Just like Lord Vishnu is worshipped in East India as Lord Jagannath, similarly he (Lord Vishnu) is worshipped in south India in the form of Lord Venkateshwar.
The same lord Vishnu is worshipped at every corner of India with different names and forms.

Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam is the first and pre-dawn seva performed to Lord Venkateswara at Sayana Mandapam inside sanctum sanctorum of Tirumala Temple. 'Suprabhatam' is a Sanskrit term which literally means ‘Good Morning’ and is meant to wake up the Lord from His celestial sleep. Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam hymns were composed by Prathivadhi Bhayankaram Annangaracharya during 13th century and consists of 70 slokas in four parts including Suprabhatam(29), Stotram(11), Prapatti(14) and Mangalasasanam(16).
Tallapaka Annamacharya (Annamayya), the poet saint of 14th century, one of the greatest Telugu poets and a great devotee of Lord Venkateswara, had sung 32000 songs in praise of Lord Venkateswara. All his songs which are in Telugu and Sanskrit, are referred to as Sankirtanas and are classified as Sringara Sankirtanalu and Adhyatma Sankirtanalu.

There is something special in the Tirumala Idol. What the girl said is true, you get a sense of peace just looking at the idol. I remember the first time I went to see the idol it was with my friends. None of us are religious we went there for the adventure. But after climbing such steep steps, waiting for hours and hours, eating free food offered by the temple finally seeing the idol you get a sense of accomplishment and peace. It makes you feel it's worth it. Amazing thing is such a beautiful huge Idol is just lightened by two oil lamps! It will add to the atmosphere and create a sense of mystery and aura around the idol.

Just dont go as a westerner, but as a devotee and you'll be accepted, since this is a SANATHANA DHARMA temple. Wear simple clothes as the people, you're seeing and you'll be allowed. I did see few when I'd visited a while ago. If you take the route up, then take the SRIVAARI METTU, 2 kms straight up, though physically demanding but spiritually fulfilling, though its your wish. Namaste for reacting to this video. FYI, The total distance by SRIVARI METTU, is 2.1 km OR 2388 steps from the bottom of the hill. Sri Venkateswara is a 9th avatara of Sri VIshnu. This temple feeds roughly 123 people er minute with collections over 16M USD everyday. The money thats given to the temple by devotees is used to run small primary schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges, a university, a medical school, an engineering school and several more hospitals. There are also several temples where hair is offered to GOD as submitting to GOD. That TTD and Sri Venkateswara temple for you.

I was smiling all the way and waiting for you to make the connection between Krishan and Balaji, both are same. I visited when I was 5yr old and almost every year after that… Tirupati temple is different energy and so powerful you will feel right when you are facing Shree Balaji …. You may have come across this temple as world richest temple… until the temple in Kerala was found. And by the way I once stood in a queue for 26hrs and I am sure I see more than 50000 devotees in a day. Another key bhramostav, is all about Krishna/Vishnu … just culture is different.

Group of 7 mountains together form the face of Lord Vishnu when looked from certain regions. 1 mountain become the crown, 1 become its forehead, 1 its nose, 1 its lips, 1 its chin and so on... I observed this from train just a few kms away from those range, and googled it to found that its actually true. I am still astonished of why they didn't mention this fact in the documentary. By the way, I visited this divine spot in June this year.

Lord Sri Venkateswara, a Manifestation of Lord ShriVishnu is the Presiding Deity of the Tirupati Temple. It is indeed the fact that the Moolavirat is Swayambhu (self manifested). Also the deity consists power of trimurthi: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, and some sects believe that Lord Venkateswara consists power of Shakthi and Skanda also. Sage Annamacharya praised Lord Venkateswara as the supreme Lord who appears Lord Dattatreya for yogis, Shiva for shaivithies and whatever form they worship, Lord Venkateswara appears like that and hailed Lord Venkateswara is the Lord Vishnu as the root of all Gods.
In the 12th century, Ramanujacharya visited Tirupati for settling a dispute that arose between the Saivites and Vaishnavites regarding the nature of the deity set up in the Tirumala temple. But before he came, the Deity did not hold any weapons, nor did He have the Sacred Tilak (Marking) on the forehead! Due to this, many people from different sects took advantage and began announcing the Deity to be Lord Shiva by the Shaivites, Goddess Shakti by the Shaktaayits and Skanda by the Skandas. When the Shaktaayits began to announce Balaji as Shakti, they performed Vamacharya, a practice of animal-sacrifice in front of the Lord. Blood would spill all over the place, and the innocent animals would get killed in front of the Lord. But they are fortunate enough to behold the Lord at the time of death and are surely transferred to the Spiritual Kingdom of Balaji, Vaikuntha. Different people started their own practices and implemented differetn kinds of worship which created chaos for a prolonged time in Tirupati. But that ended when Ramanujacharya, the incarnation of Adi Shesh came to Tirupati to settle the dispute and defeat the illogical arguements posed by the people of these various sects, regarding whether He is Shiva, Shakti, Skanda or Vishnu Himself.
Ramanujacharya, defeated all of them, establishing the fact that the Deity is Vishnu, by providing Scriptural Evidences. He then agreed to a challenge by them that they would keep the Shankha and Chakra on one side of the Lord and the Trishul (Trident which Lord Shiva and Shakti, and even Skanda sometimes hold) on the other side. They would close the doors and observe what the Lord has held in His Lotus Hands the next day and that would justify His identity. Ramanujacharya very calmly sat in the Temple Mandapa, meditating on The Lord. The Next day, everyone rushed inside to check and to their amazement, the Lord was holding Shankha and Chakra in both of His Lotus Hands!
Ramanuja streamlined the rituals at Tirumala temple according to Vaikanasa Agama tradition and introduced the recitation of Naalayira Divya Prabandham. He also set up Tirupati Jeeyar Mutt in 1119AD in consultation with Tirumalai Ananthalwan to institutionalize service to the Lord and supervise the temple rituals. The Jeeyars to this day ensures that the rituals ordained by Ramanuja are observed. The deity is believed as old as Shila thoranam in the Tirumala. Tirumala has tremendous fame from the ancient time. North Indians call this deity as 'Balaji'. He attracts the devotees at first sight, then devotees are attracted to visit multiple times to the temple. It is said by the scriptures, Lord Sri Venkateswara or Balaji is the saving God for the suffering people in the Kali Yuga. Emperors like Sri Krishnadeva Raya and many devotees are praised him, whoever take Darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara in the Tirumala never return unsatisfied.

28:32 actually there ARE icons of Lord Krishna as well as of Lord Rāma in the temple itself. I don't think they showed it here but it's definitely there.
The temple has an ancient idol of Lord Krishna with His wife Rukmini (Goddess Lakshmi). Lord Rāma, along with Mother Sītā and Lakshman (His brother), is also installed in the temple.
You can read about it here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirumala_Krishna_Idol

As per Vaikhanasa Agamas, Venkateswara is represented by five deities(berams) including the Moolavirat which are together referred to as Pancha beramulu (Pancha means five;Beram means Deity). The five deities are Dhruva Beram (Moolavar), Kautuka Beram, Snapana Beram, Utsava Beram, Bali Beram. All the pancha berams are placed in the Garbha griha under Ananda Nilayam Vimanam, as shown in the documentary:
    (1) Moolavirat or Dhruva Beram- In the centre of Garbha griha, under the Ananda Nilayam Vimana, the Moolavirat of Venkateswara is seen in standing posture on lotus base, with four arms, two holding Shanka and Chakra and one in Varada posture and other in Kati posture. This deity is considered the main source of energy for the temple and adorns with the Vaishnavite nama and jewels including vajra kiritam (diamond crown), Makarakundalas, Nagabharana, Makara Kanti, Saligrama haram, Lakshmi haram. Venkateswara's consort, Lakshmi stays on the chest of the Moolavirat as Vyuha Lakshmi.
    (2) Bhoga Srinivasa or Kautuka Beram -- This is a small one-foot (0.3 m) silver deity which was given to the temple in 614 AD by the Pallava Queen Samavai for conducting festivals. Bhoga Srinivasa is always placed near the left foot of Moolavirat and is always connected to the main deity by a holy Sambandha Kroocha. This deity will receive many daily sevas(pleasures) on behalf of Moolavar and hence known as Bhoga Srinivasa(In Telugu: Bhoga means Pleasure). This deity receives Ekanthaseva daily and SahasraKalasabhisheka on Wednesdays.
    (3) Ugra Srinivasa or Snapana Beram - This deity represents the fearsome (Telugu: Ugra means angry) aspect of Lord Venkateswara. This deity was the main processional deity until 1330 CE when it was replaced by the Malayappa Swami deity as once ordered by The Lord Himself to the devotees there, due to the surroundings once catching fire as soon as The Deity was brought outside for Brahmostavam and came in contact with the Sunlight. Ugra Srinivasa remains inside the sanctum sanctorum and comes out on a procession only one day in a year: on Kaishika Dwadasi, before the sunrise, so that no sunlight falls on the Deity. This deity receives daily abhishekam on behalf of Moolavirat, giving the name Snapana Beram(Sanskrit: Snapana means cleansing)
    (4) Malayappa Swami or Utsava Beram - Malayappa is the processional deity (Utsava beram) of the Temple and is always flanked by the deities of his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. This deity receives all festivals like Brahmotsavams, Kalyanotsavam, Dolotsavam, Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra deepalankarana seva, Padmavati parinyotsavams, pushpapallaki, Anivara asthanam, Ugadi asthanam etc.
    (5) Koluvu Srinivasa or Bali Beram- Koluvu Srinivasa represents Bali Beram. Koluvu Srinivasa is regarded as the guardian deity of the temple that presides over its financial and economic affairs. Daily Koluvu seva(Telugu: Koluvu means engaged in) will be held in the morning, during which, the previous day's offerings, income, expenditures are notified to this deity, with a presentation of accounts. Panchanga sravanam also will be held at the same time during which that particular days Tithi, sunrise and sunset time, nakshatra are notified to the Venkateswara.
