- As you know this Phantom 3 Standard latest 1.8.1 firmware still not the good version to use and a lot pilots did complain the live view and the distance is worse than 1.7.9.
So we making this video guide for Phantom 3 pilots how to downgrade your 1.8.1 back to 1.7.9.
Most people has done this and feedback that 1.7.9 live view and distance is must better than 1.8.1, So if you're the one who's facing this issues as well then you should try downgrade back 1.7.9 to compare your experience.

my Phantom 3 Standard losts the video connection. it is like he dont have camera anymore. so i tried your procedure to get bac from 1.9.20 to 1.07.9 but....it does not work ! after charging the bin on the formatted card simply.....the drone ignores it and goes ahead with latest version. any idea ? thanks
Have you tried going from 1.9 to 1.8 and then trying 1.8 to 1.7?
my experience as a pc tech made this big problem easy i can see how people are having trouble this is not a noob task...lol thanks for the help you helped out sub/ like.....j
when I install firmware on sdcard and put in my phantom 3 I don't hear the beeps lights just keep blinking

There are no "no-fly" zones in firmware 1.5.7..
When establishing connection between aircraft, controller and DJI GO APP, the install skips the earlier version and upgrades to the recommended firmware version available through the "Upgrade Available" option. This is reported as version V99.99.9999 in the log file. Reason: "The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft." I can get the earlier version to install if I load the bin file but do not run the DJI GO APP. I do not know if this will cause an issue between the aircraft and the controller but will conduct some test flights ASAP to determine.

I’ve been considering buying P3 standard but the reviews on DJI go app are terrible a lot of people pissed at DJI, will this App is so I can bind and fly and not have the problems I’ve read about?
hi! I followed the procedure but it is still losing signal. Distance 130m and returns to home... This is the second time when i have the same error. I sent my drone for repair last year under warranty. Dji fixed the problem. I updated to the 1.8 version two weeks ago and I still have the same issue. I just don't know what can I do... It is frustrating.
just bought P3Std yesterday, with ARGtech antenna ,,, drone is in v1.09.. i need v1.07 but the link given above is invalid. where can i find them ?
I updated the firmware on my Phantom 3 professional but not my handcontroller because it didnt work, do I downgrade the firmware on the drone back to to the same as the handcontroller so I can fly again? My handcontroller is blinkning red and green and my drone is blinkning yellow.. What should I do?

You need to download the firmware files from the website then follow the steps to proceed the firmware update/downgrade.

INTELMAXELL The main issues of this 1.8.1 firmware still got bugs! Usually when you signal lost the aircraft will activate the auto return home in between 30 seconds and will bring your aircraft back to home point, But version 1.8.1 for my experience is when I lost the signal for more than 5 minutes my aircraft is hovering on the air then the auto return home activated and bring my aircraft back to home point! So if in between this 5 minutes my aircraft not enough battery life to return home for save so who's will responsible for this?
After recent changes to all DIJ software my Phantom 3 camera stopped transferring videos, now it does not read the micro sd card to camera, and pc does not find the micro sd card per wired micro USB plugged to drone, I'm so disappointed with DJI which caused problem to phantom 3 standard, I noticed DJI has the worst costumer supports, !!! Are you aware what DJI did to buyer's of DJI drones? they caused problems to our drones intentionally, too many drones out there having problems with Camera viewing blank image by recent update, and cameras are disabled, and they rearranged the location of firm wares on website, and made the download of firmware impossible, and difficult, because they want us to send them the products to be repaired by an additional cost, I would say they are not an honest providers. We are sure nothing is wrong with our drones, we never damaged our drones, how could all these cameras stop working over nigh !!! I don't commend this dishonest DJI companies !!!

@@frtozzi I changed the camera and gimbal black ribbon, that wasn't the issue, the problem is the firmware update, which killed the camera, dji don't want fix the issue, they exceeded we upgrade our phantom 3 to expensive dji, but I'm so pissedoff and I got something better and cheaper 😁 I got sg906 pro with 4k 2 axis camera +extra battery just for $200 out of my pocket from Alibaba, shipping was included.
@@FlightSim2703 dear brian, thanks for answering but how can i exchange stability of flight of phantom with a chinese.....no offense....toy ? do you really think it is impossible to solve the Phantom firmware problem. you know, i tried also to downgrade the firmware but ...nothing. it seems also the firmware reading fro the sd card is blocked. the machen does not read the card and camera AT ALL and suddenly.....DJI cannot come with "i dont know, send it to me".....i hope they cannot
@@frtozzi, unfortunately I have to say a bad firmware could damage the electronic parts installed in a device, and when a device is damaged, it requires to be diagnosed, locate the bad electrodes, and parts, that will cost all an additional cost, people get more upset, whenever just bought the product, and this happens to their toys or what else you named it , unfortunately we used this drone for our business, and two of them was damaged at the same type of firmware update actions.
I cant downgrade from 1.9.2 to below , after install i check firmware ia still the same, is it 1.9.2 does not allow downgrade????

Thank you for that advice. I'm still researching the downgrade because with 1.8.1 it seems like I am constantly worried about my signal getting lost and RTH not executing and not enjoying the drone.
One question though, will this downgrade cause the barometer error that has been described by user Bence Kovacs?
Jim T So far from 1.8 downgrade to 1.7 shouldn't have issues, the barometer only have error is lower than 1.7 version because DJI only allowed you to downgrade one step down only but if you do more than one step down then error will come out.

May i know what current of your aircraft firmware?
If your current firmware is 1.8.1 then you can't downgrade for 1.5.7 because DJI has locked and not allow to downgrade.
High Power Expert ARGtek GM5 I have 1.8.10 now and geting about 500 m. But everybody says 1.5.7 had better range.
1.8.10 is only allow one step downgrade firmware version only.....can't downgrade even older firmware because DJI has locked and not to downgrade.
Every time I try this( which I have many times), it says update success. I restart everything and DJI go app says "sensor error. restart aircraft." Only way to get it working again is to update thru the app back to 1.8.1. PLEASE HELP!! anyone??

**Remember format the sdcard then insert this 2 files at root of the sdcard then insert back to the aircraft for the firmware downgrade.

Martinez mine was doing that too. Downgrade to 1.7.9. Then format and run 1.7.9 with debug. Format again and run just 1.7.94. After last restart delete 1.7.94 bin file.
