It's like a breath of fresh air to see these kids play and enjoy old music I listened to growing up. I'm 46 and this makes me feel young again as well.

I'm the same age and yes indeed. Remember this music was considered devil worship (granted they're were some who song about satan.. But) in the 80's. Nobody cared to listen or look at the lyrics. They already had their minds made up.

This is a very hard song to cover. I think they did okay, only because i've seen much much worse, but it's still kinda sloppy from just about everyone on stage. Everyone is going after the singer but they all contributed to mediocre performance. ...bad timing, sloppy playing, missed parts, etc.
Both Lauren and Fabian had great careers in School of Rock and Allstars !!

Just listening to Master of puppets demo track from late June 1985 and it sounds so so familiar to this version, thee rawness of it all is just parallel.
I echo all the great comments on Ms Connor, but the thing that gets me is that she is so in her element. You can tell she loves doing this, and its an honest performance...straight from the heart! She just glows and demands attention, but in a humble way. Take it from an old guy...I performed often at this age and a little older and then life happened, and it left a huge void in me that took years to adjust to.
Wow,this girl Lauren can shred. Her tone is perfect and she is in the right key and plays flawlessly. I'm so happy there are kids like her with rock and roll and metal in their very souls and not listening to that foul mouthed hack Cardi B
She won the School of Rock shredding contest at Summerfest one year. She has since graduated and has a band in the Chicago area called Serendipity.
MidWest Concert Video Actually she now plays in a band called Catfight who mostly plays summer street festivals and private shows. Having a great time with it.

Wow wow wow what can I say I mean you kids nailed it I mean that is one of my favorite songs off the Master of Puppets album and the girl who was doing lead guitar solo I've got to give her props for a job well done on nailing that guitar solo I know Kirk Hammett amazed at the way she did his solo and all I can say now is rock on boys and girls rock on 🤘

@@MidWestConcertVideo2 Lauren is not with Serendipity any more. She is with Catfight which played a ton of festivals last summer. Not so much anymore, unfortunately.

The female lead has that rare quality called "presence." Not many do, especially at her age.
Just shot her last regular season School of Rock show. Actually, there is one more performance tomorrow at noon at Cobra Lounge - the Jacksons, which means she plays those parts that Eddie Van Halen played. Then she goes on tour with the School of Rock AllStars.
This young lady probably has a great career in rock if she wants it.
As her father I can attest that we go to a lot of concerts which she passes off as 'educational'. Perhaps she's right. lol

I don't think I've ever seen a School of Rock cover any Be Bop Deluxe. I'll pass the suggestion along.

Upon closer inspection, it appears that Fabian is playing a Fender and so is the bass. Lauren however is playing the new kid on the block guitar.

Despite rumors, nobody kidnapped these kids and forced them to learn how to play like this - they did it on their own (with a bunch of help from their teachers at the School of Rock.)

The lead guitarist Lauren Conner is an "AllStar" - the very top of the program - and went on tour last year, playing a whole bunch of venues and Lollapalooza. She also won a shredding contest at Summerfest. She's definitely going to have a career in music.
My daughter goes to School of Rock. I predict either a laundry list of problems or great rewards for her due to her overwhelming desire to sneak a Mercyful Fate song into their set.
Knew a girl at the Oak Park School of Rock who was similarly obsessed with _ELP._ I've seen Music Directors successfully lobbied by the kids to put songs into the set - like one guitarist who convinced the director that he could handle Joe Satriani's _Summer Song._

Hmmmmm. It's funny, I used to go see Metallica back in the day in bars n such... Lol they never sounded as good as these kids. It's different with a female lead. This song needs the growl on the low end....but OMG. That lady on lead guitar.... How can she sound soooooooo clean.... Is she a cylon or something. Jeeeze I sat with eyes closed and listened a second time the whole band is tight and Clean , but lead guitar is wow. She is 🔥
