I guess what she refers to a SD pad everyone else refers too as a SD card. Was she using a Linux or possibly a Apple based system to download the firmware file on to a SD card
Here is what worked for me after 3 hours of watching/reading comments & forums. I did not update my drone ever, and bought over a year ago. 1) Download newest version (v1.9.60) & put on your micro SD card, update aircraft following instructions in the video. 2) Change battery(s) and follow same process. (this updates your batteries) 3) For Controller, down load version v1.3.20 (older version), this should work through the SD card (I had all the same problems as people comment on here, my controller would not update) download v1.3.20 ! 4) Once your controller has v1.3.20 , your controller will allow you to update to the newest version through the app after that. This is what worked for me after reading many video comments, and web searching. Hope this helps!
Thanks of the video - keeping my fingers crossed, ran across a new Phantom owner in the forums and he is in a panic because he has an 'all red light' and did not know about the beeps. Guiding him through, so hoping sending him the directions and this video will help. Will update if it worked.
Thanks for posting this. It was helpful! It would have been great if you played the update "sound" at the end of the Quad update. The sound is similar to the sound it makes while it is updating. I don't know why DJI doesn't have it shut down or something else that makes it clear that the update is finished. BTW the tiny blinking green/red light goes solid green when complete. Are you going to do one on how to update the battery? Thanks again.
g'day easterner, LOL. I used a mac to download the latest firmware, inserted the sd card into the phantom pro, lights lit up and gimble moved about. Made a few beeps. Rear lights are solid red, front lights are amber flashing, light on the side where the sd card is inserted is solid green. I do not hear the "fax" sounds for more than the initial beeps of about 3 seconds. Have waited 30min, have also formatted the sd and tried it all again.
Do you by any chance know where to find the firmware up date when it is no longer on the DJI website? I followed your instructions and it is no longer on their website.

Well , I have a phantom 3SE and it doesn’t connect to the controller by cable. If I connect to the controller trough WiFi then my phone can not download the update once it looses connection to the internet .

Hi! my Phantom 3 makes a different sound then yours, I did exactly what you do in your video and when I put the empty SD card with the 1.8.0.80 version bin firmware and turn the battery on it beep really loudly and really not like you.. do you have an idea of what should I do, I did it again and again, never worked

Saw a comment yesterday ,dated a month ago, that now the card transfer back and forth from RC to Aircraft etc is not necessary as the computer modem will automatically send out the updates to install, the same as in any iPad....is this true? Any response will be appreciated !! Thanks!!!!! :)))))

M9 go onto your dji go app, Turn on you remote then your drone. connect to your drone via wifi defualt password for phantom 3 is 12341234 then click connect camera and it should start doing its thing.

+TheLightningRC Download win rar, once you have done that and win rar is fully set up, go to the zip folder (the updated from dji) right click and press extract here ( this will extract the file from the zip folder and give you a file that ends in .bin) that .bin file will be in the same place as your zip folder that you extracted from. Pick up that bin file and drag it onto the SD card.
+MK2EA I figured it out theirs a little slider on the sd card that makes it locked or unlocked so things can or can't be changed on it. Mine was on locked. Thank you anyways!!:)

The update came out this week was bad. alot of problem with the wifi signal. It keep droping.. I didnt update it yet.

Why did DJI had to make things so complicated? why not make something similar like DJI vision app which could work on Windows platform?

Why didn't you update the controller through SD card? You already had the firmware version on it.
Newer Go Apps require the hand controller to be updated via the app and not via connecting a SD card into the controller via a USB adapter. ;)
after successfully updating the firmware on the drone and checking the succes txt file on my computer can i erase both the bin and the text file?

Dji told me to take it back to Best Buy. They said it was the droid itself. I didn't have any problem with the new one. It updated properly
