agree with your perspective on this vs the Super Ocean (not that i could ever even afford a Breitling anyway lol !). thanks for another great video Josh, all the best :)
This Hamilton is a fantastic looking watch, modern urban design. Also really affordable if bought on the gray market. The finishing on the dial is very satysfying, great horizontal brushing instead of sunburst effect which is almost everywhere nowadays and its starting to get boring. Also its an interesting sandwich dial and blue indices making a great combo here, plus it have nice blue lume. From me strong 8/10,points down for non screw down crown and the movement-I would like normal Eta in terms of availability to repair etc.
I like it more than the Breitling but may be too colourful for the style? It's just that the exact mix of colours made me think of the Fischer-Price toys I had as a kid, and my mum's Swatch.
On paper the Hamilton Aviation should have been an excellent watch, in person I was underwhelmed. I owned it for less than a 3 months, just an average watch with a so-so bracelet. The Khaki field watch is just to small of a watch for my 8.5 inch wrist.
I've been wanting to experience the Khaki Field, but I too think it'll be too small for my 8" wrist, which has deterred me from buying one. My buddy Jay has one, I think it's the Toppers edition, so I can borrow it to see how it wears and make a video on it.
Yes, in fact I have sold all of them, re-bought one of them twice now, but then sold it to a friend that had been wanting one for a long, long time but couldn't get one. As of right now, I don't have any Halios in my collection, but I'm eagerly awaiting the next release of the Seaforth, which might be coming in titanium.
Steel dials look good with brown or tan leather straps IMHO. Give it a try!
I should have tried that. Since filming this, I've mailed it to the new owner, but putting it on leather is a great recommendation!
Great comparison vid Josh. 👍
Thanks Hector
The silver face is stunning!

I'm definitely on a Hamilton kick right now. I ended up buying 3 in less than a 4 month period, that's how much i ended up liking them
I'm with you on the white dial look!
yep yep, I think a white dial would have changed the entire aesthetic of this Hamilton (for the better).
I like how it looks and size is perfect👍
I love the size of these for my 8" wrist

Totally agree!
Chuck it on a brown leather strap..looks great 👍
The case shape is also different between the two, check the lugs. Another good white dial comparison would be the Panerai Due.
I had the smaller Air Race in Hamilton race team colors, nice watch but I did eventually sell it.

haha, good call, it does totally look like the Fischer-Price toys. The blue and red accents are very colorful.
Nice Josh.
Thanks
I wonder if it’s the same case as the Cooper
I wondered that too. If not the exact same, they are very, very similar.

@@HorologyinSanity Spec wise its a great watch, just needs to be bigger IMO.
Nice!
Do you ever think about selling one of your Halios?

You do realize the silver and blue is a tribute to the Red Bull brand right?
No, actually, I didn't know that. That's interesting though. Appreciate you sharing that tidbit.
There was one picture where the date was between 4 and 5 I think that way the watch look better
Yep, I think I would have preferred that and I think it would have made the overall flow better or improved the overall appearance of the dial.
Thats the 39mm version that has the date at 4:30 the 42mm is at 3:00
@@MrBacchus18 Thanks for the tip. I'll look up the 39mm version (wasn't aware they made two different sized variants of this watch).
