This was a well done review - from a content and delivery standpoint, mad props. You didn't wing it. From a "review" standpoint this is the standard to which all reviews should start. Most reviews are a feature demonstration or unboxing - those aren't reviews, rather simply restating features from the mfr. You on the other hand, gave pro's and con's and definitely addressed the needs of a wide audience. Was it most in depth review I've ever seen? Of course not. Can't do that in under 10 minutes.
Point is, this was a great video. Thank you.

Eery good description of pros and cons. I picked the Aeron Remastered and all options. I’m 5’11” 180 lbs and B fits perfectly. I suffer coccyx pain and bought it to help my recovery. I can indeed sit longer in this chairs than the Herman Miller Mirra and the pellicle mesh is much more forgiving and spreads out the pressure points much better than a cushion seat like on the leap and others such as the Humanscale. So I’m happy with my purchase. The 30 day free return alleviated any fears I had of it possibly not being the right fit.

I purchased 5 different chairs by using online reviews. I had to return them all. I know it hurts the companies who have to process these used chairs but it’s online. Their profits are outrageously amazing. And I’m also too insecure to purchase from brick and mortar. Those guys are really knowledgeable but I’d rather make my complaints to customer service on a keyboard. I just feel more confident when I email my concerns. Gives me more time to think and research.

I bought one recently, simply because fabric turns disgusting after a year or so and foam squishes and also turns disgusting after a while. I now literally spend more time on my PC chair than on my bed. I also use the PC on a pretty upward position. I chose the Aeron because of two things, the all mesh build. I really don't want to deal disgusting fabric, and really don't want to bother with maintenance; and the forward tilt. When I tested it with forward tilt, my back felt relaxed and at ease.
However, I did buy the chair one size bigger. According to the chart a B size would have worked for me. But since I also sit with my legs open when sitting straight, my thighs were bumping with the frame. When I sat on the C, I had all of the comfort and none of the rubbing with the frame. Long story short, just buy it one size larger if you want to commit. I also had an amazing deal on the chair from my local retailer. The chair with the same specifications as the one on this video, costed me 900 dollars, new.

Torn between the Aeron and the Leap and one of the big differences looks like it's the rocking motion. Aeron appears to have a very nice recline/rocking motion while Leap doesn't. However, you can get the Leap with a headrest, but the Aeron you can't. Tough call.

    • @btodtv

It’s true, the Aeron is much better if you plan to rock back and forth. Personally, I prefer the feel of the Leap for upright tasking. If a headrest is what you’re after, the Leap or Gesture will be your best options from Steelcase. -GK

You're paying for the warranty when you buy them from the store that why that $1,200 still Makes sense despite it sounding insane. Regular/ office chairs are gonna run you around $200 and they only last around 2 years before they start falling apart and/or become extremely uncomfortable. So thats $100 a year just to have a plain marry Jane chair. Aeron has a 12 year warranty so even at $1,200 your only paying that same $100 a year for a chair that is WAY more comfortable for extremely long sitting periods and you don't have the headache of having to shop for a new chair every 2 years.

We do have a video comparison of the Aeron vs the Embody, but the Cosm is such a different style chair it makes it a little more difficult to compare against one of these highly adjustable chairs. It is something we will consider making though. Hopefully watching our Cosm Review and the Aeron vs Embody comparison will be helpful in making a buying decision. Should have tried it out before I made the purchase, worst investment ever and completely ripped off. The back is too low, and there are too many pressure points from the steel frame. Arm rest could have been bigger, and the mesh traps dust which is a nightmare to anyone with sensitive skin. This is basically Dyson in chairs, you overpay for the brand effect and cool factor, if you want something comfortable and quality go with leather and tick foam.

Good quality products come with higher price tags. There are a lot of high quality components on this product. It is Made in the USA with skilled labor and it comes with the best office chair warranty in the industry. It is a high end chair and will cost you more upfront but there is certainly an argument to made that this chair will cost less on a yearly basis than lower end chairs that need to be replaced every few years or so.
It doesn't "cure damn cancer, scoliosis, world hunger, and bring peace to the Middle East.", but neither does an iPhone and people are more than willing to pay $1000 for a product that will only last a couple years before it is obsolete. -RB

My apologies, I didn't understand the question. We haven't formally reviewed the Mirra, so I'm not sure if it is better or more comfortable. We have tried a few Poly back style chairs and they are quite a bit different than a mesh or upholstered backrest. If you haven't had a chance to sit it in beforehand, I would highly recommend trying to do so.

The core of the backrest on the Mirra will still be made from the Poly material. Unfortunately, we haven't had enough experience sitting in that chair yet to say if it is more or less comfortable. Hopefully, we will get it into the office for testing at some point this year.
If you decide to purchase it, definitely let us know what you think. I'm sure everyone will appreciate the feedback!
