- Rebel fighters find themselves in a heated battle while attacking an Imperial weapons facility...
Thanks for watching my Star Wars space battle animation! This was really fun to do, as I've worked out a lot of issues from my previous film, and am still looking forward to improving and doing more scenes in the future.
This is part of Remnant: A Star Wars Fan Series, which is meant to tell a classic Empire vs. Rebels story through a series of small vignettes, mainly space battles and lore videos.

Meanwhile on the station:
"I told them we should have put the station in a stable orbit instead of relying on repulsors to keep us geostationary but nooo.....the Governor wanted to see his precious factory when he looks up from his residence at night....now he's gonna get a real close look isn't he?!"
"Greg! Shut the hell up and help me get the escape pod open!"
Lol. 😆
“I would Tim but they don’t work most of them aren’t pressurised” “Wot” “apparently our lives a worth less than a few hundred credits”
rolfs....danged escape pods are not in working order! what do we do next..?!
The panicked wiggling on the X-Wing at 1:08 is a great touch!
"OMG THAT #%^$ STABILIZER BROKE LOOSE AGAIN"
Astromech (translated): "actually we were shot by a TIE"
"OH YA THAT'LL DO IT"
**crashes**
The shielding did nothing?
@@Generic_Noob i think it did, he was supposed to explode when hit but he only lost a engine, bad luck he crashed into the station
@@Generic_Noob Shielding comes in different varieties, and acts as as another layer of armor. If the shot is low or too the side on a deflector shield it will... deflect. But a good, square shot will still penetrate the shield.
@@EgoEroTergum oh ok
I love how the facility doesn’t turn into a nuclear bomb after being hit, it simply loses power, stops working and starts falling into the planet (since it no longer has its engines acting against the planet’s gravity)
Even if it was using engines to hold it in position, for it to "fall" like that would mean it's IN the atmosphere of the planet. Orbit decays gradually and this notion of ships doing a nose dive when disabled like an aircraft in an atmosphere is maddening.
All Star Wars films seem to share this incredibly odd notion and it's really a poor thought process. Don't get me wrong here, these vids have been entertaining but I do wish that they would at least apply some basic logic to how objects move in space and in orbit.
@@scotthalbert2583 George Lucas said he just thought it was fun and that Star Wars is just a fairy tail, so there was nothing to worry about or something like that
Here: ruclips.net/video/qmzcViqBYRw/видео.html
@@scotthalbert2583 That assumes the object is in a stable orbit, rather than just hanging above the planet using space magic. Once the space magic is deactivated it would fall.
@@psammiad "Space Magic"? It's called physics and the laws of inertia still apply in space where an object in motion will continue in motion. So a ship that becomes disabled in orbit will still continue it's trajectory in orbit until the gravity of the planet eventually causes it to come in contact with the atmosphere of the planet (if it has one) and then depending on the angle of entry the object will either skip off the atmosphere or begin burning up on entry. Not stop dead, nose down and dive into the atmosphere.
I think the torpedos hit the repulserlifts that were holding it up we’re destroyed causing it to fall back to the planet
Yeah, we're gonna need a LOT more of this!
I can't wait for a mega crossover with all the Star Wars spacebattle creators.
Yea
I wanted to see the big station hit the ground!
Makes me miss X-wing vs Tie Fighter on PC
Star Wars Squadron is promising to carry on that legacy when it comes out in Oct.
Have you heard about the XWAUpgrade project? They are making great work of modernizing and upgrading the classic X-Wing Alliance game with better graphics and even VR support!
ruclips.net/channel/UCtGoxBkM18eI4DCWFmnHBiA
I'd say, this is the next best thing to Squadrons and well worth playing a classic again.
We needs it
@@axelhopfinger533 Does it have gamepad support though? I got XWA on Steam and was heartbroken when I found out it doesn't have proper gamepad support. You CAN play it with am xbox-style gamepad, but many of the controls don't make sense (up/down on right stick for rolling instead of right/left, gor example) and there's no way to re-map them.
@@andyb1653 Well, X-Wing Alliance was originally intended for joystick control. And that's what it works best with still. Dunno about other gamepad support.
Also that shot looking down the port side of the X-Wings nose is fantastic! As was the X-Wing that lost control after being hit. This is just too damn good!
It really does feel like Star Wars, something that shouldn't be underestimated. It doesn't just look and sound like it, it *feels* like Star Wars.
I thought the same thing, real star wars
This is so fun to watch. Feels is fresh and it’s just so enjoyable
I liked it. Short and sweet. People who cut to the chase respect the viewer.
This is especially impressive given how quickly you created it after that last great animation! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Could you imagine seeing the equipment, shuttles, droids, etc drifting out of
the launch bays as the power went out
The movements of the fighters feel very organic, like you just know the feeling of the pilots flying them.
Love the manoeuvre at 0:55, I really like scenes of fighters ducking and weaving around and through space stations and ships.
My favorite part has to be the damaged X-wing losing an engine, the feel of the pilot trying to turn, and failing. More often than not WW1/WW2 fighters were not lost because of a flaming explosion but because the pilot lost control of their craft and crashed.
I appreciate the restraint of the creator to resist blowing up the station; a visible loss of power and falling to crash into the planet is a far more plausible - and dramatic - end for the station and its crew.
This clip itself felt more Star Wars than the whole Sequel Trilogy.
I watch a lot of these animations, and this one is excellent. I have a couple of points, though, that I wish film-makers would recognise:
1 - When a fighter is shot and explodes in space the explosion, smoke and debris will keep travelling at the same speed as the fighter, not suddenly stop.
2 - When something is in orbit, be it a ship, or a space station, it will not suddenly start to fall when it loses power. Similarly, a ship that loses power will not slow down and stop.
Anyone else here from Eckharts Ladder?
yo
Yes fives
Yes
And I would like to say I love the idea of giving fan projects more exposure. I wouldn't even know to look for these so I really appreciate it.
Red 5 standing by
This realy should be how the star wars shows should be more like
The Rebels just left that space station to fall onto the planet like a massive world-ending meteor.....
RedDawn370 I was wondering what the mission objective was, but your reply will suffice. I’m no Saw Gerrera, but your scenario just sounds like killing two birds with one stone. Cheers!
RedDawn370 I mean, there are loyalist civilians to the empire. But considering the lore behind this, the marren sector is not previously loyal to the imperials and thus the terrorists just committed genocide on the people they’re protecting
With any luck, the station will burn up in the atmosphere before it does damage to the ground or any civilization on the planet.
WHOA!!!! Fantastic work! Love the classic style and movement of the fighters. Looks more like the original kit-bashed models in front of a blue-screen.
TAKE NOTES, DISNEY/LUCASFILM!
I know it’s kind of cliché of me to say this but “keep doing what your doing, please”. It’s well worth it seeing this again versus the alternative.
I loved the use of the Return of the Jedi era graphics in the explosions at 1:19.
Somebody pass me a controller. I feel like I am watching a video game. Fantastic!
Those X-Wings look so good without the red markings on them!
That was beautiful! From everything like the fighters to the station! Absolutely marvelous!
I will never get this good but you inspire me nonetheless. Thanks Ecks for sending me to SkyForge. And entertaining as it is impressive. Nice work Ryan.
Feels strange seeing everything being realistic and not a damage sponge unlike Starfighter Assault.
Love it
"Terrorists attack orbital industry, killing thousands of civilian workers and millions more as the space station crashes into planet-side city"
Awesome!. I love the old-school factory too. I wonder if they'll include something like that in Squadrons.
This is so cool! I'm so excited to see, finally, a channel making videos like this!
If I had a suggestion to make here, it'd be to kind of adjust the explosion effects. You've got them so that the fireball kinda darkens into a cloud of smoke, but, as I learned from a Corridor Crew video (in the VFX Artists React series), that's not the best way to do it.
I'd love to see more debris from destroyed ships too, twisted bits spinning off in all directions, but I imagine that would take a lot of work to figure out.
I just love the correct usage of the audio.
This is is from one man, people. One man.
Cool idea would be a atmospheric dogfight with ec henry‘s tie vector vs some x wings
I love the old school Rebellion's laser sound..so unique!
Great job man! Subbed!
I love how pilots in those animations of yours actually try to dodge explosions and fragments of deatroyed fighters. It really feels more realistic
Love the fact you used one if the stations prefab stations from Xwing vs Tie Fighter, brings back memories
👏👏👏 loved it! Plz keep making these! There not long but they are awesome! 👏👏👏
To me, the frame and music at 0:29 is the quintessential definition of a Star Wars dogfight.
That was like straight Empire at War cinematic!
I think adding debris to the explosions would add a whole lot! GREAT WORK as ALWAYS! I also noticed the windows had some depth behind them, instead of just being white squares, it looked like there was something in there! I LOVE that little detail.. really nice
this is truly some Beautiful work.
Nice to see fan productions where the Rebels win for a change!
Mate! This is absolutely incredible! Keep up the amazing work. It’s so professional and amazingly executed.
Pretty good stuff. I love space battle videos no matter the genre. You've got some of the best I've seen on the Star Wars side.
Amazing work! May the force be with you, always.
Ryan and the rest of Skyforge out here making movie tier productions better then multi billion dollar companies lmao.
Love the out of focus cockpit on that one shot. Really beautiful.
I'm happily and seriously reminded of my time serving in the Secret Order of the Emperor in Star Wars TIE fighter games while watching this excellent action-adventure video you people have made; kudos and congratulations on the accomplishment you've attained here!
This is brilliant, I loved it! Just looks amazing!
Wow! Such amazing videos and dedication to these short films!
Looking good! Thanks for this. What might make it even better is to have a couple Lambdas trying to evacuate when the battle starts going bad for the station.
That cockpit view to that hard J turn sweep transition was fantastic
That truly felt like OG star wars
Really really nice, thank you for this jewel sir.
Incredible work as usual
Badass. Disney should look at these as a template for fast paced battle sequences.
the lights going out was a NICE touch!
Came from Eckharts to give my support, and my GOD are these little battles amazing dude very nicely done! Keep it up!
Wow, everything you guys do is awesome!! Many congrats!!!
Love the sound effects, soundtrack, and the model. The space station brings back video game memories.
I really likes the design of the weapons facility. Very nice!!
I love the concept for your series. Great job producing these awesome videos. I particularly like how your fighter explosions leave behind residual lingering black smoke. Definitely adds a greater sense of realism. Consider me a fan! Keep up the great work and thank you!
Now I want this to be a one-shot module for the Star Wars tabletop system!
Awesome job! Can't wait to see what you come up with next
This is amazing! So happy to see my base in it. You improved it alot! I'm very impressed :)
This is actually well made
I cannot get over how good this looks!
Eck was right, this is beautiful. I really like the subtle details you put in, such as the fact that you can hear the sirens in the background. Also hyperrealistic to the resources the rebel alliance actually would have put towards such a battle.
I know I'm late but I'm here thanks to good old Eckharts. This is some of the best fan made stuff I've seen and I love it. Instantly subbed!
Excellent. Nice one guys. Really enjoyed watching.
Those vids are awesome! Although explosions dont usually have a lot of smoke in star wars
I love star wars so I love this pls keep it up👍
I love every single one of your Star Wars films! Just the good stuff! Hooks and doesn’t let go.
But the one thing that bugs me is the smoke in the explosions. Kills the idea of the battle being in space.
Very nice animation! "We will be watching your career with great interest!"
That station is going to leave one heck of a hole when it hits that planet!
The sounds are on point!
1:13 i love these go-pro type shots so good!
I like how you don't make everything blow up for no reason. Bravo.
Great work, loving it
Also from Ecks' video. Gotta appreciate the old-school X7 Deep Space Manufacturing Facility from the retro TIE Fighter Games. Keep up the great work!
Great animation and short story
Here to support, keep up your amazing work
those puffs of smoke ar soo good!!! Well done!!
Amazing work! ❤️
Nice Work been looking for something like this and It’s great to finaliy find it
This is awesome dude
Superb!
Keep up the amazing work I love these
Really dig the cockpit scenes!
How good, that was awesome!!!
hoy kept the original Tie fighter video game factory design!!! much appreciated !! I also like how you kept the pacing of the original dodgfights
Your animation was so awesome
I really love this
Man that was excellent!!!!
Star Wars Rebellion, 1996, vibes and I LOVE IT!
That was awesome!
That was pretty intense!
I love the wing cam!!!
