My Last Theory About Who Blew the Horn (God of War Theory)

- Oh boy.... it's time to talk about the famous God of War question. Who blew the Horn? This is something GOW fans have been obsessing about since 2018 and now with the announcement of God of War Ragnarok as well as Angrboda. I have to re-examine my theory. is it possible Angrboda blew the horn?

Me when I saw the notification:
That’s Heimdallr with helmet, horn and the sword Hofuð!
i wish angra boda was white
what if the horn will be blown by Loki(aka adult Atreas) in GOW 6
Huge Fan kaptain kuba.. In last you said was ri8
Player himself will blew the horn.. But if world serpent knows how to travel in future he might already went in future.. Rater to be in midgard
Whoever blew the horn i hope they are a calm and reasonable person
Are YOU a calm and reasonable person?
😆
Yeah I saw the trailer too…..
I. Think It was Tÿr
i laugh at this a littel to bad man
Lmao 😂
Dude, this theory is on another level. well done.
Im glad you agree with it
It’s on another level. Fantastic job Kuba
I can’t wait for more theory’s.
@@Zoxxies bro that kratos is so funny
yes i agree its a really detailed theory and is probably right i would say
@@KaptainKubayour theory was way more sense than the last one and pretty valid explaination on outside perspective, i hope that would happen on full gameplay/lets play video tho
My theory is that spreading Fey's ashes (dunno if I spelled it right, Kratos' wife) has more significance to the story than just giving Kratos and Atreus a journey, it might have to do with the resurrection of Jotenheim.
This actually pretty amazing to think about. A death of someone else means a life for someone else.
Yes,but how exactly? If Angroboda exists, then whatever generation of Jotunn born is a bit older than the point where Kratos spreads the ashes. Or do you mean literal ressurection? 🤔
I feel like they kinda foreshadowed it. it's similar to when Kratos' stabbed himself with the Blade of Olympus and released hope. Also it gives a clear reasoning behind showing the fallen giant's aside from wow factor.
@@alyseleem2692 I mean this is a world where severed heads can be brought back to life, who knows what kind of magic Fey knew.
@@alyseleem2692 It's an illusion in case Odin travelled to Jotemheim. All he would find is dead giants.
Makes a lot of sense, because when Thor went to Jotunheim in the stories the giant guiding him said he was using magic as an illusion to hide his people from Thor
Indeed, that giant's name is Utgard Loki, the poem specifically is named Lokrur
can't believe this just slipped my mind, that's wonderful
"Wanna go on a date Atreus?"
That somehow was so freaking wholesome and Cute.
Loki and angrboda relationship in three words that u just said.
@Elaine Rodriguez hmm i never looked deep in this but maybe because angrboda is a giant that helped beacuse she can shapeshift imo.
Snakes have a significant importance to both Egyptian and Norse mythology so this could be a possibility
My mind just goes to how they will execute all of this into the new game it’s so much and time travel is always the hardest thing to conquer successfully in the story
Thats true, I hopenits not the main plot. Instead just a small section
@@KaptainKuba if it’s the main plot, it will be more confusing than the fact that ascension is an actual game
Too many people are hung up on time travel, there is no overt mention of time travel, just that time moves differently in different realms. For Jormungandr and Fenrir to exist Loki must have an affair with Angerbota and since she is also young like Atreaus they must spend a lot of time in Jotunheim for time to flow differently there and the beasts to be born and Odin to claim them then toss Jorm into the sea Fenrir in binding and Hel into Helheim and since Hel isn't in Helheim in game 1 then this is yet to happen. Jorm can be there because he encircles the world and time in Midgard till Ragnarok.
@@roman727 well actually their is because the world serpent was literally sent back in time so it all makes sense and it all literally has to happen they don’t follow the actual pantheon but they definitely do keep at least somewhat the same flow of things it’s no way young loki is going to have them it literally makes no sense
@@whip1720 but they have kept faith with the eddas so far in some manner. All of the wall murals are the Edda.
I think Faye's ashes broke the illusion or was a signal to the giants that the prophecy is fulfilled and odin's eye is cast toward Kratos and Atreus and the start of fimblewinter.
I actually love this idea
YES
Damn I didn’t even think about her ashes serving as a purpose! But damn that’s a good one and can see that happening.
I also believe that the ashes are a signal of some kind. It seemed very important to Faye and then to Kratos that they deliver those ashes right where they needed to be.
@@grubbyj6678 Thanks
My thoughts on Jotunheim, the one you see in the game, was either a full-fledged illusion spell placed by Faye (or Tyr)…or my preferred theory was that it was really desolate and without life, all giants were dead, and spreading Faye’s ashes was her last bit of magic that would restore the realm and resurrect the giants.
She specifically had Kratos and Loki travel to the mountain in Jotunheim to spread her ashes. Throughout the entire game, Faye’s plan played out in the background without us knowing, so why can’t the spreading of her ashes be of far more importance than just being laid to rest in her home realm?
Maybe even the specific trees she marked for Kratos to chop down for her funeral pyre we’re not just enchanted as part of the forest barrier, but also enchanted with magic that when combined with her own ashes and spread in Jotunheim, it restores the realm?
It’s probably too far out there, but it feels like something Barlog could have cooked up with his writers. Maybe.
I thought the first time I played the game the significance of Faye is the story line yet not being in the game herself meant so much more then just the journey. The theory that jotunheim in the game we saw could’ve all been an illusion amazes me!
I was literally wondering about this 10 minutes ago
I was wondering about this for 4 years
Ever since the new trailer dropped I’ve been watching every theory and Norse Lore . This game can’t get here fast enough , I need confirmation
Another part to your theory that backs it up is that if they did go back in time when Atreus was sick then the world tree splintering would be an explanation for the stormy weather when Atreus is sick
Or maybe its just thor beating up modi then cadt out from asgard by some mcu asgard teleportation stuff that wuitely similar to how the enemies in the ragnarok teleport
Makes sense
I think angrboda is from the timeline that jormangandr is from, she went back in time with him to protect him since she is his mother
Me who still looks at Baldur's death:
Baldur: SNOWWW!
Me: I'm about to cry!
Yeah baldur's lust for vengeance and the impact of him dying with the final words "snow" (i mean the very cause of fimbulwinter - snow)...odin... Has been potrayed as a psychopath... The skaõr and that librarian story left me ....kinda disturbed ngl...
The librarian was a collector of prophecies for those who dont know and was trying to find her long lost husband... She invited odin as a friend who choked her to death and took the Library from her...
The skaõr story is too long... So long story short .. skaõr was a huntress who was deceived into killing her own father by odin...
@@Hello-jm8qb that's truly messed up man... Thanks for sharing this gold peace of myth
you know what's really interesting?? that after the horn blew... we never heard the serpent speak... his loud ass voice would definitely be heard from that distance lol... so it might be that whoever did it asked him to keep quite and just listen?? if he spoke mimir would understand what is being said...
Damn kuba is a big brain
suiiiiiiiiii he is
I need the full story prediction as soon as possible 😭
Im working on it right now
You are an treasure box for God of war fans 🙌🙏 love you man ❤️
I literally talked about this in my stream the other day haha even mentioned your channel lol, I really look forward to see who it is, I’m
gonna roll future Atreus.
I've been playing through all the games on Playstation now and your videos are amazing man! Glad to have a great content creator for God of war doing the good work.
This is the best theory by far I can’t wait for this game!
He was right about there being a hidden jotunheim, that being ironwood. Good job Kuba
imagine if kuba is also a time traveler and he knows whats going to happen but he just acts like he doesnt know anything and makes "theories" about it
Hahaahahahaha
@@KaptainKuba i swear dude
this theory made me jump out of my pants which is weird considering im in a bathtub now and not wearing any
Ffs. Hahaha
been having a rough time lately but your videos literally turn me up to 10000 thx alot much love.
I'm glad my videos bring you some happiness 😊
Somehow I think the ashes of faey when spread across her fallen gaints might revive them or something for ragnarok and it took the whole fimblewinter for her ashes and magic to work n revive the fallen gaints. 🤔
Why else would her ashes sparkle like that over the battlefield of the Giants. I like this theory.👌🔥
now it makes more sense as to why she wanted it to be spread on the highest mountain, to revive more
@@inusara9306 Cory even stated that Faye has been leading us this entire time so she basically planned this all along I just hope we get to see her in this next game🔥
that cant be because the snow started as soon as baldur died
Melody Of Pandora in background always soothing and calming ☺️🙏🏻🕉️🚩🇮🇳
I get so excited every time I see you upload!!! YES can't wait to watch!
I have no idea how you come up with this stuff man. This is very creative. You have a lot of imagination and are able to make it make sense. And not just full on random spewing. That’s something else man. Good job 👍🏼
You never fail to amaze me with these predictions Kuba amazing job and can't wait to see more predictions.
I always thought that Faye’s ashes were somehow restorative and that as her ashes touched the ground it would bring life back to the “dead” or “trapped in time” giants. It’s like they’re just frozen in time and the ashes will awaken them and bring life back to Jotunheim
I’ve been waiting for so long for this video thanks kuba 🙂
I'm so happy to see how this channel has grown. Kuba deserves the recognition
Probably my favorite theory about the horn so far. I’ve put some thought into it and it sounds crazy but I think it’s possible its Odin who blew the horn to try and stop ragnarok and wager a deal with jorumungander or to trick him.
Keep making these videos man they are amazing
I will, don't worry
I love how kuba thinking of upcoming events and wondering things that gonna happen! Thanx dude love ur contents❤️ keep it up
Here’s hoping that binge watching your videos recently hasn’t unknowingly spoiled the whole plot for me🤣
Seriously though, your videos are amazing snd you put a lot of thought and work into these theories, amazing job!!
Great video Kuba. If this turns out to be true then this will be crazy haha. Keep up the great content.
incredible theory Kuba! super well thought out. definitely want to see something like this happen. my only question though; i get Freya is not a fan of ours, but why team up with Thor? wouldn't Thor still hold a grudge from when she cast them both out of Odin's initial foothold in Jotunheim, or is it just assumed that since this is a timeline where the giants are 'dead' that Thor killed them? the fight that initially splintered Yggdrasil was between Thor and Jormungandr, and i can easily see Kratos just being shoved into that role. if anything, the battle could be twice as destructive, considering that Kratos is likely more powerful than Thor by this point(pretty impressive resumé) and he'll have help. i can see Freya fighting us, but not alongside any Aesir
getting pretty good vibes of the part of the theory with the song best theory ive seen you make great job
Dude been watching forever and your videos never get old man
The part about the Lullaby of the Giants blew my mind. How did you find that?
Its funny, I've always believed this was the case but after I uploaded the video people mentioned the lyrics. Which is funny because is the same as my theory
@@KaptainKuba yes, after watching your video 'why are the GIANTS dead' I was convinced that there are 2 timelines. and I also believed that Jotunheim we go to is Tyr's last failsafe you tied everything together brilliantly.
Kuba, you might already know this but in tyr's vault freya's rune got rubbed off. If you visit freya after you completed tyr vault it triggers an conversation which she says "Odin may be driven by fear" maybe she referred to the fear that Zeus had?
I am really looking forward to watching a play through of this game when it comes out
And all the theory Easter eggs and all other videos you come out with
Im literally playing god of war 3 rn And its amazing glad i went back to that game And Cool video Kuba Hope u upload more
This is easily the best theory, I really hope this is how it happens. Awesome video, it’s got me so hyped
Thank you for this I was really confused who blew the horn
I literally was praying you made another vid on this theory 😁
All I can say is hat's off! To one of the best and realistic theories ever shared. Looking forward to see how the game is gonna be like.
regardless if ur wrong or not keep it coming man I love these videos
You got it lol
The giants being dead is either an illusion or it's to do with the way time is different in different realms. But they are not all dead.
I was thinking about this last night hoping you make another vid
Continue the good work man you always keep us enterteined
Jormungandr got thrown so far back into the past that he had to learn an ancient language that others were already using back then
Betting it was Mimir in the past when he had his body, don't know why or how, but knowing the slyness of Cory's writing, it's the last person we're gonna expect
I'm not sure if his job involves co-writing the story, but he stepped down as the Creative Director but still stayed a Director. The other person in the zoom call is the new Creative Director. But yes, knowing Cory there is going to happen something completely unexpected.
But I'm still sticking to the Atreus theory to call the Serpent when he was needed for the boss fight with Baldur.
Hey dude, new subscriber here. Nice one for the god of war Vidz. Your getting me hyped so much for Ragnarok! Keep em coming 👊🤘
I'm glad man
The stairs to jötunheim from the realm travel room are on the branches of the world tree or in the realm between realms. And like i said before, it has be be something, whether it's a time travel bridge, a bridge to an entirely different place than jötunheim or something else.
I know for sure it's integral to what plays out next. Great theory as always kuba
Only Ymir knows who blew the horn
I loved this theory alot ❤
Hey awesome, I sent you the theory about the lyrics last year and You made a video about it great 👍.
This is a phenomenal theory. Nice work kaptain.
I’m hoping it’s Kratos and tyr going back in time. To a point where they know Kratos is busy bringing atreaus to Freya
The real Jotunheim is the friends we made along the way.
😂 😂 😂 😂
Omg this is one of the best theories you have uploaded
I live this line of theory. great job constructing it! Makes me wonder if this will also include Kratos and Atreus trying to reverse the power struggle for the light in Alfheim during their journey into the past. Trying to give the Dark Elves a fighting chance?
in my personal opinion i think no one blew the horn and kratos just let one out
To be honest Your Theory sounds so good imagine if that was true and it happened in GOW Ragnarok lol
dang bro your theories are so sick!
I'm glad you're enjoying them 😊
I love waiting till night for kap to post a vid
I hope Sta Monica is not done on this part of the game. Your theory couldl make sense. Nice one bro 🤘
It was me guys, my bad
So it was you all along!?!?
Ohh god my mind is blown... This is sounds legit... This is crazy to think of.. You are crazy thank you for the contact 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely amazing video as always dude
I'm going with the theory that fayes ashes are going to bring back the giants. It looks too magical and the fact that it went straight to all the dead giants as if it was bringing them life.
i also think she dis some sort of spell and sacrifice herself for that.
@@ivanleon6164 maybe or what I'd like to think is that they have that ability already embedded in ones ashes. So faye probably wont come back, but everyone else will
I’m soo disappointed that even after Ragnarok we still don’t know who blew the horn or why
Santa Monica messed up here
Not really. The simplest answer might be true… Baldur could have sounded the horn. There’s no ACTUAL reason Baldur couldn’t have used it.
@@billcipher779 thats still just speculation we dont know for sure who did
@@lilgoomy Sure, but it doesn’t mean Santa Monica messed up by leaving it ambiguous.
@@billcipher779 I think they messed up by saying we’d find out In Ragnarok
@@billcipher779 But theres a really good reason why he wouldnt have. Hes Aesir. No answer wouldve called on the serpent. They're all out of the question. It would be on sight instantly
Damn why am i having goosebumps 😬 you're insane kuba ❤️
Broo amazing theory, I could sit down with you and and talk about the story ALL DAY. The game wouldn't be the same without you, you're gassing me up man.
Now about a theory of mine I truly believe that when Thor comes to our house and says "you seem like... Are you a calm and reasonable person?" he says it sarcastically because he is an absolute savage. Either that or he just came to warn Kratos but he killed three of his closest family members soo not likely. AND if Thor beats up Kratos wich will mean he's stronger than him I'll be furious bro. Let me know what you think about it in a video!!! Keep on the amazing job!!!
The only problem with theories involving Atreus blowing the horn or being present when the horn is blown, is the simple fact that he has already proven he can summon the world serpent at will without having to blow the horn. Think back to the battle with the giant reanimated by Freya.
I think that theory would be really excited I would like to see it happen in god of war 5 and I agree with your theory my man and I like to watch your videos about god of war because it’s my childhood game series and you’re videos are excited to watch and continue your work work and I’m so excited to see what’s gonna the next video be like and thanks kuba you’re a great god of war RUclipsr
This was like one of the first things on my mind as I woke up love it!
Alright, Ragnarok came out, and we still don't know, BUT, i came up with an idea that the person who blew the horn was Atreus from future. Think about it. As Kuba said, it's obviously not an aseir god and it has to be someone, who can speak with serpent.
So it seems that Atreus found a way to travel back to the past to ask serpent about Jotuns, cause in his timeline we only have Him, Angrboda and her grandma (according to dialogue with Angrboda in epilogue), the last one won't give him any info on Jotuns, Angrboda doesn't know much about them, and the only source of information is serpent, and Thor just sent him to the past, it's all coming together.
Maybe he came back to speak to the serpent due to the search for other giants after end of gow r
@@Lars_Ziah_Zawkian Yes, that is basically what i wanted to say 😅
Very nice theory, but don't they already have jormungandr in midgard?
@@NH-hq7ly No, as i said, Thor sent Jormunganr into the GOW 2018 timeline. In epilogue Mimir mentions tracks on the lake, and understands that the serpent is now gone. I guess you meant that scene, when Atreus calls serpent before talk with Freya, but i suppose that timeline in GOW works like this:
-Thor sent Serpent to the past.
-Jormungandr from ragnarok eixsts in Midgard.
-Atreus reseurected Jormunganrd at Grylla's house.
-Serpent in Midgard dissapears.
-Serpent from Jotunheim shows up to help in Asgard.
-Sent to the GOW 2018.
-Boom! No serpent after ranarok.
-Atreus has to timetravel to GOW 2018 timeline to speak with serpent
@@Rainbow_song are your sure about that? I only heard Mimir said the one they fought in Ragnarok disappeared. The young one went back in time, the old one still here
I feel like it gets overlooked that the serpent DIDNT attack you even after being told you’re friendly with Thor, I think it’s smart enough to know it’s been sent back in time and while it can’t trust Thor’s allies, it’s not about to just attack anyone unprovoked unless it really is Thor or someone close to him.
Great video man 👌
That would be pretty awesome to see. Definitely a great theory 👌.
My theory is future atreas is the one who blew the horn
Personally my favorite theory is that Modi blew the horn to fight the serpent to try to make it up to Thor for magni’s death.
Only issue with that is the serpent would’ve definitely killed him
@@jlit5215 that was what made me think that’s why he’s so injured since he’s not able to travel back to Asgard.
@@hishedarthvader4340 nah he's injured cuz of thor
@@The-Chosen-godnot sure why you’re telling me 2 years later but aight
That horn sound is so ominous. It doesn’t sound too scary when outside with mimir, but when your in the cave I just find the sound so ominous.
Yeah it’s kinda creepy
Yoo man this theory is so sick u are Genius
Even though Jormungandr doesn't like the Aseir, they could have still blow the horn and then just hid or whatever. I understand they hate eachother but why does that mean they can't have blown the horn?
Aseir needs Jormungandr to move for some reason > Aseir blows horn > Jormungandr moves from wherever he is and looks at horn > Aseir isn't there anymore
Maybe this is unlikely but I also don't agree that the horn blower cannot possibly be associated with the Aseir simply cause they hate eachother.
Jormungandr would be dead or wounded if the Aesir blew the horn but nobody had the stomach to challenge him yet. It couldn't have been the Aesir.
@@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx Why would he be wounded? Blowing the horn doesn't mean they have to fight right? What if they blew the horn but never confronted Jormungandr?
I mean, when kratos blew the horn with memir (sorry if I mispelled his name) it took a little while for Jormungandr to show up, why couldn't the aseir have blown the horn and then just went somewhere else quickly 🤷🏽♂️
@@moty1906
Jormungandr would just ignore the horn blows of the Aesir if he is just called for no reason. If they wanted to challenge him, they will get killed on the spot.
@@moty1906
What's the point of calling the World Serpent if you cannot speak its language?
@@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx Maybe they can speak his language, this isn't debunked yet, and would call him because they need the water to lower or him to move for whatever reason and then just not confront him. I mean why would calling for someone mean they have to also confront him, I don't think that should always have to be the case.
Ragnarok spoilers:
So we just never find out then?
Nope
@@emmanper13 they must not have forgotten right? I was really really forward into finding out who it was
It's Kratos who blew the horn. (In GOW Ragnarok) Gjallarhorn transcends space and time, so this is probably plausible.
@@dr_we34 different horn. Mimir even said someone called the serpent, he was in Odin’s inner circle for hundreds of years and knows all and especially information in Heimdall and his horn. He would know the difference
@@dr_we34 that makes no sense
Yea that’s a brilliant theory - I’m impressed. Nice work !!
Wow that theory is amazing. I hope this will happen in the next game
It was me, you don’t have to theorize anymore
The only people who can blow the horn are Odin, Mimir, Atreaus, or Tyr. Mimir and Odin know all languages since they both gained the same knowledge from drinking from the well. Atreaus because obviously he can speak to his kids, and Tyr because Tyr raises Loki's kids and felt bad when Odin forced him to take the kids from Angerbota. But I believe it's Heimdall because the sounding of the horn coincides with fimblewinter and the Gallejhorn shall sound to signal the start of Ragnarok
They created a paradox the moment the World Serpent was sent back in time and I’ve been hyped for Ragnarok ever since.
Love you're theries bro so entertaining
Yoo… no lie I thought about this too. That realm was an illusion. The Reason I thought this was because of how Kratos was holding the ashes again in the new trailer
Just the bag

Cant wait for the next horn vid kap
Hi Kuba, I enjoy hearing the excitement in your voice when you talk about GOW. Keep up your fantastic dedication may it continue to bear fruit.
I wanted to say, its great to see someone pick the line from the Giant's lullaby song about the giants being hidden in time.
I did mention it on one if theory videos a few months ago. I also think that the spraying of mother's ashes will break the concealment spell and the jotuns will come forth.
Stay blessed...
With Ragnarok released, can we assume the horn was SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
the Gjallarhorn being heard across time all over the Nine Realms?
No. Makes no sense at all. Gjallahorn's only purpose is to announce Ragnarok. If it can be heard across time, it literally makes it useless. Imagin having your work alarm programmed to go off at 6am but for some mystical reason, it's sound can travel through time, making you hear it at 8pm, 9am, 3pm, etc. It makes it useless.
Also, if Gjallahorn can be heard across time... why did we hear it ONLY at THAT specific moment in 2018? Why did we not hear it before Atreus got sick? Why did we not hear it after? Why did we hear it at such an arbitrarily specific time?
Everyone that watches this video jesus loves you and repent of your sins so you can inherit God's kingdom and get the free gift of eternal life
