    I’m a new mom and I love your videos! I am curious what your thoughts are on the Bugaboo Giraffe? Neither the Mockingbird or Ergobaby high chairs are available in Canada.

      I've seen the name occasionally floated around but never enough to look into it too deeply to have an opinion! Sorry! At a glance, I'd get it over the tripp trapp though, but may still go with the stokke steps over it

      I bought the giraffe after falling in love with the design. We didn’t love the hard to clean feature of our previous chair with our oldest. I’m setting it up this weekend (for our 2nd kid) and I’ll report back. Many people online bought it after struggling with the Tripp Trapp, honestly. I love convertible items and anything engineered as intently as this appears to be.
      And tbh, the Mockingbird brand doesn’t impress me after what happened with their stroller.

      I’d love to know what you think of it! Did you purchase the newborn set as well?

      @@HeatherSmith-q3lSo we’ve now used the Bugaboo Giraffe for about a month and love it. We didn’t purchase the newborn set, mostly because I only found out about this high chair when my baby was almost 5 months old. Ideally, this high chair would have existed before my first was born and we would have had the high chair + newborn set for 2 kids.
      I have had to clean the harness in the washing machine once and spot clean the seat pads (optional add-on). Both look brand new still. It was a little tricky getting the release pressed to take off the seat to remove the harness but that may just get easier once I learn the right angle. Putting it back together was a breeze, even when 2 kids whining at me.

    Does the mockingbird have a three point harness or a five point? Every other review says something different 😅

      It has a 5 point harness actually - i kept getting confused because its 3 points that clip together, but the two shoulder straps are 5 point. So basically unlike some strollers where you have to connect each of the five points into a star at the buckle, two of the five points connect in a buckle on either arm, and then those two buckles go into the crotch strap. You can see this best when i show the straps tucked in the strap holder, how it shows the 4 points (fifth being groin). I hope that makes sense!

    Doesn’t the Stokke bouncer function as a ground bouncer on its own? That’s the main feature that’s keeping my eye on Stokke steps vs mockingbird.

    • @confidentlymom
      @confidentlymom  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah but you’re still having to buy their bouncer, and for $200 it’s not my favorite (I’ve reviewed others I prefer and compared those). And a bouncer on a high chair/high up isn’t something I personally care about like I mentioned in the video. If that’s what you care about then it’s the best pick for sure!

      @@confidentlymom Makes sense, thank you! I ended up choosing the Mockingbird Highchair and Ergobaby Evolve Bouncer :)

      Let me know what you think!

    Does the mockinbird has a way to stop the baby to fall to the back when she pushes the chair from the table. My kid likes to push back her chair from the table when she is done eating and the stokke has a way to not fall to the back. Thanks!

      It does not - but I don't think it needs it, sort of how the Stokke Steps doesn't have the anti-tip features because it's not as risk like the Tripp Trapp.
      The way the Tripp Trapp legs are designed, particularly the feet, really increase those odds and they had several incidents in the 2010s around this and even released front leg extenders for the baby seat attachment.
      The only chairs I know iwth the anti-tip extenders, other than the tripp trapp, are the yippy and lemon.
      I could be totally wrong on all of that - but if you like the mockingbird i'd write them and ask them to release stabilizers like the Yippy's at it's some-what-ish similar lol
