  • My homage to Tyler from Hoovies garage with a little bit of Doug DeMuro quirks and features I buy a little French hot hatch that no one really loved. Is it a hooptie? Who knows?

    The button on steering wheel is to switch your aircon to in cabin only cycle... In traffic jams etc or behind smelly truck...
    The plastic leaver on the seat is to hold your seat bell for you...
    The plastic holder in the boot is pure genius to hold in place your shopping which is absolutely amazing feature...
    So yeah I do love my C4 coupe...
    Next to likes of 3 Door golf or focus etc this looks like 10 years ahead in design...
    Also look how big and clear is the digital speedometer... Pretty much every car have it now...
    Anyway have fun with it 👌

    The dual lever on the side of the seat is to place the seatbelt closer to you, so you can grab it easily. The doors on this car are huge, and the seatbelt resting position could be way too far.
    This was my first car, and it had a lot of features that more modern cars don't have. If you fully read the manual you'll get some interesting surprises.
    Suspension is very stiff IMO, but in general it is a phenomenal car!

      ..it's a follow-up of the single spoke steering wheel from the ID19, no hub at all 😎 It was a safety feature before it's time.
      Most cars in the 50's had a steel rod between the bumper and the drivers chest, not so cool. I have read that the spoke's 45° angle to the left had two purposes: mimicking a half part of one of the chevrons, but more importantly, in case of an impact, redirect the forces on the drivers chest sideways to reduce the risk of serious injury. There's more to Citroën than most people realise. I'm very happy with my second C4 Coupé Hdi 😁

    The cruise fault is for the buttons on the steering. Firsts C4 had that problem. The solution is buy a buttons set with the )( button where yours have the half black half withe circle. If you press and hold that button, you can choose the function linked to it. Please, remove that radio and install a RD4 N2 M 03 and add the "boitier nomade v. 2". It will give you double bluetooth and usb (buy a set of steering buttons with phone controls to use it 100% with voice control too). You can also install the JBL pack (i made a convertion kit for my C4 VTR, now completely turned in VTS with genuine factory optionals taken from scrap)

    It's not the worst example I've ever seen. I've got the nicest one left in the country. 49000 Miles with optional Pan Roof, Jbl audio and full leather heated seats. I notice yours is missing the front parking sensors and has a non-standard back box. I assume due to the ridiculous price of the standard one. All the rear spoilers go like that, believe it or not, it's due to the paint flacking off because it doesn't take to the material of the wing. The xenons are directional and turn when you go round a corner.

    Small correction, this engine is on an EW base and not XU. It's the EW10J4S to be exact. EW motors are renowned for their reliability. However, they are not very efficient. I'm going to buy one tomorrow.

      The EW engine is a tank. I have one with 230000km I have spent $500 on it in the last 120000. I don’t look after it at all have only changed oil a few times. It still runs really well. The seats have fallen apart though. Also average fuel consumption around the city is 8.3L/100km over the last 9000km driving Uber eats. I’m buying another one to treat well if I can find one without the glass roof, I live in Australia and it is an oven in summer.

    I see 3 problems in this car.
    first is the lack of sixth gear, engine very high in revolutions and the noise of the engine on the road is high. at 100 km/h you go at 3,200 rev... there is a 2.0 diesel unit with 6 gears, I would love to know if it is compatible with the petrol engine...
    second, when you go at high speeds you feel a minimal intake of air through the top of the door.
    third is little to no cushioning in the rear.

    • @NerdInMotion23
      @NerdInMotion23  2 года назад

      I agree, but I'd have a petrol over the Diesel every time.

    • @echatz
      @echatz 2 года назад +2

      This car can only be justified by its cool factor. It has to have the 2.0 petrol with VVT. It can be swapped with a 6 Speed, however it is best left as is. The only mod worth doing (to keep it original) is changing both the radio and display (preferably yellow) from an RD4 to an RD45 (and purchasing the usb cable, usb box and mic (from aliexpress)) in order to have BT and Aux.
