Bradford is extremely friendly, asian and down to earth. when i first went to uni i stayed at laisteridge lane and was blown away by the food and hospitality. its a great place to visit and live in
Used to live in the halls of residence 22 years ago. It’s changed and it hasn’t. This used to be the old westleigh hotel. There was hardly any traffic either.
I'm from Sweden and I hear my self saying "Now then, back on the road again guys" when I enter my car and at restaurangs "ohh mee days" and "thats absolutely bang on". My friends and kids looks strangely at me when this happens not understanding a thing 😅

The waiter guy was really knowledgable, if he does that for every customer (and not just social media Danny) , then wow they are onto a winner, if not, he still knew his stuff, and the food looked well nice.

No, UK Indian takeaways was invented in the 1960s by East Pakistani (Bangladeshis) , the people you West Pakistanis tried to exterminate. Also Peshawari Naan is the worst thing on the menu.
Now this is nostalgic to see! I remember visiting a similar place, since my dad had organized a small hangout with a couple of his colleagues and invited me to tag along. Ordering a kilo curry for four men, sat on those 'chaarpais' and having them served straight out of the flame with equally fresh naans... miss it.
1. It’s pronounced : My “Pey- Shower” 2. NO WAY is it 30 quid per person. that meal will feed 5 easy (with maybe 3 more naan’s ordered). The karahi is for 2-3 on its own. The rice (Kabuli Pilau) is for 2 on its own. The mix grill + Chapli Kabab is for 2. So you are looking at a meal for 5 at 12-14 pounds per person for an all meat meal!
The issue is he was not genuine and explain to a person who does not know about the cuisine the portion sizes. It was clear Danny felt like he was taken for a ride

The waiter ruined the experience for Danny by adding items on bill he did not want/order and did not explain portion sizes and took advantage of this by letting him order a kabuli pilau for 2 ppl when Danny thought it was a small pilau rice portion
Back in the day I used to visit this place when it was the Westleigh Pub & was usually packed with students from Bradford Uni. How times have changed..! Having said that great review Danny & I will definitely check this place out next time I visit Bradford, although I'm partial to go first to the International Restaurant down the street.

That amount of food is easily good for at least three people, so very good value for money indeed. Huge plate of rice with probably a 300g lamb shank in it; lamb chop, fish pakora, chicken tikka, lamb off the skewer; the lamb kebab burger thing; nice plate of salad and two large naan breads; and not forgetting the large curry itself. Really decent value - although I wouldn't have ordered it as I hate meat on the bone like in that curry.
This guy is what all great Yorkshire people are like. In fact everyone in this video, is nothing but friendly. Peter Kay based an entire career, on real people, just like him. Love it.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😀
This place is a restaurant. It shouldn't really be on a channel dedicated to reviewing takeaways. The service is restaurant service because he's essentially sitting down in the restaurant (albeit outside). It's not a takeaway i.e. wrapped up and ready to be carried home. It's an unfair review.

Great hospitality though. Definitely deserved a 10. This could feed 4 people easily. One of the first ratings were I think you made a mistake.
I'd eat there. It is really nice to see lamb cooked properly, not "pink" as many celebrity chefs are trying to tell us is correct. We're Welsh, lamb is cooked like a roast. If you want meat rare, eat steak, lamb should be cooked through - chefs, please explain why lamb that isn't a roast or a cawl is "best served pink".

the first time in England I've seen a proper Afghan pila rice, packed with raisins and carrots. usually there's 3 strands of carrot and 2 raisins in one portion.
Because with a receipt they have to declare it as a sale and pay tax. Without a receipt they could write it off as wastage and dodge the tax. It is quite typical of these places.

I have been to this place with a friend of mine and I swear every dish we saw brought out,looked like a family or a party dish amd when it was put down there was usually one or two people eating, the portions are huge, Although Danny got a lamb shank aswell, even without this it’s honestly massive portions.

Food here really isn't that expensive, I have had the shared platter and a naan bread shared between two people for dinner and it was a perfect size for under £30 for 2 people. The fish was amazing!! The best fish I've had from a curry place, would highly highly recommend people come here if you want something different from your standard British Indian food. Just look at the people inside the restaurant, the clientele shows how the food is more authentic than normal Indian food in the UK

One of your video's came up on my youtube page the other day, now I'm hooked. When you walked into this place it was full of Asians, always a good sign. If they like it, its going to be good.. I was a chef for about 30 years and worked really hard to produce the best food I could but got no recognition for it apart from my customers. The country is full of small places that produce magnificent food that are only known by word of mouth. This place is obviously very proud of their food and your review will probably make a huge difference to their business. Spread the love of good food my man...

I've been here and got very similar treatment. They do look after their customers well.

@@acheface I’d love to know what marco meant by this. If you eat at a restaurant you’re usually served by waiters. They’ve obviously got the manager out to serve Danny’s food and I’ve got no problem with that. Danny has a huge reach to thousands of people so why wouldn’t you make an effort to show off how good your business is? Most businesses would do the same. Very strange comment!

Food here really isn't that expensive, I have had the shared platter and a naan bread shared between two people for dinner and it was a perfect size for under £30 for 2 people. The fish was amazing!! The best fish I've had from a curry place, would highly highly recommend people come here if you want something different from your standard British Indian food. Just look at the people inside the restaurant, the clientele shows how the food is more authentic than normal Indian food in the UK

One of your video's came up on my youtube page the other day, now I'm hooked. When you walked into this place it was full of Asians, always a good sign. If they like it, its going to be good.. I was a chef for about 30 years and worked really hard to produce the best food I could but got no recognition for it apart from my customers. The country is full of small places that produce magnificent food that are only known by word of mouth. This place is obviously very proud of their food and your review will probably make a huge difference to their business. Spread the love of good food my man...
