We have a new, large puppy and he's tall enough to stand up and take anything and everything off the counter. How can I stop him from doing this? Thank you for your videos.

We just connected the sleep crate to the pen and the puppy really doesn’t like taking naps in the crate now. Just lays on the washable pee pad in pen part. Should I just give this time ? I want the puppy to get the Rem sleep he needs. Please let me know
The crate will be important to help him get the sleep he needs, and keep him safe when you are gone. We have some great tips on how to help him love the crate in this video: ruclips.net/video/s0r-E3R3XT4/видео.html If you're ready to start the crate games, they are in our training program: www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/30-days-to-puppy-perfection
My dog is now 8 months. Is she still considered a puppy? i removed the pen bc she was doing confinement barking and demand barking. my apartment is only 150 squ feet, so I’ve blocked off anything i don’t want her near with fencing. Like the bathroom is blocked off for example so she can’t get into Epsom salts. This helped with her barking. She uses potty pads bc I’m disabled so i can’t take her out many times all day. (But i can still walk her a few miles! Just not do the stairs over and over) I’ve been told not to crate her right now bc she has severe separation anxiety. we’re doing the Mission Possible training program to work on this. I guess my question is how long and to what age do the “puppy rules” of your videos apply?
You can use our training techniques with any age of dog. For separation anxiety we recommend a book called "Be Right Back" by Julie Naismith. That might be an additional resource to help you.
I just had a crate/potty trainer come to my house and tell us to get rid of the puppy pen and use only the crate. It sounds a bit insane. I don't want to have my puppy in a small crate for hours and hours every day. It doesn't seem right. She said that we need to use only the crate until our puppy is potty trained as he has been trained to pee/poop in the pen (our breeder used pee pads in the pen). So now, we have a free ranging puppy peeing EVERYWHERE despite our very regular visits outside and a small crate to hold him more that i'd wish. I literally don't know what to do.
Giving the dog too much freedom will definitely lead to potty training accidents. That's why we recommend the pen for when he's awake but you can't supervise 100%. We agree that he should not be in the crate more than naps, nights and for the training games. He needs to learn how to be awake but calm, which is an important skill that will serve you well for a lifetime. The pen will help teach him that. We don't agree with the methods used by the trainer you consulted. Even if your dog used to pee in the pen, by watching the schedule and getting him out for potty breaks proactively, you can teach him to go potty outside.
