This isn’t a place to visit, although the you tuber Wandering Turnip’ (David) is from Hebden Bridge …an AMAZING place to visit ..my Mum and I just love sitting on the bench at the side of the actual bridge to people and animal watch..and feed the birds 🦅 x x x

When I lived in Canterbury the Cathedral was free entry , and the abuse by tourists was horrible , shouting , joking , swearing , spitting chewing gum out on the floors, insulting the local people . Perhaps charging keeps the yobs out .

You missed a historic treat.. the orange cafe called chambers that you walked past was originally the building that first recruited pilgrims to leave and start a new life in America on the Mayflower. The cafe serves amazing American style burgers.

Its a bit of fun, its edited carefully to add some entertainment and character to a travel vlog. There are hundreds of vlogs where people read robotically off a script. This is our style, we enjoy it and so do many other people, if you don't like it that's fair enough but we're not going to change.

York is £18 we were there last weekend, and with only an hr left until closing, they would not change price. My home Norwich is free as you rightfully mentioned. Love the videos fella you and Helen are gold ✨️

What I used to do when I leaved in Canterbury for 3 months house setting for a mate was go in Canterbury cathedral telling the door staff that I whant to light a candle so thay can't refuse entry 😅so I do buy a candle on put couple of quid in
Great idea...I think these places should simply ask for a donation that you feel you can afford...churches and places of worship - wherever they are should be free to all and the donation amount (or lack of it) should be left to the visitor...lighting a candle and making an appropriate donation is a perfect solution...IMO

The "Server Wait" segment struck kinda close to home. We went out to breakfast this morning in Tirana, they handed us a menu, and then vanished. 30 minutes later when they came back to take our order, they also told us that breakfast had ended 25 minutes earlier. When we pressed it he said "I was waiting for you to call me over".
Ahem ... we tried every few minutes and got the "I'm not looking at you" thing. 😕

10 minutes in I was on the window ledge then I remembered my ex girlfriend in Filey , we were waiting for our meals and when the waitress put the meals on the table my ex loudly stated that she had seen someone nicking chips off the plate , then I realised we hadn't ordered these meals they were for the table next to us LOL 😁😎
Well at least Joe tried 🙂 All the emissions based diesel add-ons cause loads of grief. DPF clogs, ad-blue gumming up injectors.... and to think not that long ago (I'm old), diesel engines were promoted by the government as a more-efficient (do I dare say, cleaner) alternative to petrol....

Glad you made it around and saw most of the sights like Westgate Gardens, the Cathedral, and even the Masonic Museum ..which I
really enjoyed for the antiques Masonic Georgian glass etc.
Canters IS a huge pain in the @rse though...in terms of it being a permanently overcrowded "honeypot".
It has a student population of over 30,000...plus...add into that all the language school students from Italy, Spain, etc...AND overseas tourists, coming to see the "Mother Church" of the Church of England, and you can see why it is so rammed all the time.
It's only about 15 mins from me but I only go there now if I really HAVE to, or to the big Sunday morning boot sale they have in the outskirts throughout the year.
Tell Helen that she needs to cut you a bit of slack over the "hangry" thing, as that is something I've always suffered from too.
If I don't eat in time...my blood sugar drops and I get a mahoosive headache.
"Hypoglycemic"...I think is the term.
Tbh...I would have just bought a pasty from the pasty shop near The Weavers (where the punting was)...sod all that sitting around waiting to be served malarkey.
The only thing you missed really was the excellent City Museum in the high street.
As far as the Cathedral goes...yeh...its a disgrace charging that amount.
I got in there for free because my eldest daughter had her degree award ceremony in there about 20 years ago, as she went to Uni in Canterbury.
The university grounds are like a whole other town in itself...just about half a mile up the hill from the city centre.
It is HUGE...and has loads of its own cafes, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, cinema, and theatres.
Anyhoo...glad you made it back in one piece...and sorry it was such a troubled trip.
I'm sure you would have loved Folkestone, as it's the biggest and probably most scenic of all the Kent seaside towns.
Maybe another day.

Hi Guys, just wanted to say how much I have been enjoying your videos, kind of stumbled by them whilst on a RUclips wander... really enjoyed these kent ones... Next time you are in Kent you should swing by Maidstone, it's got plenty of history and some great architecture (if that's your thing) just look up when in town. It's had a bit of decline if I'm honest but then what town hasn't! There are some lovely pubs hidden away in the countryside around Maidstone, I recommend The Ringlestone inn ( a bit of a drive from town tbf but you'll be well rewarded for the effort)... any way just wanted to say hey and thanks for your work in making quality uploads... I have to say Helen is adorable and her laugh is so Infectious! Have a good one and keep on keeping on!... hopefully we'll see you visiting Kent again soon. Regards Jim 😊😊

When York Minster was been underpinned as it was sinking, I think there was a charge to go in to see the foundation works from the late 1960's. Spent over an hour under there as it was a guided tour around 1970, it was very interesting how they did it, I remember walking on scaffold gang planks with temporary lighting strung up like a Santa's grotto, bet they would not let the public into a site like that these days😆

If you ever visit Canterbury again, you can catch a local bus from the station after the Park & Ride buses stop running which will drop you off on the main road outside the Park & Ride with the same ticket up until around 23:30. Saves a long walk!

Just found you after Rick Stein chippy. Made me laugh a few times. Didn’t like Margate much… liked the little shops though. I’ve always wanted to try an oyster but avoided it so far. I eat fish every other day though. You’re in Broadstairs now. I like your style and that accent is fab’ I’m near the Severn Bridge. I’m a fish and chip connoisseur. James, just had problem with blocked DPF trying to regen all the time- had it taken off and deep cleaned - now runs like new. Cost £500 but wanted to keep car(VWPassat). Cracking videos-keep them coming!

Happened to us, we wandered into a cathedral to use the ladies room and check out the cafe. Next thing we know we are being ushered to a seat, and handed a prayer book!We were in the middle of a row, couldn’t escape!Hottest day of the year. When the others got up to take communion we followed them, GO GO GO!!! We legged it!😆

I've been to Evensong at York Minster and laughed at Helen's comment about the Catholic church as my partner is catholic and I've suffered only once a full service and then communion of a relative.. so I completely agree with Helen's laugh about evensong😂

You can regenerate ur dpf if you get a warning light before it goes into limp mode,not possible sometimes but I done it a few times. If you drive 20mins or so on motorway at 60-70 mph in 4th gear the exhaust gets hot enough to burn off the diesel particles which is what the garage does. Always worked for me,anyway good luck vids are great n ur sense of humour is too fook what all the haters say x

Oh im so sorry you didnt go in the cathedral, it is absolutely amazing, ive been in a few, but that was the first i really went in and nothing compares, it is astonishing. I would pay again if i took somebody else with me just so they could experience it, it blew mind mind. Huge and so diverse, the different stones, sights feelings! And im not religious, the architecture seriously left me speechless, and i can talk!!! 😅
