💳 I’m not anti-credit. I’m anti- drowning- in - debt - and - can’t - breathe! If you are having trouble getting past your minimum payments, watch and see if any of the tips can help you. No one should live with that constant stress. How will you start your credit card payoff journey?
I turned 62 about 10 days ago. My husband is 65. Yes, we're retirees. The one thing that I can say is that I have never paid for groceries or utilities with a credit card. That being said, I have 12 or 14 credit cards. Three do have zero balances. The rest???? Well, let's just say most are so full they are gasping for air!!!!! 🤦♀️ Hanging my head. Let's get this started!!!!! Woo-hoo!!
Many years ago we were in debt with credit cards. We were very lucky, we got the credit card paid off and if we couldn’t pay in full every month we went without!
Jenn, because of your videos I have paid off 5 accounts. I have a long way to go but my path has been set, thanks to your insight. Your channel addresses all realms of budgeting, saving, and debt payment which is different than all the others. You show all different ranges of incomes which is amazing! Thank you!!💖
I am so happy that you have paid off 5 and have your plan for the rest! That’s amazing! I think I am trying to talk about more than just cash stuffing because I feel like it’s a bit of a responsibility. When you have so many people tuning into your channel and listening to your words- there is a level of responsibility that comes along with that. If I’m not giving useful information, then I shouldn’t be doing it. I’m so glad that you find usefulness in it and are bringing the ideas to fruition. 💛
I have this very process. No credit cards,, if you can't afford it with cash then you don't get it until you save the money. I just doesn't make sense to pay the credit companies money that we can use for us. Great Video get the word out, this is financial freedom and stress free!!!
Great video Jenn, I always use cash. I never have a credit card in my wallet. I have my debit card and I never use it. I need to see where my money is going. I also pull money out for the month if needed. My coworkers are like who uses cash now a days? and I say it my head held high, I do. Thanks for all you do. Blessings Traci
I love using cash. I actually didn’t get into trouble until I stopped. When I was younger, I was a waitress and always had cash. ( mixed with no credit) I was actually doing pretty good! 😂
Happy Friday Jenn and chat👋🏽 I’ve always paid more than the minimum payment on my credit cards and I don’t use my cards to pay my utilities bills. When my children were young I received WIC (Women Infant and Children Food Program) which give coupons for cereal, milk, eggs, beans, or peanut butter, and juice and when they aged out I received Focus Hope which gave you the same food products. The only difference was the milk and eggs were in powdered form and you got evaporated milk. I’ve never been ashamed to ask for anything I needed for my children.
I used to receive WIC, too. What a great program. I really appreciated that one, too. I also am to the point where IF I use a card for travel expenses or something like that- I pay it immediately. I carry no balances - I refuse to pay interest.
I always love when you do these videos❤ I have 3 credit cards and 1 store card the credit limits aren’t high at all but I had a hard time keeping them at zero when I got a chunk of money I paid them all off to zero and set up one of my bills I already paid monthly to be paid with each card I’m hoping I can build my credit that way❤
Great video Jen, yes I have found c.c don’t work for me. So paying I will go have paid of 2 small one just to run them back up, yes no more for me. I went and frozen them in ice and taken them out any stored site I had them because I tried of melting my snowball 😊
Hi Jen, I discovered im not a credit card person. It felt like free money to me. So i paid it up and to my horror found there were still costs added on. So i closed all 3 and cut up the cards. 😅
I have accounts in collections that I am just waiting out because at the time my husband passed away it absolutely devastated me financially. I actually ended up homeless. Not the worst thing ever to happen to be honest 😂 definitely eye opening. But also I am much more conservative moneywise as I really don't want to end up back there holy moly 😢
😂 oh gosh credit cards are a hot button at my house. I have a shared account for my mom who doesn't use the card way too much but I do pay it down. My wife thinks i should just give her an allowance but she lives in Spain and i feel like having the credit card is safer for her if she has any emergency and she can't get any of the local family to help or they cant afford it. 😅 My wife loves my mom but lol yeah she sort of goes hmmm because sometimes it's obvious my mom wasnt the one swiping the card 😂 might have been a bored sibling or their spawn 😅
This happened to us. We were paying my MIL’s Discover card and it was just being used like cash- by everyone in the house. We had to pay it off and close it. We told his Mom to let us know what she needed and we just sent it to her. I feel your pain on wanting to help but then feeling taken advantage of. 😔
@@2SisterBees yeah I have the unfortunate sort of title in my family of being the rich brother. I'm far from rich but the cost of living in Spain is far below the standard in California so they don't see it as a big deal. It's frustrating but it's also hard to say anything when many of my siblings and their families aren't doing so well. I've considered taking a yearly trip to see everyone and just get an idea of needs but also afraid they may kidnap me and ransom me 😂 jk but not really 😂
@@2SisterBees I also need to add my sweet wife is more than kind to them even when they get a little too Fiesty with the card. She has Had a hard life. She just says remember it's difficult to take people into a life boat to save them if they find it fun to drill holes in the hull.
It could, it depends on many different factors. We closed some ourselves. The companies closed a lot of them, too due to inactivity for over a year. Our scores actually have not been affected. They are both above 800. It really comes down to which ones close, other types of credit you have, utilization, history, etc… Just a personal decision, really.

How will you start your credit card payoff journey?
I did the 100 envelope challenge and used the money to pay my last credit card off now I don't have any credit card debt so happy
Oh wow!! This is super exciting!!!! Great job!!! ✨✨✨
Thank started on my second 100 envelope challenge
The folks over at Ramsey are pretty adamant that the issue with credit card debt is not an inflation issue but a spending issue.
It absolutely is
Less spending, more saving
The combo is unbeatable
Thank you Jenn, very helpful xxx

Delayed gratification is the key!

❤❤ wow, never heard of Fouced Hope. What a beautiful extension fit families
❤❤ great video with expert and researched tips!! Plus. Youve been there!! I currently have no debt. But am way over spending my house savings!
Yes- I have been there. Did all the typical consumer mindset things. So glad I realized I wasn’t doing myself or my future self any favors. 😅
Good morning Jen I have 1500 in emergency fund 1credit card almost paid off also adding extra 40.00 towards my suv payment
Nice job, Tracey! 💛

Exactly- credit card companies are not our “friends” and they are not here to help us in hard times. Good for you! ✨
Use money order to pay for your bills

Ohh this just came to my recommendation 👀 I wonder why lol
Here listening Jenn 💁🏾♀️
I only have one credit card left to pay off and it is only $3,000!! And I am 1.5 payments away from paying off my car!🎉❤
Oh that is awesome!!!!! 👏
Great advice
Hope it helps! ✨

Hey Jen Happy Friday❤
Hey Sis! Let me know what you think of this one- I’m curious if you find it helpful. 💛💛💛
Won't closing credit cards negatively affect your credit?
It could, it depends on many different factors.
We closed some ourselves. The companies closed a lot of them, too due to inactivity for over a year.
Our scores actually have not been affected. They are both above 800.
It really comes down to which ones close, other types of credit you have, utilization, history, etc…
Just a personal decision, really.
What do we do about credit accounts that have gone to collections? As far as trying to pay them and get them removed if possible.
That will be my next video- for those that have gotten into a bit more trouble. I did this, too.
It can be fixed! Stay tuned! 💛
