JACKYL is Hair Metal and not Southern Rock. You do know Southern Rock was directly in the face of Country, Right? Country Music in the kingdom of Nashville never recognized them and they were a little tamer than Hair Metal. So man, Georgia Sattelites? Total Southern Rock. Jackyl? Total Hair Metal. But honestly it is about the music and the attitude and not geography.
Never considered Jackyl a "Hair Band" , even though they came out in that era. Jackyl is straight up a Rock and Roll band....always had been, always will be. That's why they are still putting out great music
I always considered the late 80s and early 90s to be a strange transition period. They had the long overly teased hair, but ditched the glam thing, and the music got considerably less campy. Bands like Guns N' Roses, Jackyl, Ugly Kid Joe, Ozzy's No More Tears Album, Metallica's Black Album, etc also served as the bridge from 80s hair metal to 90s grunge and alternative.
Tesla and Jackyl were guys in metal bands with Long hair, but they weren’t hair metal per se. Tesla was more traditionally hard rock, and Jackyl is Southern Hard Rock imo.
These guys suck. They can't compare to real 80s metal groups like Dokken or Ratt. These guys are just ripping off acdc and putting that early 90s "attitude" on top. It's like no, you guys are weak as shit and highly derivative of superior groups whose music you impersonate.
I'm Brazilian and I met the band Jackyl on a trip I made to America in 1994. As life is amazing, I still listen to the songs and smell the cd I bought at the time! Here in Brazil the band is little known, but I helped to spread its legacy 🇧🇷
I remember a free concert these men gave...i waited to see them for over 8 hours and I was the first one there. Jessie spotted me from their bus, he was impressed and just for that I was able to not only meet the entire band they posed for a group photo with me.... These guys are truly down to earth and they know how to rock and they make their fans feel important. I do not know if any of them will ever see this but if they do I would just like to thank them for the great show they performed for free for all the fans you guys were AWESOME...
Did they tell you they love the thought of you going down on them? I’m asking for a friend. 🤣 Seriously, not sure why this song popped into my head today but RUclips tells me what I need to remember & shit. 😉
Jackyl : One of the Greatest Southern Hard Rock Bands of all time, in my opinion ! It's criminal these guys weren't more internationally recognized ! Jackyl ROCKS !
+downincognito72 why is that is an awesome song come at me big boy lol according to your profile all ya do is bash artist lets see what ya can deliver big boy!!

I've seen these guys in concert every single time they've come to town, and they kick more and more ass each time! God, I miss the 80's... LONG LIVE JACKYL!!
@@Ryther1990s so his memory is a few years off big deal he was giving the band the props they rightly deserve no since in saying that I'm sure he figured it out..and I say to you thanks for catching it I did 2
Upon revisiting this vid in 2024, I can't believe I didn't notice the Tamas. F'n nice! Awesome guitar solo as well. Still have myeather Duchess x-mas card framed and hanging on the wall of fame, right between the photo of my homegirl who sang Sister Mary's part with Geoff and a Toys Pissed Album signrd by Jason. Cheers🍻
PUH-POW! I usually don't comment, but I find it amazing that back then, all us young folks had to worry about was being able to buy an album. Now that I am in my 60's, I got kids in the neighborhood coming to me looking for something to eat! Thanks Joe. 😑🙄😡
WHEN JACKYL CAME TO A BAR IN RENO, NV FOR A SMALL CONCERT, YOU CAN BELIEVE SAMMY AND I HADDDDD TO SEE (OUR) BAND PLAY. WE GOT TO SPEND SOME ABSOLUTELY GREAT TIMES WITH JESSIE AND THE BAND DURING AND AFTER THEIR SHOW. THEY ARE SUCH COOL GUYS, IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO OUR THOUSAND QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR SONGS, THERE LIVES, FAMILY, ETC. THEY ANSWERED EVERYTHING. SAM AND I JUST HAD SUCH A BLAST THAT NITE. SO COOL! THANK YOU, BABE. I REMEMBER THAT NITE STILL, VERY WELL...ALWAYS WILL. HAPPY BIRTHDAY,BABE

My dad took me to a Jackyl concert when I was a kid, he had to cover my eyes. I've been rocking out since the womb. I love Jackyl.... I love the thought of you coming. . down on me!!!! Yeah down on me, down on me!!!!!! Live long and rock on!!!
Stony, a friend that Iived next door 2 me,used 2 be a bouncer, in club in DC,one of the many bands he had the opportunity 2 see live while he was working there! He sure was blessed!
I've been listening to Jackyl from day one. And I've seen them live in 5 different states. The first time was in 2000 at Phenix Hill Tavern in Louisville KY. And I never forget that night because I was dating a Kentucky Bourbon Girl. And the Bourbon Girls were dancing on the stage with Jessie. And I can't believe I'm going to see Jackyl again in Louisville KY in November I think they will be in Louisville KY the 16th. But don't go by anything I'm writing. Because I'm high on Jessie James Jackyl Bourbon. Can't wait to see you live Jessie and I haven't forgotten about the signed Jackyl or Bourbon Hat. And I will get with you in RUclips notifications because I want to buy something.
Mark Garno I remember Dirty Looks , I had two of there Cassette's , so much good bands from the 80's eh ,,rock on Mark , thanks for all you young ladies and gentlemen for keeping this Music alive ,,,,you all rule .

Me n my dad (rip 4-23-24) literally shredded the hell out of this album in his 18 wheeler(I was like 10 screaming to lumberjack😂🤣) Best memories ever!!
It's a great song from back in 1992 when i heard it on my radio in my car. It brings back a lot of memories for me when i got my first job and was on my own.
One of the absolute most underrated Southern hard rock bands. Show some love.
I just seen them under a month ago, great live band!
Down on me ,Beautiful!
Yes! One of my faves & you rarely ever hear them unless you look for it
Still love the 80s hair toss
JACKYL is Hair Metal and not Southern Rock.

Still have the barstool seat Jesse carved Jackyl into....30 years ago. Still watch FTS reruns. 😊

Jim Dandy Mangrum of Black Oak Arkansas paved the way for Jackl...Go Jim Dandy!!!
Ugh... One of the sounds of my childhood. I love the positive sound.

They had more of a 70's southern rock vibe than eighties hair band, long hair but not teased or makeup.
Don’t forget the band Steel Panther as 80s metal rock hair band!
Tesla and Jackyl were guys in metal bands with Long hair, but they weren’t hair metal per se. Tesla was more traditionally hard rock, and Jackyl is Southern Hard Rock imo.

Being a 80s kid was awesome 👍

One of the greatest rock songs ever written. These boys are bad!😊

The hardest working band in rock and roll.
I love this 🥰
Yeah... you definitely banged at least one of them
Did they tell you they love the thought of you going down on them? I’m asking for a friend. 🤣 Seriously, not sure why this song popped into my head today but RUclips tells me what I need to remember & shit. 😉

these guys were so underrated, i still listen like they just came out. we gotta keep this music alive.
Ya sure it doesn't sound like a bunch of middle aged musicians in a group project for a community college 1 credit music composition elective?
