      I answered a pre-approval application for Capitol One.I received another email from them asking me to check on my approval. I had a couple of questions about the issues that were important to me. I couldn't even get my questions answered. When I saw this video, I am wondering if they did a hard pull of my credit score and I am not going to be eligible with Capitol One. As I tried to find help I was sent in circles. I don't qualify to have a big credit limit and I know that but I thought they were a fair business until I listened to this video. I am sure glad you are able to provide me the information to make a more informed decision about my credit goals. I know that everyone has to make money for the company and I get that. But it is not a help for me at this time and I am going to look for a different company that is willing to help me not stick it to me in the conquest of more profit for them and nothing more for me to gain with doing everything right to have the credit that I am building and I wish big business owners would be more honest with the consumer and realize they are going no place with out the people who are using the service they are going to hurt me not help me because I don't make Mega money and I don't want to pay interest on everything I need. grateful for your time and help. Sincerely appreciate it. Donna Goffe

    Capital One will put you in a bucket and keep you there no matter what. I've been with them 16yrs since 2007. At the time my credit was in the 500s. I started with the Platinum secured card $200 limit. Then upgraded to the regular Platinum 1yr later. Few years later upgraded to the Quicksilver one. Then upgraded again to regular Quicksilver. The highest limit I could get with a current credit score over 800 on that card was $5800. I finally decided to get a new card and applied for the Venture X and got $30,000 limit. Capital one definitely had me in the same bucket since 07

    I've always wondered about why Citibank will not approve me for certain cards even with a 800+ FICO score. Vantage scores are a pain and buckets too.

    • @fogrunr5075
      @fogrunr5075 Год назад

      I think Vantage scores are there as a steering mechanism designed to influence customers' thinking and guide them in a direction they want them to go. I have 17 accounts and I tracked the data very closely, having done several experiments. It really gives me a steep learning curve. Vantage is not linear. It's designed to work like crab pot mentality, pulling people back into the cooking pot when they see them escaping the debt mindset.
      Don't focus on the Vantage score.
      Focus on developing your wealth.
      A falling VantageScore during a period when you have exponential wealth growth is proof of what they are trying to accomplish.

      Crazy! Spend 499 each month and call them to tell them you want an increase because you have to pay your balance too often? Haha. Better yet, some of the presenters ideas above may work well for you.

      After five years if your credit score is considered 'excellent' they will offer you a new card that has a much higher credit line. The starter cards like the Platinum and a couple of Quicksilver cards are a dead end, just keep the accounts open to boost credit age. I have two Quicksilver cards (upgraded Platinum to Quicksilver) and the two cards have a combined $1,505 credit limit. I use them once every four months and then shove them back into the sock drawer. I have a Wells Fargo & two Amex cards (one is the gold card) that I use almost everyday.

    Yo thanks for the link, it worked like a charm! Upgraded my starter Platinum card to a Quicksilver Rewards with one click. I’m clearly still in the fair credit bucket even though my score is in the 700s now but its nice to get a better card in my wallet.

    #8.Close your Capital One card. They slow walk payments to generate late charges and extra interest. They have just taken 4 1/2 months to process a payment. They would not waive "late" fees. This has happened 3 times this year. I am going to contact federal regulators. They also have astronomical interest rates twice my other cards. I am just going to buy a tank of gas or a lunch once a month and pay it with the bill to lower my utilization rate but otherwise I am done with them.

    Resist upgrading, why? When you upgrade you are signing up to new terms with regard to the interest rate. Don’t do it. Credit cards are a trap if you are not careful.

    We pay off our credit card every month , so we don't have to pay any interest. We do get miles and use it to fly our grandkids to visit us. I really think that borrowing on credit cards is poison. You can never pay them off it takes years and costs you you a fortune in interest.

    Dang man. I have SavorOne & Platinum. I tried to open another with a pre approval, and they denied because “too many capital one cards” do you think I’d at least be able to upgrade the platinum? Or at least upgrade to something like Venture

    • @bruceh4180
      @bruceh4180 7 месяцев назад

      The platinum is often upgraded to the quicksilver or QS1.
      Also, the limit only applies to their own cards. Ex: I got a C1 Walmart "partner card".
      2% cash back at any store with no annual fee.

    If you have a credit card for your business, you should only spend what you can pay off… otherwise you arnt earning rewards if you pay interest it negates the profit. So pay debit or pay off ur statement balance

  • @masonr1666
    @masonr1666 6 месяцев назад

    Credit, or debt is bad.
    Having a higher credit limit means you can get yourself into more financial trouble.
    If you cant pay for it in cash, than you probably cant afford it because:
    Life Maintence is a thing. Cars need repairs, homes need repairs, clothes need to be replaced, and taxes need to be paid.
    Avoid temptaion, and do not use credit. Somthing bad will happen in your life, and the credit will change from being freedom, to chains holding you down.

    • @masonr1666
      @masonr1666 6 месяцев назад

      The best way to use credit cards, in my opinon, is to open a card, then save the up the credit limit, then close the card [hurting your credit score.]
