Also, how often do "game wardens" stop your boat to check catch and boat safety? Videos covering these encounters would be instructive!

Why don’t you just hang ‘‘em in the freezer for 20-30 min and put them to sleep rather then stabbing them?
Also do you remove the poo tube as it looks like you didn’t, if you don’t, why not?

I had a yellow lab that went fishing with me all the time. He ended up liking shiners, he got so excited when i caught a net full. he would not stop eating them! LOL one day while camping on an island by the skyway, i got up and left for fishing. i had my back to the campsite, but i was about 200 yards away. I caught a nice trout and I heard my wife screaming. I looked up and here came Cala. he swam all the way to me, I loaded him in the boat and fed him a dozen shiners. I miss that dog. enjoy having a dog like that, i did for about 12 years.

Man, it is to admire your respect for these creatures and how you treat your hunt with regard and professionalism. I've seen videos from this 2022 mini-season of some characters grabbing lobsters by hand, flattening them, and tearing them apart before they even know if it's a female with eggs or an out-of-measure juvenile lobster. Once again, my respect goes out to you!

Watching you dive on lobsters really brings back fond memories of my days lobstering. Back in those days, there was no limit but my personal limit was 20... then again there were sooo many lobsters. My method back then was to find the antennas sticking out and then approach the lobster from the backside where he can't see me. Then tickle only the antennas and he will come nearly completely out of the hole to investigate...where you can then grab him around the top. Works nearly every time back then, but then again lobsters were not menaced as much as they are now and I guess they tend to get smart.

Wow, what a cool and calm video...
Your relaxed attitude, the no show-off and controlled method of catching the crayfish is such a different angle from the others doing similar.
The preparation and cooking the crayfish was nice, but where was the credit to the missus in doing the crisp green beans and mash 🤔🤔. 😏
Another nice way is to put a little bit off sea water in a bigger pot, pack some thick kelp on the bottom, maybe some small round river stones, and place the crayfish above the watermark and steam them until done. That way you don't lose a lot of flavour when boiling them in water..
    Last note...
The meat in the legs and head is still the best, but you know that.
    😋😋😋
    Thanks for the nice video.

So Lobster Blood (all crustaceans) : The reason it is clear and blueish is because the protein in their blood that caries oxygen is myoglobin not hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is what makes our blood red and is the protein in red blood cells that transports and releases oxygen to the various cells in our body. Love your channel!! Ed

@@KeyWestWaterman bro I live in Round Rock Texas. But I have family in Alaska. Usally go every 2 or 3 yrs for a couple weeks. I was going to spearfish for halibut this yr but weather didn't allow for it. Still brought home lots of halibut, king, silver and pink salmon and a bunch of black rockfish and yellow eye. I still am planning in the next yr or so to come down and dive with you one day and chase a sword another. It is so hot here in Texas the fire hydrants are chasing dogs. Alaska was a cool 40 to 50 while there but my heart is in the keys or somewhere tropical. You and Madalynn stay safe Sir and keep up the good work. I did pass on one of my buddy's your info to try to book a charter when he is in key west pretty soon hope yall can hook up.
