I just read the bit about the drummer having to play quietly - like asking a dog not to hunt - asking a bird to not fly - unnatural lol - but she pulled it off - you could tell she wanted to just Neil Pert the heck out of the toms lol
Seeing and hearing those young folks handling progressive rock with such soul and dedication gives me hope on the future of music... not everything is lost ! That was a brilliant performance, you can be proud of you. But must remain focused on working, and working again.
I've been doing all ages metal/rock minifests for a year now, specifically for this age audience and performers. The kids these days are MILES ahead of us. I've had first timer bands that were absolutely ready to just go on the road, as far as talent goes. New learning methods, having access to multitrack recording equipment with so little money, education.. Of course one thinks what if we had all that but.. things being better is not wrong. Also: the audience has been amazing. We were little shits at that age, we have had zero problems while having more audience in all ages than in our "R" rated stuff. We have safe space rules, and the little bastards fucking respect that. 10/10 experience, this generation of rockers fucking just rock. I'm in the local live music association, our mission is to "plug the holes" when it comes to live music, if something is not supplied by commercial forced or by "the government" we will do it, we are celebrating our 45th year now. The idea of organizing all ages events came from the teens. They just don't have places to watch live music, so.. since we are old fucks we now have the resources to do it, we have the space, the equipment needed to do it, the staff required.. and it has been a success that has been recognized nationally. Other cities are now copying us. So.. organizing gigs for this generation might be something that has demand but no supply in your hometown. It would be AWESOME if that idea would spread. It really has been eye opening for a 50 year old veteran, my first real interaction with this generation. There is future, not just in music.
Keep on rocking, my young rock dudes and rock chicks! I grew up in Canada listening to Rush, and we desperately need young and talented people like yourselves to keep the spirit of rock alive in a world that seeks to keep it down. Alex, Geddy and Neil (RIP) would approve of your performance! 🤘😎👍
It’s so hard to play in some of these spaces and a mall acoustics are the WORST. You all did an AMAZING job and should be proud of your performance. Keep rocking 🔥🤘
If you all are inspired by RUSH ? Watch every concert and videos possible. I am 63 yrs old now, and I was inspired by RUSH when I was 14 yrs old. Safe to say, I wouldn't be the drummer I am, Without RUSH and Neil Peart. 😎
Lol. Hillsdale shopping Mall in San Mateo California, first place I ever bought a 45 RPM record. Saturday night by the Bay City rollers. I was 9 or 10. Shopping mall at the time, except for the big stores like Macy and Sears, was ground floor with open air above.
I wish these schools of rock would start teaching musicianship as opposed to just preparing kids to play a song on a stage. There's much more to it than that.
🤘YES🤘 GREAT Job!!!! Hey in defense of the drummer looking all chill, playing Rush tense doesn't work 😊 ...play how you play! Everyone is giving ya the love! (Even the jokesters❤) TY kids for loving and carrying on my generations music❤
There have been quite a few people, young-ish and older-ish who have the ability to live in the ZIP code of Alex's, Neil's and Geddy's instrument talent. But Geddy's vocals...Now that's a nut that no male i have heard, at least on YT, has cracked. A decent number of females can, but it's not a challenge for them and it comes across as they sing. That said, kudos!
y'all look like you want to just GO FOR IT!!! all the way, crank it up!!!! make some ears bleed! i would be there!!!! ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great to see the younger gen keeping that great music out there
Keep it up! Rush is hard to pull off even by the most seasoned musicians!
Rock on!

They. Know. Rush. Wow I’m shocked but impressed
That was awesome! I did see the drummer smile at 3:58
@@JawTooth every time I check the comments here, this one always cracks me up
@@mercurylynne Lol
Wow, wish I'd known in advance, I'd have been there for y'all. Nicely done!
Mia and Mila killed it! even for playing as quiet as one could, 'The Miller' crushed it. Hope you all keep honing your craft and keep on keeping on!
Guitarist was amazing and nailed the tone!

Sweet this is awesome great cover guys.
This was a great performance. Keep it up.
This is beautiful!
Seeing young grasshoppers covering Rush is happiness. Rock on! That bass is sick.
Anyone that covers Rush deserves a bow... Especially if they do it well, This is me bowing,,,,,,
Nailed It! have not been to the Hillsdale mall in years.
This must be seen by Rush!! Im sure the professor enjoyed it from above!!
Keep on rocking from Australia
Excellent job !!
It’s so hard to play in some of these spaces and a mall acoustics are the WORST. You all did an AMAZING job and should be proud of your performance. Keep rocking 🔥🤘
You could see her just dying to let it rip. It’s actually way harder to play any instrument quietly.
You guys rock! That’s a hard song to play
The drummer is sick! They also looks bored af! lol
I didn't realize this is Hillsdale mall! I hope I run into you all there next time!
@@stephanycrestwood4943 yes she is - absolutely kills it on the drums - even if she does look bored af. 😆
Miller rocks.
We see see you Steven rocking the Iron Maiden t-shirt.🤟

Nice Iron Maiden shirt 👕 , The Trooper ❤
nice job
Good job.Rush is hard to perform..❤You guys rock❤
> Drummer to play quietly.
> Acrylic drumset.
How!? I mean, they pulled it off with flying colurs. But... HOW!?
Oh wow, I was also a School of Rock keyboardist who played in concert wearing a metal shirt who loved Rush. I didn’t sing though. Thank God
Bass player and drummer grin at 3:52 because of the singer high note ; )
Bass player wailing all over that bass neck in pink Crocs. Oh yeah!
😄
Excellent drummer!!!!!!

drummer looks like she can play that song in her sleep lol

Even the real Rush members stated, its not an easy song to play.
These kids try it anyhowe and expand there admiring for Rush!
Batteries' facial expressions are the best.
Great sound!
The girl drummer is so quick, she can play it in her sleep.
@@jaguarblack5051 like almost literally - she’s a prodigy

Muitíssimo bom e feliz em saber que mesmo jovens conhecem boa música.
Singer...just go for it!!
They have a nice, relaxed style, which is impressive given the difficulty of the tune.
Isso faz bem 🙏🙏 a alma parabéns!!!!
Wow
Awesome

You cannot ask a drummer to be quiet on Tom Sawyer. It is pretty much hit as hard as you can.
never seen anyone so bored doing a Peart track, makes me wonder what gets her fired up and what it possibly sounds like lol
Great job!!! Have fun and keep Rockin’. Musician/Artist USA- ThomMeinert
Very impressive. The guitarist in particular is excellent. Alex Lifeson isn't the easiest of guitarists to copy.
The Miller is good!
Drummer is actually pretty good
I could never
O mundo ainda tem salvação com jovens de bom gosto.........
Dude. The drummer must be so peeved. I've never seen such sadness by a drummer playing Neil Peart.
Great cover! No go do some Ramones and Clash!
How does this generation manage to show absolutely no expression on their faces ever even while playing one of the greatest songs of all time?
Like Geedy? Fucker never smiled
They look bored.
They're busy concentrating. Playing Rush isn't easy. Check out 12 and 13 year old Brothers Blake and Lucas of 'After The Disaster Grant bros
Not an easy song to play. Hats off to them.
Blacks can't do this
No, his mind is not for rent
To any god or government
Always hopeful, yet discontent
He knows changes aren't permanent
But change is😱
Where did they find a non deserted mall to play in?
A street band already so over, they have Macy's product placement!
The drummer was sad
drummer looks dead inside
Why the drummer look so depressed lolz😂😂😂
That’s how Neil always looked when he played.
No sweep?
Pretty good cover from some pretty bored kids 😂
Drummer should've been in a punk band, as she looks completely uninterested.
Unfortunately, one person doesn't fit in...
A good rendition, however, maybe not wear an Iron Maiden shirt next time.
