Smartest guy on the internet. I have been freeloading quietly for a long time. When I get my finances in order I definitely want to purchase something. I can't believe how good the content is. I actually like the food videos as well.
Loving this new video quality and editing, Matt! I’m an ICU night shift nurse, using your programs for the past 2+ years and you got me thinking about wearing some weight while I work! Never thought about that until this video, keep up the great work.
What a great piece of content!!! If every office in America that had a sedentary desk mission would implement these principles, productivity and morale would soar. Employees health would improve, sick days would decrease and everyone would benefit.
Matt, thanks for always bringing the golden nuggets. I’m consistently pushing clients to take similar actions in their day to incorporate more movement. Gen pop needs more consistency > intensity
They are an amazing deadlift warm up. Chaotic kettle bell carries, kettle bell swings, and single leg bridges have made my deadlift days so much better.
I work in building maintenance (hvac, electrical, plumbing, etc). I get plenty of GPP from just that alone but I really do like the weighted vest idea. Although I’ll probably have to wear it under my work shirt lol.
Love the videos and education, I'm finishing your strength training over 40 manual, also been doing your band mobility and stretching, I'm probably going to repeat over 40 training manual again but is there another manual that would go great with the over 40 training manual, thanks
Just think: this is what he gives for free...you’ll be snowed under by what you get from Patreon. There’s been weeks I honestly haven’t had time to watch it all. The man is a fucking machine.
It's not the heart pounding, lung burning type effort. It is just uncomfortable and demanding enough that you have to keep your brain from talking you into stopping. It has a natural pace to it . If you start to slow down, it starts to get a lot harder.
I made up a 50 lb back pack to practice CPAT. Two weeks out I got a chance to wear the actual weight vest. I'm glad I did. The vest seemed much more demanding. The weight hanging on the chest made every deep breath feel like a lift of its own.
Simply walking is the easiest way for anyone (medical conditions aside) to be active. As a University student who drives 2 hours to and from school every day, I find myself walking around campus between classes just to get steps in. Or, standing while doing work on my laptop. It's the little things that add up
I have always been a hard gainer. I now realize that I worked out too hard by always lifting to fatigue and that I was not getting enough rest. Recently I am doing better by (1) lifting heavy weight with fewer reps and not going to fatigue, (2) including some fast, explosive reps and (3) getting much more rest. I am gaining strength, lifting heavier weights and I am not as beat up after my workouts. Do you have any suggestions for me?
@matt wenning i am curious how cross fitters builder their gpp? The regular normal crossfitter seems to have crazy work capacity but they over exert themselves most days from metabolic conditioning?
I have plenty of things for you do at my off grid homestead down in Adams County. You can have all the rainwater you can drink and I won’t even charge you.
Absolutely loved walking on a turned off treadmill, until the gym owner told me to stop. Good thing that gym turned into people who record tiktoks, so I left and invested in my garage gym. Now i’m definitely going to start doing those kettle bell walks
Dude, the damn tiktokkers….. now there’s cases of normal girls who just wanna lift are getting trapped under the bar because guys are afraid to help without being called a creep.
I discover your channel, and i thank you for teaching me this new trick to make me stronger and endurant, i never heard of (GPP) before discovering Alex Leonidas, who speaks ALOT about it as well of how awesome and powerful yet SIMPLE and BASIC it is and should never be neglected.
squat swing and Crossfit style are different. Matt is showing a squat swing, where you use more knee bend instead of making the movement a pure hinge. This reduces overall power output and makes you rely more on the upper body to get the bell up at the top. Crossfit style, or "American" swing, is where you swing the bell and extend the arms straight up overhead. This is criticized because it is thought to be bad for the shoulders and again relies more on the upper body to get the bell up that high. The traditional Russian swing, where the hips are snapped forward violently from a deep hinge is the most optimal form, and it doesn't matter how high the bell goes as long as the hips extend with maximal power.
I disagree with ur swing. It should look like a fast rdl rather than a squat. If u want squat mobility do goblet squats. Swing is a hip hinge. Pugay from the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🤺⚔

I've started doing these gpp exercises on my rest days while bulking and I feel a lot lighter on my feet despite being 20lbs heavier than I want!

What does "gpp" mean
@@jamestemplesiii204 general physical preparedness
Same here. Not bulking but a little more athletic and recomping is easier
Do you feel better recovered and more explosive?

"CrossFit style" is the squat style. Technically it's not a "style" it's just crappy form.
If you're going to use the swing for conditioning why not use proper form?
