I love channels like these where the people who make the videos just show places in Japan with no commentary, just subtitles :) something about it is really relaxing
I’m glad that such a place exists so that women can be more comfortable and safe. It’s extremely unfortunate that it has to exist but am well unaware why it is needed. We need more here in the US. I also love the idea of a women only car on a train. The amount of times I’ve been harassed or bothered by a strange man throughout the years while taking the subway, I can literally write a novel. It’s unfortunate that I’m always carrying now.
Would never happen in 🇺🇸 you’d have lawsuits galore especially from 6ft5in Twomen banging on the door of the hotel to be let in. Very progressive society.
The problem is that women can victimize other women so claiming it's "safe" does not mean it is. Women DO harass and bother other women, women steal, women assault, women rape and women kill.
If you need women-only hotels to feel "comfortable", then travelling alone is not for you. Travelling alone is for adventure, and there is no point to it just extending your home to another country.
@@oqeufh I didn't say it is wrong to want to travel in a safe way. I am saying it is pointless to travel and expect your destination to be just like home. Plus travelling solo is not for everyone. @@oqeufh also, most places are already safe as they are without women-only hotels. Are you seriously surprised that all reputable hotels already don't allow harassment on their premises without being women-only? But nothing can be done for percieved danger. Plus women-only hotels are not necessary safer since they will be high-target area for women-related crimes.
This might be a weird thing to notice, but out of all the Japanese hotel videos I've watched, this was the first time I've seen one that had shoe lockers in front with slippers inside them. Considering how much it has been ingrained into Japanese culture to have separate sets of shoes for indoors and out, I'm surprised more hotels don't do this; the slippers are usually found by the bed
Actually in Japan, in most hotels it’s kept by the entrance of a room which is right by the bathroom usually or near the coat hanger. Hotels are western facilities therefore we walk in with shoes as it’s a lobby and hallways etc. Only when you walk inside a room we take off shoes. And outside of the US, even in a country like Canada, we take off our shoes at the entrance. It’s very weird to see Americans just walk into a home with shoes on or watch TV with shoes on, it’s not that way in many countries in the West like UK, Spain, France, where I also live we take off our shoes when we are invited into another home. Otherwise moms usually scold us even visitors.

I love capsule hotels. If any Malaysians are reading this and planning to visit Japan for the first time, I recommend staying in a capsule hotel. Don’t waste money on big hotel rooms; get that experience. There are really fancy ones too; depending on your budget
I've stayed in this Capsule hotel, it was really nice but the only thing that I didn't like it was the very thin mattress (I've stayed in other capsule hotels before and the mattresses were a bit thicker and very comfortable to sleep on) which I woke up with my body aching a lot, I asked at reception for another mattress to put on top of the other one but they didn't have it so they gave me a thin blanket instead which made no difference, so I just bent the mattress in half so I could sleep better, not the best experience sleeping. The rest of the hotel was nice though, the bathroom and the lounge were clean and the staff was friendly.
I’ve stayed at two capsule hotels for women and they are amazing, they make me actually feel safer then a actual normal hotel just in general, I really think that they need to be built more around the world and very supported, maybe it is not necessary, and we can just stay at a normal hotel or capsule hotel, but a lot of women don’t feel as safe or safe in normal ones
Im glad that this capsule hotel is still going great. There are few of my favourites hostels to stay in Japan, had closed because of COVID-19 😢 One day, I'll be here. Thank you for sharing ❤️
As a European, who can only say a few basic sentences in Japanese and otherwise can't speak and read it, I'm really happy that almost everything is there in English. Otherwise I think I would have been completely thrown out. I've heard that not many Japanese can speak English, so this is really well done. What I would personally be interested in is, how do you do that when you're hungry, go to a konbini and then can't speak Japanese. Can the cashiers and employees speak English and if not, what do you do if, for example, you are looking for something and then need help? Nevertheless, I find the idea of going to a capsule hotel designed for women only very good. I believe, it feels very safe there. Unfortunately, capsule hotels doesn't exist in Germany
Due to the coronavirus, accounting should not be too much of a problem since language selectable reimbursement machines are now in widespread use. (Sorry I don't speak English, I use a translation application.)
I'm certain that many more Japanese can speak English than English-speaking tourists can speak Japanese. I'm sure it's the same as travelling to any country that speaks another language; learn basic phrases, have either a little book or phone app that can help, use gestures, etc.
@@emilyb.8219 well actually the truth of this is that about 97% of Japanese natives aren’t actually confident at becoming a fluent English speaker, which is one of the top 5 or 10 least confident English speakers in Asia.
As a fellow European, I'm actually glad capsule hotels don't exist. Living in a coffin-like space is something I feel dehumanising, @2:40 looks like the niches at my local cemetery. It's claustrophobic. No sunlight, no windows for fresh air. I don't care about having TV screens or integrated technology, I don't need that stuff. Cramming people in impossible spaces. And they make money out of that. Sorry, but no. I don't want this to come to our culture.

This is so nice, there should be women/men only hotels everywhere! I loved the silence too, it must be so comfortable and relaxing. Thank tou for sharing 😊
I saw a few comments asking about the lock/why it cant. Its just for safety reasons, one being airflow if that was a door that could lock it would be like being in a locked cupboard meaning suffocation could happen if you cant get out. Also for disasters even in other countries and larger hotel spaces you are told to unlock your door for fire fighters and if inaccessible theyd have to break through(which wouldnt be possible in a capsule style hotel).
This is the first time I've actually watched a capsule hotel video! I thought it would be a stressful way to rest up, but it has everything one would need at an amazing price. Seems super chill in there, too.

I am not offended by your comment nor should you be by mine. I would add however, that i think we should be cautious about wanting segregated restaurants as that could result in men holding company meetings at male only restaurants which would make it harder for women to go up the career ladder.
For the record, i 100% agree with hostels being one gender, especially since in Japan there are already men only ones, and it's only fair to have the same for women.

Hi! I'm a girl who is planning on a solo trip to Japan (I've been saving for one year and plan on working another year before starting my travel to Japan). Do you have any advice since you experienced this personally?
I love this so much! Like other people here have said, it would be very nice to see women-only hotels throughout the world. It would make traveling so much safer for the solo ladies & friends
I love channels like these where the people who make the videos just show places in Japan with no commentary, just subtitles :) something about it is really relaxing

It's not sexist if it's just plain SAFE! I want to go so badly. It would make traveling much more manageable for girls with anxiety (me).
The men in these comments are telling on themselves
Why are they so mad at women for having a space where they feel safe?
I’m glad that such a place exists so that women can be more comfortable and safe. It’s extremely unfortunate that it has to exist but am well unaware why it is needed. We need more here in the US.
I also love the idea of a women only car on a train. The amount of times I’ve been harassed or bothered by a strange man throughout the years while taking the subway, I can literally write a novel. It’s unfortunate that I’m always carrying now.
Hi, I have many Japan travel videos on my channel! Check it out!😉
Would never happen in 🇺🇸 you’d have lawsuits galore especially from 6ft5in Twomen banging on the door of the hotel to be let in.
Very progressive society.
we’ve women only cars in metros in our country!
The problem is that women can victimize other women so claiming it's "safe" does not mean it is. Women DO harass and bother other women, women steal, women assault, women rape and women kill.
@Warda Wada Trans women
I would feel more comfortable traveling alone if there were more women only hotels in the world.
Yes!
If you need women-only hotels to feel "comfortable", then travelling alone is not for you. Travelling alone is for adventure, and there is no point to it just extending your home to another country.
@@yivunqp963 what’s wrong with wanting to have the freedom to travel whenever and however you want in a safe way?
@@oqeufh I didn't say it is wrong to want to travel in a safe way. I am saying it is pointless to travel and expect your destination to be just like home. Plus travelling solo is not for everyone. Especially not for people who are not prepared to handle unexpected scenarios and can only feel safe in a protected zone.
Solo travelling is no joke and if you can't take the real world. Don't do it.
The Korean spas in the USA practice the same - shoes OUT when one is IN .
I mean it’s normal for most of the world, except we don’t need to wear slippers like a granny, just feet or socks
@@thatonegamer2921 Only in the US they don’t take off their shoes. I’ve also lived in the US and they walk around living room and dining room with outside shoes. It’s unthinkable for me.

I saw a few comments asking about the lock/why it cant. Its just for safety reasons, one being airflow if that was a door that could lock it would be like being in a locked cupboard meaning suffocation could happen if you cant get out.
