I've ridden a CBX six cylinder. Ponderous handling and you feel the weight, but that's made up for by such an engine. It isn't as fast as you'd think, but it's silky smooth, turbine like and makes a great sound. Not for tight twisty stuff, as it takes a fair bit of effort to lift it up to transition from left to right, compared to a CB900F Bol D'or or GSX1100 or the same vintage. Very cool though just for the sound, just don't expect cos they're six cylinder that they are much faster than four cylinder, as the weight negates any benefit, apart from sound, smoothness (being perfectly balanced as an I6) and uniqueness. Go best on Bridgestone BT46's. I'm a motorcycle tyre fitter and component specialist of 20yrs and Post Classic Pre '89 racer, Hinkley Triumph nut and general knee down nutter. Daytona 955i, '73 RD350, DRZ400sm, CBR600 & Bros 650 race bikes. TRX850, 04 ZX10r, ZX12r.
Wonderful list. The Yamaha RD350 was a well known adrenalin ride in the states when it came out. It was sold in a beautiful yellow and black livery and scared the crxp out of anyone who rode it. A legendary two stroke full send machine. Everyone wanted one. All of the bikes you mentioned were truly unique and fun and that's what matters. That they gave you back as much fun as you put into them. That 675 must be a hell of a fine machine. Great video.
1983 Yamaha XT550, 1987 Kawasaki Ninja 250, 1988 Yamaha FZ600 and 1989 Yamaha FZR1000. I learned to ride on the XT550. Owned the Ninja for only 3 weeks and got hit on it. Had to get rid of the FZ600 after a ton of speeding tickets. After 22 years of not riding I bought a FZR1000 with only 4,002 miles on it in 2014. Have had it up to 154.3mph. Was my dream bike back in the day and still can't believe I own one.
Hey man! I bought the '16, 675R new, now it has 36k pretty stock except for a taylormade exhaust. Love, love, love! Canyon carver! Owned a 2003 Triumph Sprint RS955i what a great bike that was, so sorry I sold it. Looking at getting a 2005 Honda RC51 garage queen.
I own the yamaha rd350 1977 model year I think, it's my dad's bike but I daily it to my college, simple air cooled parallel twin making 40ish horsepower weights around 160kgs goes till around 105-110 miles per hour, still in pristine condition and well maintained.
My favorite bike has to be the Triumph Rocket III Touring. Yes, they made a bagger model a few years back and I owned one. It was detuned but had a driver/passenger back rest, floor boards, hard cases, heel/toe shifter, quick detach windshield, auxiliary lighting, and the most comfortable riding position anyone with a bad back could ask for.
My name is bruce. I've been riding for 49 years now and love your production on all things motorcycle. I was able to guess the 675 Daytona AND the RD 350, for what it's worth.
I learned to ride on an RD350. It was interesting to try and turn while the bike was trying to wheelie. Basically, I was forced to learn how to control the throttle on launch.
have you ever tried a honda CBR250RR MC22 from the 1990s ? I’d like to know your opinion ? revs to 20,000 rpm. I own one in Australia and there is a huge worldwide following.
The closest I have gotten to triumph is when I lined up with one at a red light. Kawi Z900 vs a 765. It was fun playing around in the empty morning streets.
5th gen VFR800 was my dream bike back in the day...couldn't afford it back then of course. earlier this year I bought one in excellent condition for about 3500$. It really is a great machine. totally analog, good useable power, fun in the twisties and it looks just as good as I remember. I don't do hooligan stuff on it though. trying to keep it nice for as long as possible. might even retire it to the living room one day...if I can stop riding it
You're gonna hate me for this, but so far, my favourite bike is my BMW R nineT Scrambler. It does EVERYTHING I want, the only problem is that it's a little heavy. I've only ridden around 6 bikes though.
For many years my favorite bike I ever owned or tried was my 1984 Ninja 900. loved the looks for it's time, ergonomics, seat hight. engine, and most of all how stable it was. I wish I still owned it today. and after test riding many different bikes over the last three years. I ended up buying a bike without ever riding it first. and I just got lucky because I totally love it. it's a 2017 Ducati 939 Supersport with 2159 km on it. non S version. after only a couple of minutes of riding it I was in love. the bike has tons of character. has very nice usable power band, is nice and stable and holds a line really good. and it looks beautiful. It had new Pirelli Diablo Rossa lV tires on it. I had test ridden the XSR 900 just a few weeks before buying it. and liked it allot. but the price new where I live is 3 or 4 thousand dollars more then in America. so I didn't buy it. and I'm happy I didn't because as soon as I road the 939 I liked it more than the XSR. and I paid way less for it. and it looks like new, and recently I went to Triumph dealer on a test riding day where they let me take out the bikes by myself. and test road a few different bikes for around fifteen minutes each. the Street triple RS I had tried a couple years earlier, but I wanted to try the new model. I liked it very much. but wish it had a full fairing. but I test road the Speed Twin 1200 for the second time. the first time was a couple years ago. and it seemed like a really nice bike back then. I liked the torque and sound of the big twin engine. but when I tried it recently in 2023 after riding my 939 for a couple of months. the bike felt like a piece of crap in comparison. the 939 engine is better, the handling is night and day better. and in my opinion the looks aren't even close. the Ducati is just in another league in my opinion. but the Street Triple RS I could own for a second bike. I really like it. I am the same as you as far as wanting to own a few bikes. right now I have the 939 and an old 250 Ninja and an old 175 enduro and a scooter. I want to keep the 939 forever, and sell the other bikes. and if I can get a house with a garage I want to get another nice bike or two. I would like to get a really nice enduro. and maybe a Street Triple RS. but there are few bikes I would keep my eyes out for on the second hand market. if I had the money to go crazy I would be the Jay Leno of bike owners. but in the real world I would be happy to have around five bikes. but the reality is I don't ride often enough for that to make sense. but when you get to my age everything doesn't need to make sense anymore. you only live once.
Why not just a h2 like it's a good bike I think seen some videos got that super charger attached to it like a car hey but yeah buy what you like zh2 it is
@nazzalgrylls1403 you know a z h2 is the same motor as the h2 on a beefed up z900 chassis design...which does weight a little but more but has a shorter wheel base....huge smile factor , and the rider triangle is way more confy
i saw a b king the other day in the canyons. I have huge respect for the Busa and the MV F3, as seeing these two bikes owned by the families of friends started my love for two wheels as a kid. it would be cool if the busa is revived in a more stock form.
I almost sold my WR250R about a year ago when I bought my new Zero DSR. Biggest mistake I never made. Since then, the Zero's been in the shop for warranty 3 times while the WRR keeps getting me to work. Love the Zero, but you just can't touch Yamaha's legendary reliability.
I remember the 2 stroke rd 350 & 400 my neighbor had the latter he sold me an old school 2 stroke Chapperelle 250 when i was a teen & ill say those old school 2 strokes had insane torque curve with a never ending powerband through the gears & wanted to stand up with the slightest twist of the throttle & keep in mind they were carburated i cant imagine having modern fuel injection & igntion systems on them those old school 2 stroke rd's where the first street legal track bikes despite the small displacement the hype was real on those not what most people would expect at all its definitely not a big minibike by any means they where truly "built different"
If you "like really unique riding experiences" but there are "not a lot of Japanese 4-cylinder bikes on the list" because you "don't find them that unique or esoteric or bespoke", then I strongly urge you to beg, borrow or steal to get a ride on a mid-80's Yamaha RZV500 and/or Suzuki RG500 Gamma; both, if at all possible. As a sport bike rider and racer, these are unicorns that I think you will love and add to your "Favorite" list (even though they're both carbureted 😛).
No MT07? Surprising... In Spain we would call the RD350 "ataúd de pijos" (poshs' casket) because of all the raw power that the bike would make and the careless driving that their owners would do (we're talking about a time where driving with a helmet was not mandatory yet). A cousin had one and had an accident with it and always tells me that the RD350 "was just too fast, but fun as heck".
I bought a new 1979 CBX and stupidly sold it after getting married. It was not particularly fast and doesn’t handle that well. 127 mph was all I could get out of it but it was super smooth and the width of that engine was so cool. With stock exhaust it was very quiet and super smooth. A fantastic piece of engineering but performance was nothing compared to modern sport motorcycles. It always got noticed but was a slug compared to the CBR929 I later owned. Sure wish I’d kept the CBR though.
Recommendation for a 50 yo dude who doesnt want a cruiser? Commute is 30 miles both ways with 22 miles of open highway. I dont like feeling like a sail in the wind and im looking to upgrade from my ninja 650.
Hey yam. It's a long shot. And i don't know if it would be worth the trip. But A place by me in Nj called pompton sports center has a cbx on display in their showroom. No idea if they would let you ride it. But it couldn't hurt to give them a shout.
Was your father Brazilian? If so, how cool! I'm also Brazilian and really like your content, keep it up!
R1. That's my list. Been riding for 47 years, owned many dozens of bikes. Not only is the performance spectacular, but it is the only bike I can recall that did everything perfectly as delivered. No annoyances, just refined precision.
The thruxton and the speed triple rr are dream bikes for me rn, especially after I got to sit on them at a dealer but they're just so expensive 😭 I was surprised at how lightweight the speed triple felt too
My dad had a 1966 Yamaha YDS 250. Great fun. My dad sold it before I turned 16 so I wouldn't get killed. Later I owned an RD50 in Japan, an RD400 and an RZ350 wated cooled!
i love my bking, but it only shares the wheels, engine, and ecu from the gen2 busa. the forks are interchangeable, but the bking is sprung softer, and has a longer wheelbase.. the bking is heavier, makes less power thanks to no ram air, a smaller airbox, and handles a little lazier.
I’ve had 2 Honda cbx1000 first had a 6 into 1 laser exhaust unbelievable sound and the second was a standard exhaust having owned 64 bikes in 47 years of riding it’s the one bike I truly regret ever selling the bike was so comfy and the engine my god was so smooth it was amazing and yes the sound was like a formula racing car 😊
I was at my local motorcycle shop and they had a gxsr 600 and a cbr650r and a cb650r and a zx6rr and a ktm790 and a ktm890 and a r7 and a aprilla rs660 and a cbr650r which out of those would be the best beginner motorcycle
I could make a montage of all the times you say the zx4rr is underwhelming. You even did a sort of deep dive with that other guy and neither of you had anything exciting to say despite comparing it against the ninja400. Yet it’s an honourable mention? 😂
Turbo a Gen 2 1340cc Hayabusa or get a Gen 3 with a TTS Supercharger kit. You could also supercharge the B-King with a TTS Supercharger kit. Gen 3 would be most reliable I'd say, and can produce 300-400hp
Got a speed twin because I like the fuel tank aesthetic better than the thruxton and also because the 2 seater, you welcome to try it before I put clip ons and mess whit the factory suspension I’m in dfw
Yea😅 you picked my favorite that I own. The ZH2 is so much fun. It's hard to explain to people how much it pulls. I have a ZX14R that I know is ultimately faster but the ZH2 just feels faster.
Yammie I'm pretty new to this channel, but have to ask why are you not located in Southern CA? You are holding back this channel solely from a days available to ride with photogenic weather, photogenic / fun roads within 30 miles radius perspectives. Seeing bikes on flat roads with flat vistas in every direction of scrub brush doesnt make me want to get and ride
Regarding wanting to ride a CBX and NR750 Hondas; many CBXs went unsold after the CB900F was introduced because it was quicker, lighter, and better handling. The NR750, while a unique bike, is just too radical to consider owning due to the maintenance schedule and parts availability. Yeah, I realize Ynoob just wants to ride these bikes and I am sure he will enjoy the experience.
The squid is strong in this one. Honesty, I loved almost every motorcycle I've ever owned. That said, I've owned a mere eleven different motorcycles. I would say my least favorites were 4-stroke dual sports. I just liked the 2-stroke dual sports better.
Been only riding for only a couple months but if I had to say a dream bike definitely the Kawasaki KZ1300 if I remember right it was Kawasaki's answer to the CBX? But yeah for me the Kawa definitely mine
I am really surprised that you didn't include the Tiger 660 and the Husqvarna 401's considering how much you gushed on those bikes. Tiger 660 is my personal holy grail.
The Yamaha Nikon isn’t a motorcycle. It’s a Trike without a cause ! How heavy is it ? What is it good for ? I can’t think of anything that it would be good at.
I had the opportunity to buy the bike my dad had back in the 80’s. The very next day I went and picked it up. It’s the 1981 Kawasaki kz750e. Such a peach of a 4 cylinder. Yam if you would like to ride it let me know.
I was going to be really sad if a speed triple didn't make this list. It might not be the traditional naked hooligan style, but I can sleep easy now. Thank you for good taste.
My brother had a RS250 as his first. They rip.... it's insane. i rode it when i was about 16 (kinda illigal over here but who cares) it's awesome. if you can find one, buy it... they are getting hard to find here in Europe
CBX and the RD350 are both worthy holy grails. The motocycla dealership in Ocean Springs, MS. has an RD350 on display. Or, at least they did a year ago. I asked...not for sale 😢
I had several RDs. But my favorite was the 1985 RZ 350. It was water cooled and had Kenny Roberts' GP500 race bike livery. It was so lightweight (after I replaced the catalytic converter pipes to proper pipes with expansion chambers) and handled so well. In the corners it could run away and hide from bigger bikes. Absolute joy to ride. Wish I had never traded it away.
You should review Triumph speed 400 that recently launch in india. It's going to be a great beginners motorcycle. You can literally see all the specs right now and its reasonably priced in India u can get views on that video. It's a request
Fascinating! Clearly you are not impressed by the latest technology and that is an interesting list. Also thanks for sharing more of your personal life l 👍👍👍

@yammienoob , Have you ever ridden an '06 Triumph Daytona 955i..?
Thoughts & impressions..?
I bet this only cou ts in the us ?
Yam's favorite is definitely the cbr500r

My dad had a 1966 Yamaha YDS 250. Great fun. My dad sold it before I turned 16 so I wouldn't get killed. Later I owned an RD50 in Japan, an RD400 and an RZ350 wated cooled!
Does your 'Busa not have rear mirrors?
i love my bking, but it only shares the wheels, engine, and ecu from the gen2 busa. the forks are interchangeable, but the bking is sprung softer, and has a longer wheelbase.. the bking is heavier, makes less power thanks to no ram air, a smaller airbox, and handles a little lazier.
I’m surprised to not see the Aprilia rs660. He’s almost convinced me to get one with all of his videos about it and the high remarks he gives it.
R7
650r. Plenty of usable, reasonable power and the transmission is crisp
Hey yam, I like your pick of the desert sled but what are your thoughts on the other Ducati scrambler variants? I have my eye on that urban motard 👀
Got a speed twin because I like the fuel tank aesthetic better than the thruxton and also because the 2 seater, you welcome to try it before I put clip ons and mess whit the factory suspension I’m in dfw
rd350 1974 was my first bike I ever had. Loved it
Yea😅 you picked my favorite that I own. The ZH2 is so much fun. It's hard to explain to people how much it pulls. I have a ZX14R that I know is ultimately faster but the ZH2 just feels faster.
Yammie what’s is your opinion on the Yamaha mto9? I am trying to decide on my first sport bike and am super interested in that bike
Watching this video after I bought a ktm duke 390 and it is still my only bike 3 years later.
Good bike 👍
He loves his Harley
Its the r1m and the 2018 s1000rr nothing can budge my heart from beating for these two
What do you think of the RVT1000 and CBR250RR
Hey, green eggs and yam, have you ever ridden the aprilia dorsoduro?
I wonder if the 2024 Street Triple RS will enter your list once you ride it.
Didn’t know you love triumph, my dream bike is the rocket 😍😍😍
Yams favorite is for sure the Venom Superbike
What do you have to say about experimental motorcycles like the Lotus C-01?
My favorite is the MV Augusta F4RR
The squid is strong in this one. Honesty, I loved almost every motorcycle I've ever owned. That said, I've owned a mere eleven different motorcycles. I would say my least favorites were 4-stroke dual sports. I just liked the 2-stroke dual sports better.
What happened to the busa? What exactly broke/ blew up ?
Still waiting for Yam to try a Honda Magna
Been only riding for only a couple months but if I had to say a dream bike definitely the Kawasaki KZ1300 if I remember right it was Kawasaki's answer to the CBX? But yeah for me the Kawa definitely mine
I am really surprised that you didn't include the Tiger 660 and the Husqvarna 401's considering how much you gushed on those bikes.
Tiger 660 is my personal holy grail.
I thought they do chain saws
No rc51 yam? Interesting, very interesting..
The Yamaha Nikon isn’t a motorcycle. It’s a Trike without a cause ! How heavy is it ? What is it good for ? I can’t think of anything that it would be good at.
Thruxton RS... A man with taste. That's an Immediate like 👌
I had the opportunity to buy the bike my dad had back in the 80’s. The very next day I went and picked it up. It’s the 1981 Kawasaki kz750e. Such a peach of a 4 cylinder. Yam if you would like to ride it let me know.
Cant decide if i should get the rocket 3 or street triple 1200 rr?
Ninja 900 high-speed cruising decent seating position but don't get stuck in traffic😅 bought a new 85 at 19 years old had it 6 years still alive😂
Miss the sound clip audio for each motorcycle like the older videos ❤
After being a follower of this channel for so long, i feel like the only none Japanese bike I will own is some kind of Triumph.
Consider new Diavel V4
I was going to be really sad if a speed triple didn't make this list. It might not be the traditional naked hooligan style, but I can sleep easy now. Thank you for good taste.
Perhaps Yammie's best video. 😁💯
My brother had a RS250 as his first. They rip.... it's insane. i rode it when i was about 16 (kinda illigal over here but who cares) it's awesome. if you can find one, buy it... they are getting hard to find here in Europe
FUK YES YOU MADE MY DAY Mr.Noob RD 350 Thank you and the color is correct ❤😮😅😊😮😂 LOVED that bike :)
the huskie 501 feels like it has force of nature levels of torque but instead of a tsunami, like a Harley. its more like a hurricane.
Nice resume! Yam to WSBK?
What about Moto Morini Corsaro 1200? Very unique bike!
Also thanks for sharing more of your personal life l 👍👍👍
quick question since i am a European fan can i still join the giveaways or is it usa+canada only?
Turbo BUSA rebuild!!! Make it faster and nicer so it hurts more when brah blows it up again 😅
The way you describe your bikes, there is probably your DNA up in the pipes .😂
Anyone know what's up with papa yams left arm? It looks pale to me, or is it just a tan on the forearm? :D
All japanese 250cc 2 strokes and 500 cc you missed them there, 2 strokes ftw. Edit: track sport bikes old school
CBX with six into six sounds soo much better than a six into one.
I thought you would mention the hypermotard.
You should review the gsxs 750. Pretty acceptable daily street bike
Yams needs to ride the triumph thunderbird commander
No Ducati Desmosedici?
Great list, hope to get the chance to ride some of those myself.
