For the record, if the emperor had listened to Thrawn and built the TIE Defenders instead of the Death Star, the Empire would have won. The Rebel Alliance specialized in what were effectively lightning fast cavalry attacks in fighters and small frigates. Going up against the average TIE fighter was basically no challenge for most rebels because they had superior ships and frequently, better pilots. This was due to the Empire's philosophy of "just throw a bunch of crap at the problem it will work eventually". Yes, probably. Thrawn understood strategy, Tarkin was delusional, and the lore shows that clearly. However, there were also political reasons why the Defender program never panned out. We might cover it in the future!
Consider though, without the consolidation of power that was the Deathstar, the Emperor could never hope to retain centralized control of a galaxy sized civilization. He would either have to delegate significant authority to subordinate military leaders like Thrawn and Tarkin, which likely would lead to ever increasing factionalism and infighting (The reason behind the downfall of the ancient Sith empire), or continue allowing the Senate to function as part of the government, which would serve as a rather large check to his power.

@@TheHawkeye0725 moat of canon is perfectly fine or at least no worse than legends, which had plenty of stinkers of its own. Its only really the screw ups of the sequels that have given it a bad name
Great job! If I may, I hope for LOTR you begin a series on the War of the Jewels so you can have a guide for new fans of the world in timeline order. This also would tie in nicely with the upcoming show. For Star Wars, finishing up the Galactic Civil War is a good idea. I would love videos on Star Trek, Wheel of Time, A Song of Ice and Fire (the dance of the dragons seems prudent), and Witcher which are all relevant right now.
This was wonderful to watch. Excellent selection of events, as well; with how much Star Wars material there is to cover, this honestly felt like a very natural place to start, as the rest of the series will feel like "an overall examination of the Galactic Civil War" rather than "let's break down the movies. Also, my hat is off to the artist and animators. The style looks great, and leaves room to blend the CGI style of the show with other mediums in star wars (live action, comics, and books). Great job by everyone involved!
The quality of the videos your team puts out never fail to impress me, the narration is clear and engaging and the visuals just step it up even more, thanks for the hard work!
I remember every scene from the series at every moment of the episode. I was like "oh I remember it's in season 3" or "oh and this is when [this thing] happened in season 4!". It's so interesting to see it from a "larger scale" perspective. Great work! Can't wait for episode 2!

This video was incredible. As a life long Star Wars, I absolutely loved it. Everything about it was great, from the unique storytelling style to the art (especially in the battle scenes). I can’t wait for more
i loved the first video and love the tolkien universe, but this one just knocked it out of the park. can’t wait to see what else this channel is capable of producing about the star wars universe
I love the 3d models for the Battle for Attolon. That was amazing. You perfectly captured the complexities of that battle. How the Rebels were forced into open battle, how they conducted their strategy. I love the show, but it's fun to see what's happening during that battle from this perspective. I hope you cover the Clone Wars too.
This was excellent; very clear and informative. I was slightly surprised that Enfyst Nest and the Savareen insurgents didn't get a mention, but then again, we don't know much about them or their role (if any) in the formation of the Rebel Alliance. Well done, folks. I'll look forward to the next one.
Big Star Wars fan, and fan of the channel for quote some time now so I'm very excited to see this series! I'm glad you pointed out the reasoning behind Mon Mothma's decision to not send help at Atollon. I think it's easy for people to see her in a bad light for that decision, Thrawn specifically wanted to draw out as many Rebels as he could, and exposing the entire Rebellion prematurely would have been a massive failure for her.
If there were RUclips Emmy's, y'all should be the clear winners! Absolutely love all of the content. As a diehard LOTR and Star Wars fan, this is just what I needed to finish off 2021! Thank you!
It’s so cool to the characters from the show but in the context of a history video. It puts the events into perspective and gives you a deeper understanding of what’s happening. Can’t wait for the next episode
Love both your Star Wars vids so far and I await all you’ll cover. Provides a nice alternative point of view from the films by treating it as a legit military documentary series.
I think this channel will explode! It's such an amazing idea. Maybe one day you'll cover a fight or two from The Expanse universe? Or maybe even the Stormlight Archives. I haven't seen any big RUclips channels covering those books.
I enjoyed the video; it’s in the line of great documentary shows of the past and they can give noobs the grounding to understand the larger stories in Star Wars, Star Trek and other sci-fi and fantasy universes. Keep it coming!
I'm grateful for this, didn't want it to end actually. Excited for more. Love to see more universes in the 'kings and generals' style. I appreciate everyone involved in this production, it's really rather good. Thank you.
Ok. I'm enjoying the video. But 2 things: 1. Don't give us a verbal narration, and then a big wall of text to read telling something completly different. It's difficult to pay attention and understand what it's being said in both without pausing the video. Like you do at the start with the crawling text, and your explanation of Tarkin's doctrine. 2. The map of the galaxy is a bit confusing without also showing the lines of the major hyperlane routes, or the circles dividing the different rims and areas of the galaxy. And showing the planets and the names of them so big in the screen makes it a bit confusing, making the galaxy look smaller than it actually is. But that might just be me. Also, a minor detail: Darth Vader also took part in the "pacification" campaign of Mon Cala next to Tarkin. But nonehtheless, you have made a great job.
Thank you for the feedback! 1. Good point here. I am trying to reconcile the fact that we want to give you guys more info with the flow. We'll try to find a better balance next time. 2. Initial map had borders and more planets, but it got too huge, need to find a way to do it better. 3. I know. Didn't want to show Vader in two places
Without hesitation I can say it was one of the top five star wars documentarys I have ever seen, with an outstanding art design. And I hope for clone war content in future. I would only like to see more details added as the one possible improvement, for instance that Mon Cala is also known as Dac.
As for starwars, I highly recommend going with legends materials. There's ALOT more to draw from. And in my opinion generally better written than anything that's "canon" from Disney.
If you ever did this for like every battle in Star Wars (or even just most of them) you would be a literal hero to all star wars mega-nerds. It looks amazing, the individual battles are my favorite part of this video over the large galaxy-wide map.
This has definitely got me excited for the future of this channel. I was looking forward to the kng form of covering events in fiction verse the usual lore video of stills and art. Hope to see some Warhammer, battle tech, elder scrolls, and others.
The storytelling in the various animated series, given the format, provide the best available in the Star Wars universe. Dave Filoni's lead on the storyline through the Clone Wars, then Rebels, and now with the Bad Batch are far more engaging than the actual movies.
Didn’t think you guys could pull off the fantasy as well as your historical channel, but I was so wrong. This along with the lord of the rings video is amazing. Keep up the good work! Been subscribed to K&G for a couple years and I love the continual progression and ambition.
Thanks for doing these videos. I’m loving this channel! But maybe do a pause on the Witcher and Warhammer stuff and go back doing more Star Wars? A couple of requests too; I would love to see Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series and Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series done in this History Channel war documentary style
I hope you do some legends timeline videos as well, since the disney timeline pales in comparison of detail and quality. There’s a lot more interesting stuff there to deal with!
Just wondering when the time comes to cover the story of the galaxy after the death of Darth Sidious will you make the documentaries based on the actual original novel or the atrocious trilogy sequel? I really like the fictional story documentaries though. I voted for Warhammer but I guess I have to wait a bit longer haha
Omg... this is absolutely incredible and I hope you do so many more videos in this universe... I swear you guys hit it out of the park with every video
I think it should be noted that the destruction of the fuel supply on Lothal is what innevitably destroyed the Empire in the long-run as during that moment, Thrawn was arguing that the Imperial resources are better allocated to hist Starfighter program instead of the Death Star. As, just as Thrawn pointed out, a flexible navy is the best counter against a widespread galactic rebellion, contrast to the Death Star which can only bring the presence and might of the Empire to one star system at a time. Governor Pryce's blunder has sullied any chance of this and the arguments put out by the Grand Admiral has now become null and void, which innevitably lead to the events of the Battle of Yavin and the eventual downfall of the Empire.
Can you guys do a series on the Expanded Universe? There is just a sea of information on it, and its wars make some sense. The Empire for example didn't completely disintegrate without a trace 2 years after Endor. Instead the New Republic was formed, and a long war continued. Also, two more words that show how covering the EU works these are: Yuuzhan Vong.
As a die hard Star Wars and Kings and Generals fan, this is like an early birthday gift!!! Really enjoyed the video, keep up the good work we really appreciate it👍🏾💯
I am loving these documentaries and I can't wait to see what you'll do next. If I could leave one suggestion for you: if you have a long text on the screen, such as the intro or Tarkin's quote, don't talk about something else at the same time. It's hard to listen to you and read the text at the same time. Keep up the amazing work!
I just started watching this channel after seeing its trailer on Kings and Generals. I love the idea of sci-fi and fantasy films and books covered as if they were historical events! I think that the Mad Max films, Namely The Road Warrior and Fury Road would be awesome to cover on the channel as there is plenty of action to cover, haha! either way, keep up the awesome work!
Just found your channel, and can I just say the way you present the information both visually pleasing and lore accurate is awesome. Can't wait to see what battles you cover in the 40k universe.
Wow, great video! I'm honestly impressed by animation this time. I'm wondering how many more sci-fi series you'll cover. I hope you can cover some great Anime series like the Legend of the Galactic Heroes or the Mobile Suit Gundam Universal Century timeline because those series has amazing battles and political intrigues. Particularly the Legend of the Galactic Heroes where each fleet has thousands of battleships duking it out in a massive civil war.
Oh this channel has just opened so many doors, I cant wait to see what battles you cover from a multitude of different universes! Its gonna be so hype!
A really helpful summary, including as it does a starmap. I love to see where all these locations are, in relation to each other and to the Empire / Rebels. For reasons of the plot and the speed of the stories, one never really sees these practical issues come up onscreen during the cartoons.
Totally subscribed. Love your visuals for Atollon and Lothal. Looking forward to Scarif, Yavin, Mako Ta (though I still don't like those Mon Cal ships designs from that comic arc), Hoth and Endor :)

As a fan of both star ears and your channel. This was phenomenal. The models of the space battle and city especially. I don't know if you were already a star wars fan or not, but your coverage of the Lothal campaign was flawless
Ah yes, star ears, my favorite.
I’m glad they’re giving canon stories a chance unlike the gate keepers of the fandom
Yes! The First Age never gets as much love as everything else in the Legendarium.
Love these videos. The maps and images are great. Timeline storytelling is done in an understandable manner. Dig it with toast!
The quality of the videos your team puts out never fail to impress me, the narration is clear and engaging and the visuals just step it up even more, thanks for the hard work!
Thanks for watching!
I remember every scene from the series at every moment of the episode. I was like "oh I remember it's in season 3" or "oh and this is when [this thing] happened in season 4!". It's so interesting to see it from a "larger scale" perspective. Great work! Can't wait for episode 2!
those three dee rendering were aaaawesomeeeee! Much better battle overview than Anything they ever were able to show in the films. keep up the excellent work guys
More on the way!
I have a -bad- good feeling about this.
_May the Force be with this channel._
And with you!
This video was incredible. As a life long Star Wars, I absolutely loved it. Everything about it was great, from the unique storytelling style to the art (especially in the battle scenes). I can’t wait for more
Super happy to hear that!
This was awesome, and I loved it. Your video finally made it all on a macro level make sense...Thank you so much.
Thank you!
i loved the first video and love the tolkien universe, but this one just knocked it out of the park. can’t wait to see what else this channel is capable of producing about the star wars universe
Glad to hear that! Episode #2 will be better, we learned a bunch of new things!
Thanks! We will!
Off to a great start! Looking forward to what you may cook up for Legacy, The Old Republic and Clone War eras. =D
So much content on the way!
The clone wars series would be so amazing
Big Star Wars fan, and fan of the channel for quote some time now so I'm very excited to see this series!
I'm glad you pointed out the reasoning behind Mon Mothma's decision to not send help at Atollon. I think it's easy for people to see her in a bad light for that decision, Thrawn specifically wanted to draw out as many Rebels as he could, and exposing the entire Rebellion prematurely would have been a massive failure for her.
She's better than Hoda from the SWTLJ
Mon Mothma gets flack, but you can see what she is trying to do
If there were RUclips Emmy's, y'all should be the clear winners! Absolutely love all of the content. As a diehard LOTR and Star Wars fan, this is just what I needed to finish off 2021! Thank you!
There are, but we are never winning those. :-) Thanks for the kind words!
It’s so cool to the characters from the show but in the context of a history video. It puts the events into perspective and gives you a deeper understanding of what’s happening. Can’t wait for the next episode
This is an amazing tactical view of the leading moments of the rebel alliance. Great job.
Absolutely first class! Just amazing! Fantastic work and so appreciated! I look forward to few episodes thank you so much
Love both your Star Wars vids so far and I await all you’ll cover. Provides a nice alternative point of view from the films by treating it as a legit military documentary series.
Fantastic video, love that you guys are doing fictional battles now. Keep up the good work!
Will do!
It's surreal hearing Star Wars get the Kings & General treatment, but very well done. Love the new channel.
Please cover the Clone Wars as well. there are so many battles there to look into.
The quality of your videos are amazing! Why have I only found this now!? I'm subscribed to your other channel but this is amazing!
As a Star Wars fan, this is amazing!!!!! Keep it up!!!
Star Wars!!! This is great, and hope you guys keep the wonderful series going. May the force be with you.
We will! May the Force be with you!
I’m so excited for this channel. The videos so far have been excellent. Will you guys cover clone wars and old republic?
Planning to!
This is truly amazing, as I, both a avid fan of star wars, and kings and generals, see both in one place. Keep up the good work
Thank you! More on thee way!
"This is where the fun begins" - Anakin Skywalker; Revenge of the Sith
And, obviously, that is where the fun ended for him
I think this channel will explode! It's such an amazing idea.
Maybe one day you'll cover a fight or two from The Expanse universe? Or maybe even the Stormlight Archives. I haven't seen any big RUclips channels covering those books.
Animation and styling are on point!!!!
Keep the good work, gained a sub
Welcome aboard!
An amazing video. Really blowing me away with the incredible graphics and great detail. I hope this quality will sustain!
I’ve been looking forward to this
I enjoyed the video; it’s in the line of great documentary shows of the past and they can give noobs the grounding to understand the larger stories in Star Wars, Star Trek and other sci-fi and fantasy universes. Keep it coming!
I'm gonna love this channel! I just know it.
I'm grateful for this, didn't want it to end actually. Excited for more.
Love to see more universes in the 'kings and generals' style.
I appreciate everyone involved in this production, it's really rather good. Thank you.
Really liked both the videos , looking forward to more . Can you also make such videos for 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and 'The Wheel of Time' , please ?
Now I am understanding little bit of Star war. Great video make more. Such a hard work doing once again great work bro
This was really cool. You should do Clone wars, especially Umbara. That would be really cool, especially with the 3D animation you have
Amazing video as always. Kudos to the animators, they did a stellar job!
Thank you!
So the battle of Anatollon was a tactical defeat for the rebels
But a stratification defeat for the empire.
This is so cool it's basically kings and generals video for star wars and I love it
Ok. I'm enjoying the video. But 2 things:
What this guy said 100%
Without hesitation I can say it was one of the top five star wars documentarys I have ever seen, with an outstanding art design. And I hope for clone war content in future. I would only like to see more details added as the one possible improvement, for instance that Mon Cala is also known as Dac.
Thank you! More on the way
I love fictional history as much as actual history. What a fantastic job!
Thank you!
So glad you guys made a fantasy channel I love the regular kings and generals but this is awesome
As for starwars, I highly recommend going with legends materials. There's ALOT more to draw from. And in my opinion generally better written than anything that's "canon" from Disney.
I think the canon has many good stories
If you ever did this for like every battle in Star Wars (or even just most of them) you would be a literal hero to all star wars mega-nerds. It looks amazing, the individual battles are my favorite part of this video over the large galaxy-wide map.
Thanks! We will do our best to improve!
Is this real life? Still can’t believe Kings and Generals crew are this amazing. From strength to strength!
This has definitely got me excited for the future of this channel. I was looking forward to the kng form of covering events in fiction verse the usual lore video of stills and art. Hope to see some Warhammer, battle tech, elder scrolls, and others.
When will u guys make videos about GATE Thus the JSDF Fought There, Battle: Los Angeles and more?
Honestly, not planned for now. My anime is weak. :-)
@@WizardsandWarriors welp what about Battle: Los Angeles or the tv series of the Navy SEALs' missions?
@@WizardsandWarriors Oh yes pls do Battle: Los Angeles too
@@WizardsandWarriors Whacha ya mean by “My anime is weak”? Is that a joke because I don’t get it.
@@dalemacio1055 yep
This was an awesome documentary one of my favorites keep up the good work!!
The storytelling in the various animated series, given the format, provide the best available in the Star Wars universe. Dave Filoni's lead on the storyline through the Clone Wars, then Rebels, and now with the Bad Batch are far more engaging than the actual movies.
I’m inclined to agree
Didn’t think you guys could pull off the fantasy as well as your historical channel, but I was so wrong. This along with the lord of the rings video is amazing. Keep up the good work! Been subscribed to K&G for a couple years and I love the continual progression and ambition.
Thank you very much! More on the way!
Please make a video about the Battle for Doldrey from Berserk!!!
Loving the entertaining professionalism you have brought with you to cover these new topics
Thank you! :-)
I have been a big fan of kings in general for a long time now and I think this is the perfect step for the channel to go
Wow cool 😎
I'm a big fan of Star Wars and History and I'm so glad your're doing videos of both things! Love it!
More on the way on both ends!
Really enjoyed the video, keep up the good work we really appreciate it👍🏾💯
Hah! I can't believe this 🤣😂
Good? Bad? :-)
@@WizardsandWarriors good for sure! I'm a huge Star Wars fan.
@@WizardsandWarriors both 😂
I am loving these documentaries and I can't wait to see what you'll do next. If I could leave one suggestion for you: if you have a long text on the screen, such as the intro or Tarkin's quote, don't talk about something else at the same time. It's hard to listen to you and read the text at the same time. Keep up the amazing work!
Two of my favorite things together, you're training is now complete.
Good :-)
I just started watching this channel after seeing its trailer on Kings and Generals. I love the idea of sci-fi and fantasy films and books covered as if they were historical events! I think that the Mad Max films, Namely The Road Warrior and Fury Road would be awesome to cover on the channel as there is plenty of action to cover, haha! either way, keep up the awesome work!
"And I would have gotten away with crushing those rebels if it wasn't for those meddling Space Whales!" - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Yes man, thank you for this channel, huge fan of the main...but this I appreciate for more lol 😆 as someone who loves lore this will be great.
Just found your channel, and can I just say the way you present the information both visually pleasing and lore accurate is awesome.
Can't wait to see what battles you cover in the 40k universe.
Brilliant video, I can't wait for more. What we need is the Sabbat world crusade and Horusy Heresy videos.
holly shit yes. imagine them depicting the massive scale of warhammer
Yep, so many things planned or in the works or even done!
