How do you feel about Zone 2 cardio as a form of GPP? Scientific research points to 180+ minutes per week having immense benefits. So, for example, 3 hours/week on the elliptical-would this have most folks covered by way of GPP as a supplement to strength training?
I always thought the fact I had excess bodyfat during a bulk was a genetic limitation as to why I couldn't recover as quick. Now I know, my heart just can't pump blood at idle to all the destroyed parts of my body as easily when there's extra mass to maintain + my conditioning is poor. The more mass, the more your GPP has to improve

I'm currently doing a training week of max strength sessions on Monday - Lower Body, Tuesday - Shoulders, Wednesday - Back, Thursday - Chest and then Friday a full body GPP. I also do steady-state cardio on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This gets repeated weekly, although obviously adjusting volume and variations of exercises for each muscle group. Is one GPP appropriate for this plan?
Do you take requests? Can you do a similar video for people who don’t have access to gym equipment? I’d like to build some GPP but I work out at home and don’t have access to the equipment shown in this video.
Would GPP be similar to the “zone 2” discussions that seem to be all the rage? I feel like it is similar and those podcasts talking about zone two should just say it’s GPP. Lol
Two most important things I have learned from Matt is GPP is the base of everything and life stress can absolutely impact your gym recovery.
