That's b3en a mistak3 for us letting him in full house but 1 floor at a time always around even if can't keep eye on fully mostly As for th3 rope toys pet store said they just digest and eliminate out the tassles He likes the toy in more so worried bout colored dye but then figured white 1s could be bleached it also doesn't shed the toy nor the p9mi but I think he may get fluffier so semi unpredictable breed but getting there We got him at like 3 months old

I’ve owned chihuahuas before, but at that time the co-owner was abusive (to me, primarily) and used the dogs to manipulate and control. Now I live alone, and this puppy will be mine, alone. Since the dog will always be with me, some of the things you are talking about will be different. Thank you for good content.

This was very helpful! I'm going to get a puppy in the next few months but I will be moving at the end of the summer. I'll have way more time to spend with the puppy during the summer (training and such before school and work starts up again) but I don't want to traumatize the puppy by moving it so young. It will be my first pup ever and I want everything to go as perfect as can be. So my question is: is the playpenn mandatory for educating a pup? We have a living room of approx 24 m2 and in your vid you state that the more room a pup has, the more risk there might be for a weewee accident.

Yes! If there are any sharp corners that could injure your puppy, we would recommend placing guards around those, especially when they first come home and are getting their bearings.
Have you ever tried or heard of coffee wood chews? They are supposed to be safe but I'm not sure. My older puppy (a year) doesn't like Yak or benebone that much, few minutes but loves sticks which aren't good for him. Thanks
Personally, we have not tried the particular "coffee wood." However, we do recommend offering a wood chew for pups who are attracted to things like chair legs, etc. This is a healthy way to give them a proper outlet for a texture they may be searching for! The major concern with wooden chews is that they can sometimes be a bit too hard, causing a pup to chip/break a tooth. Emergency veterinary visits are never fun, for you or your pup!
It's best to block off access to the space where the cords are. Be sure to tuck them securely behind things that your puppy can't fitthrough or around.

Lola The cookailre yes that’s what my problem is like for example bully sticks are not good for puppy’s and she promotes them. Treats are also not very good and you should honestly never use them. Tug a war and chase games make mean puppy’s and she also promotes them
Warrior Cats OC art we’ll be carful with treats and tug a war just creates a mean puppy because it brings out there natural hunting instinct cause your fighting them. You can do what you want to your dog but that’s just what my breeder told us lol

Michelle, when you first bring your puppy home, how can you start taking your puppy outside right away and expose him to possibly dangerous things in your backyard, such as parvo from wild life, when he has not had all his vaccines yet? We have lots of squirrels and often possums and even raccoons that trapse through the yard daily.

What do you mean by "under exposing puppy to the outdoor", and what do you mean by "safely getting out and about.?" And are you suggesting using FreshPatch *inside* the house? That's normal! We suggest you resist the urge to doctor up your puppy’s food. If he’s not eating he may be overwhelmed (especially if he’s new to your home), he may have sore gums, an upset stomach or he may be holding out for something better. Puppy kibble contains the most nutrients and we don't want to teach our puppies that if they don’t eat, they get something better next time. When it’s mealtime, put down the food for 10-15 minutes. Then pick up any remaining food and make it part of the next meal but don’t give more than the normal amount (only give what the normal portion would be). All dogs are food motivated, but it might take a few meals for them to get the idea that they should eat what is served at the time it is served. There are electric cables which I cannot remove because they are attached to the stand light, router, etc. They are on the floor as well. How can I protect them from my dog?

What about if the owner lives in an apartment? Is it ok to have a designated area for the puppy to go potty there? Me and my boyfriend want to get a puppy (about an 8 week old teacup yorkie) but we have an apartment so we don’t have a backyard and don’t want to always take them outside to go potty unless we are taking them for a walk. Just because we both have jobs and won’t be able to let them out during the day.

Michelle, when you first bring your puppy home, how can you start taking your puppy outside right away and expose him to possibly dangerous things in your backyard, such as parvo from wild life, when he has not had all his vaccines yet? We have lots of squirrels and often possums and even raccoons that trapse through the yard daily.

What do you mean by "under exposing puppy to the outdoor", and what do you mean by "safely getting out and about.?" And are you suggesting using FreshPatch *inside* the house? That's normal! We suggest you resist the urge to doctor up your puppy’s food. If he’s not eating he may be overwhelmed (especially if he’s new to your home), he may have sore gums, an upset stomach or he may be holding out for something better. Puppy kibble contains the most nutrients and we don't want to teach our puppies that if they don’t eat, they get something better next time. When it’s mealtime, put down the food for 10-15 minutes. Then pick up any remaining food and make it part of the next meal but don’t give more than the normal amount (only give what the normal portion would be). All dogs are food motivated, but it might take a few meals for them to get the idea that they should eat what is served at the time it is served.

What about if the owner lives in an apartment? Is it ok to have a designated area for the puppy to go potty there? Me and my boyfriend want to get a puppy (about an 8 week old teacup yorkie) but we have an apartment so we don’t have a backyard and don’t want to always take them outside to go potty unless we are taking them for a walk. Just because we both have jobs and won’t be able to let them out during the day.
