We have the Oxo Tot and love it! We’ve been using it for about 9 months now (since our daughter was 6 months) and it’s still doing great! I use a cleaning brush (like the ones you get from the cleaning aisle of the supermarket) to get any crumbs that might get on the Velcro. Also-Life hack for orange stains on plastic: put a little oil on a paper towel and wipe the tray. The pigment is attracted to the lipid and comes off fairly easily.
We love our Stokke Tripp Trapp! And yes having a foot rest is a must for a high chair, it is a proven fact. It provides them with stability, when a child’s feet have nothing beneath them for support you are essentially destabilizing their core stabilty. Proper positioning while eating/sitting totally upright, hips at a 90 degree angle, feet supported-will not only increase the amount of time your children are willing to stay seated in their high chair, it should decrease the risk of choking as well.
I cant tell you how perfect your timing is with this video! I've been stressed researching high chairs the past few days wondering why on earth I couldnt find a good review video. Then this pops up!! Thank you thank you thank you
The guy who designed the Tripp Trapp designed it when he became a father for the first time and now that he has become a grandfather he designed another one. The new chair is called Nomi (by EvoMove) and it looks more modern but has the same good qualities (and more) as the Tripp Trapp, like it can take a lot of weight and it's adjustable to different sizes etc. We just bought it for our newborn and we like it so far 🙂
@@TheTocin4 We bought the tray and just put it on yesterday. Before that we had the chair by the table. We like having him with us at the table and actually put the tray on while making dinner and put his toys on the tray and had him in the kitchen with us.
Hi I’m going to start introducing food to my baby who will be 6 months soon. What high Jaír do you recommend for her starting age as per your experience she currently weighs 15lbs
Here to say I have owned my Oxo Tot which I bought slightly used for $75 in 2014! Its been thru 3 kids and still going strong. It’s almost 10 years old with everyday use! One thing I recommend is removing the seat cushions and velcro all together then its fully wipeable. The underdog, but highly recommend!
We've had the 4moms for over a year and really like it. The magnetic plates and bowls were garbage (easily thrown), but we love that the BIBaDO smocks fit great (think sandwich) between the main tray and the tray cover. This keeps the baby and clothes clean during meals, and prevents almost any food from getting onto the chair itself. Definitely a favorite in our house, and it looks sleek too.
@@cristianm4208 oh that's too bad, it's such a great high chair! I personally wouldn't choose the Ikea one at all though. It's good bang for your buck, but it isn't compact, doesn't fold and the leg holes seem super uncomfortable, plus no foot rests. Ikea has a new high chair that is really pretty though, the Graval. I'd choose that instead.
Thanks!! I've been obsessing over what highchair to get lol. It was really helpful to see the different trays coming off/on, fabric wipe down, height adjustments, etc.
I knew I wanted a Tripp Trapp but I didn't want to spend that much $ so we bought the Abiie Beyond, which looks almost identical, is made to last as long, and costs much less. We love it! Baby's in a good, ergonomic position and it's crazy easy to assemble and clean!
Awesome! We'll probably go with the Stokke Tripp Trapp with a different cushion colour (Nordic Grey looks cool with the Natural wood). It would be great to see a review of the different baby carriers out there.
Is it bad that almost all of my toddler’s things are from your suggestions?! I needed this-thank you for always being thorough, quick, and most importantly: right! 🤣
The high chair I have was 50$ Graco one from amazon. And it has A BASKET UNDERNEATH FOR STORAGE!!! It also folds up, Best 50$ spent! Easy to clean fabric, no removable tray cover, but we only feed with plates no food directly on the tray so it’s super easy to spot clean. I put everything from bibs to cleaning wipes, even a mini vacuum to clean Crumbs in the seat. I don’t understand how people have high chairs with no basket!
I really love the look of the Lalo chair and the fact that you can turn it into a regular toddler chair later on. I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are on it.
Your videos are everything. Your research, delivery, and perspective has helped hubby and I with our new baby. We have a smaller apt, so footprint is definitely a selling point for us. I recently seen the Stokke Click and was intrigued, you have any thoughts about it? Otherwise-this decision is so hard. You sold me on almost all of them, and I’m a bit indecisive. I know this is not life or death, but i cannot decide. Anyways, not your problem-thanks so much for all this free knowledge!
The best high chair in my opinion is the Chicco Pocket Snack Booster Seat. I use it for more than a year and it is awesome, the kid loves it, and I am carrying it around everywhere easily. My sister liked it so much that she baught one for her baby.
I’ve been looking thru several reviews for the best highchairs for my twin grandsons and I am strongly leaning g toward the Tripp Trapp.. I like the footrest and knowing how long it can be used. I watched another video by an Occupstional Therapist and she did say a footrest was a must.. This is a great review video! Ty!
We had the Oxo for our twins bad mistake, it didn’t recline which I didn’t realize how important that feature was. We’re having our 3rd child this winter and I will most def skip the high names and stick to the basics. A chair that reclines, fold to stuck away, easy to clean and absolutely affordable!!!!!
@@dadverb great question, I have a scheduled c section this winter. Like many other mother who has experienced a c section can tell you lifting baby in and out of things are difficult. A reclined high chair can assist in feeding the baby and if they drift off and take a nap all the better. Also my twins were eating table food way before they can sit on their own. We made the mistake of getting the Oxo high chairs and had to put blankets around them for support. Had the Oxo had a recline feature to it would have been so much easier to feed them in their earlier stage. Also our twins PT recommend getting a high chair with a recline feature for so many other reasons. Many that feature doesn’t affect many mother but trust me it would have mattered for me.
With the OXO Tot Sprout being discontinued, do you know of any upcoming similar chairs from OXO? My wife & I received a used one that was unfortunately incomplete (missing the straps, padding, & the crotch post). But we still really like the chair, and we'd buy the whole thing brand new if we could, which is why I though you may have insight to what OXO is launching to replace the Tot Sprout in its lineup.
Thanks Dad Verb! We saw from a previous video that you were dropping a high chair review soon so we wanted to wait to see it before making our final decision..thanks!
Personally I love the cocoon oribel high chair. I have 3 kids 3 and under and the 2 things I need in a high chair are easy to clean and a recline function. 6 month old babies can’t sit up straight but other than that I think these high chairs are great!
i love that i found this comment because i had my heart set on the bloom high chair, but it's so impractical and overpriced and reviews arent great overall. this one looks just like it and is much more practical for 1/3 of the price! woooo
One thing I don’t like about the trip trap is how many crevices it has under the tray. I put it in the dishwasher every couple days and it comes out clean but it’s a lot harder than I’d like to wash the underside by hand.
I’ve used Tripp trapp for 1 year, my only complaint is the tray, it’s almost impossible to find suction plate that can stay longer than 30s on it. Finally I give up and just put food on the tray.

I am having a hard time deciding between the Stokke Tripp Trapp and the 4moms chair. I am looking for convenience over longevity. But someone did say that having a footrest on the high chair could potentially improve the eating experience for the baby. What are your thoughts?
foot rest is a must for me but only because realized watching this video that I always place my foot on the rest of chairs if its high or even on most tables. Just a better experience and i would like my child to have that option even if its just a little thing.
Can you show us how to install the harness from the baby set through the cushion? I cannot find instruction or video on how to. I saw comments on other videos where people are searching for instructional video as well. Greatly appreciate it

We’re thinking of taking a road trip this summer and I’m wondering what compact stroller you recommend? My wife keeps bugging me about the pockit. @@dadverb thank you very much but it doesn’t have to be priced so low, just looking for a really good option at a good price point, around 100 or a little more.
Thanks for the video! I was lucky and found a new cybex Lemo chair with the inserts on FB marketplace it was new but I got for less than $200 and brand new at the time was over $300. I really like it, it doesn’t take much space and my son is able to sit with us at the table. It can get messy but I was not a fan of cleaning trays :(. What do you think of the cybex Lemo? Thanks to your videos I bought the nanit and still using it and love it! My son will soon be 2.
I wish that some shop's would cover high chair for us adult baby and I know being a baby I unormal but I have had a hard life because iam transgender and gamer and adult baby side of life because of stressful life events that why it painful to deal with hopefully other kids don't get as much broken as I have
Please, PLEASE, do NOT buy the 4moms High Chair. We bought that first and used it for about a month before changing to the Ikea high chair. It tilts your baby back a bit so they have to lean forward to even try and eat. There are so many nooks and crannies that its impossible to get it fully clean. It is my one regret purchase for our baby. I don't know who designed it, it makes absolutely not sense for baby led weaning especially.
We have the Oxo Tot and love it! We’ve been using it for about 9 months now (since our daughter was 6 months) and it’s still doing great! I use a cleaning brush (like the ones you get from the cleaning aisle of the supermarket) to get any crumbs that might get on the Velcro.

Boosters are fine but they may scuff up your chair a little. We used a basic one from Ingenuity and it was sufficient.
isnt there a huge safety issue in the trip trapp design? I see the added plastic foot, but is this 'enough' to avoid the tipping hazard?

You should check out Oribel High Chair too!
I am a new mom and would like you to recommend the best high chair in terms of the best value for money
Best value would certainly be IKEA Antilop if money is truly the sole focus of your buying decision.
@@dadverb thank you very much but it doesn’t have to be priced so low, just looking for a really good option at a good price point, around 100 or a little more.
Great video. What's your thoughts on the Chicco polly or polly2start?
RIght on par with Graco. A tad bulkier but with a better fold, actual storage on the bottom and a better tray.
Thanks for the response back. I'm debating on the Chicco Polly or the OXO.
I sold the polly for the oxo. The Polly ducked my kiddo in, way too bog and bulky.. too many bells and whistles.
Hauck alpha plus is kinda exact the same like the stokke tripp trapp for a quarter of the price :-)
You can’t use the 20% off on the Tripp Trapp, we just tried. Our little one loves the Tripp Trapp though.
You can use the registry completion discount though!
@@kristinotto102 that’s good to know. We waited a while before getting a high chair so we never register for it.
Thanks for catching that. I forgot to double check that their coupon excludes some brands.
@@dadverb Thanks for your videos always helpful.
What’s you favorite?
I got the peg perego siesta second hand. Really excited about it. Retails for $399 but got it for $100.
I have the $20 ikea chair with a footrest. Yeahbabygoods makes footrest for that chair
Great content! 👍 We’re expecting our first in June!
Scvg
footrest ftw man.. its an advantage
I wish that some shop's would cover high chair for us adult baby and I know being a baby I unormal but I have had a hard life because iam transgender and gamer and adult baby side of life because of stressful life events that why it painful to deal with hopefully other kids don't get as much broken as I have
ikea!!!
TFS!
