I wasn’t bored at watching you catch crabs. There’s always the sea life around you. I live in NW Washington State. Even though I love to visit Kauai, I have dreamed of spending time in Fla. I experienced a curve ball 33 days after retiring from my 43 year long nursing career with a diagnosis of leukemia during the first part of summer. Due to my chemo and a lack of physical therapy (due to the times of COVID) , I have to learn how to stand first. I am so grateful for you and other RUclipsrs that give me the hope that when I get back on my feet, I am going to explore the Florida coast . I am just as happy watching people catch fish and enjoying the salt air and catching those Vitamin D rays( which I am totally lacking right now while I have been in rehab since Oct after a hospital stay of 88 days. Keep on doing what you are doing, your voice is a calm one as I can tell that you are an introvert .

@@donaldhodge1700 They do grow back if harvested properly and in my opinion its just more humane and professional by the individual to just take one as he searches for others.. but always check with state regulations to see if they are in season and of proper size

what do studies suggest in terms of them feeling pain when their claw get removed?
axolotls can grow their limbs back as well but do feel pain regardless

i mean theres a reason they have claws, they need them for survival i guess 😅

Worst part about lobsters and crabs for me is that I developed a shellfish allergy in my adulthood. I know how they taste and what I'm missing. I still go lobstering off marathon. But mostly for my wife. Now the little enjoyment I get is from watching her eat my cooked lobsters.

Dud you always have the coolest stuff.....There won't be any open water here for two months.....it is nice to see blue.....and for me at least, I have never dove for lobster or crab....so what seems mundane to you, is an exciting adventure for me. And what I really like, it is real life...."excuse our mess"....we all have a messy house....and believe it or not, it adds credibility to the posts you produce.
    Keep up the good work....
    Dave

I haven’t been stone crabbing in years. I’m in EYW a few times a year. Gonna have to go now. I have a recipe for an amazing mustard sauce if you want it.

Love that educate comment right around 13:55. My brother and I had our dive flag out and had a very close call with another boat while spearfishing off Tavernier.

Love it! I can only imagine getting pinched by one of these guys. Up North here I crab for blue crabs and those suckers hurt like an sob, but they don't seem nearly as strong as a stone crab. Thanks for another fun episode. Just realized I'm wearing my dibs on bottom shirt as I was watching this.
