Practices like sacrificing animal's lives was not the part of the original and pure Hindus(Aryans) . (No offence)

Basically, Hinduism is not a religion. But, It is a way of life. If you observe even today, each region has its own traditions and their deity they want to worship. This is not limited only within India. In Ancient Times, This culture was strongly rooted across South East Asia. The influence reached as far as Korea and Japan. Some elements of Hinduism have reached as far as Japan and Korea in the East through Buddhism. In fact, Buddha himself was born in this faith.
Pls don't call it Hinduism rather call it Sanatan dharma that's better and legitimate. Cause it's no where mentioned in religious text as "HINDU" or "HINDUISM"

Came together and gave it a level playing field as it's a platform where diff cultures of ancient India respected and worshipped together...... It's sad that people are unaware of our history... After next day of marriage they bring the king and queen in separate chariot roaming the madurai city..
Kalazhaghar is another deity in our city he is brother of meenakshi ...
He always arrives late to his sister's marriage
He'll get angry and move back to his place the day after the chariot he will be moving towards meenakshi temple and he will go to Vaigai River (The water festival )

Scholars from all backgrounds studied in the ancient universities. All indians are descendents of the IVC (largest genetic contributor). Sanskrit wouldn't exist without tamils impact on its grammer and syntax and tamil has some 40% sanskrit vocab. Cholans, chezhans, and pandiyans identified with solar, fire, & lunar dynasties. Shaivism spread to all of india pre islamic rule before vaishnavism started to spread. Shaiva Siddhartha and sankhya are almost identical philosophies and both are the oldest with one being from Agamic (dravidian) and the other vedic. Puranic hinduism is the mixing of agamic abd vedic culture. Maybe learn your history, lol

You should watch Lord Ganesha (ganpati) festival 🙏 & Gudhi Padawa festival of Maharashtra and we have other festival too there are so many different different festival & culture in India that's also amazing too watch
You can watch "nasik dhol" in ganpati mahotsav celebrated every year in Maharashtra... Also you can watch "navratri garba" of Gujarat celebrated in every "navratri festival".It is festival of warrior goddess durga(also called ambaa) celebrate for 9 nights. That's why it called "nav(nine)+ratri(night)".we play garba whole night and also do normal routine at day... It is tiring but also lot of fun for whole nine days. Also it is hard to get "partyplot pass".hope you can guys watch it and enjoy.

According to legend Shri Parvathi Devi consort of Lord Shiva born as the Daughter of Pandya king and her name is Meenakshi, whose capital city was Madurai. She ruled the city and when she was to be married she met Lord Shiva and became his consort. This Wedding festival is what you witnessed. Then Lord Kallazhagar (Vishnu) the brother of Meenakshi starts from his place Azhagar Kovil which is some distance away from Madurai and he came on a horse. As he was also a king there were many receptions to honor him on his way. Hence he could not reach Madurai on the Designated time and meanwhile his cousin who resides in Madurai itself called Koodal Azhagar performed the ritual as another Brother and the marriage was completed. Kallazhagar who came in the horse was sad and entered the River Vaigai to calm himself. Devotees gather in Lakhs for this Chithirai Festival and get the Blessings of Lord Shiva, Meenakshi and Kallazhagar in one go. This festival began during the period of Naikkar Kings to unite Saivism and Vaishnavism two major sects of Hindu way of worshipping. The river Vai - Kai is also the first two letters of Vaikundam and Kailasam the abodes Shri Vishnu and Shri Shiva. You are fortunate to watch this and I appreciate your curiosity to know about this. Meenakshi means the beauty who had fish like eyes and Azhagar means most handsome. Lord Shiva of this city is called Soma Sundarar again a handsome man with well built physique. Somam is a creeper from it they prepared Soma Rasam a permitted heavenly wine!

Iam from madurai...its not only a festival its a pride of madurai.its a wedding ceremony between meenakshi and sundareswarar..meenakshi is a godess where her brother is kal alagar .when alagar got the msg tat meenakshi is going to marry. he came to see meenakshi through vaigai river but before his arrival they got married .so alagar got angry and he go back to his place. This is the whole story.
