- 9 months into owning the hyped-up Polaris Pro R launch edition, what has held up? What has broken down? What have I replaced? I've been jumping and bumping this thing all over the western United States, I answer all these questions and more.

Very good honest feedback. The main point being, the Pro R is awesome but unaffordable for many people. The X3 RR is way less money and competes right along side the R.
Yep very true great cat if it’s in the budget but you can get just as fast for less just not all the bells and whistles
You dont need to get the elite model. Just get the base. Also id say that you still get more features then the can am
Thanks for the review..I bought a 22xrc so fair I love it... I like the pro r never drove 1 yet but for what I got for the money I'm happy with can am... keep bringing on the videos...!!
Thanks that rc is a good car for sure
My only 2 beefs with the PRo R (beyond the tires is 1. Mine will not shift from 2WD into 4WD unless I’m stopped. 2. Gas mileage is terrible!
Things you need to get used to that are awesome
1. Ride Command. It’s a neat tool, but if you don’t know how to use it, it’s frustrating.
2. Many times I’ve gone from being in one drive/suspension mode for a while, and then get into a different scenario and completely forget to switch it to another mode.
3. The car is so fun and exhilarating to drive, that I really have to be mindful when driving on paved roads or near houses. I try to keep the noise down, and not rip around town, but there is nothing like the sound of burning some rubber. Gotta tame the beast inside!
Great Video!
Ya a couple negatives but a lot of positives for sure
I keep meaning to ask you and other Pro R owners if you have been able to shift from 2WD to 4WD while driving?
@@UTV-A I have never tried to I have herd of people breaking the cables so I try to be fully stopped so I don’t brake it they are on back order I herd
Thanks for the video, informative, and the invite. Where’s your track at?
Close to lake Havasu az email us if your interested
Great video. Appreciate the honesty. Who builds those rock sliders?
They are the Polaris ones thanks
I went from xp4 1000 to can am x3 XRS rr in 2020 was a no brainer at the time I couldn’t wait I was out driving the xp. I needed more speed. Pro R is definitely beast but like you said it all comes to what you can afford. No regrets on the can am for sure. Maybe my next car will be a pro r but who knows😂.
Ya with price being different it’s a tough decision for sure but same price it’s a no brainer
It's actually normal for the springs to sag like that. They're just settling. My shock therapy springs did the same thing after 3 months.
Ya for sure shocks settle I got my shock therapy springs a little stiffer than needed so they can settle to what I want
It normal for springs to settle but not to continuously settle like the stock Polaris springs will. Shock therapy even tells you their springs settle once and after that you lock your ride height in and never have to adjust it again. I have adjusted my stock springs several times to get it back to stock ride height but they keep sagging. But that’s why aftermarket is so big for springs! Awesome review!
@@SchmidtysOffroad ya we adjusted twice and then got new springs after that
I have herd a lot of great things about the work you guys do Thanks
Thank you for testing all stock and still not sure why the hell polaris can add some shock therapy springs on the higher end modles as yeah they wear quick on the stock.
Ya that would be nice
Awesome review! Keep the information coming. What about your system 3 sand tires? I have a Pro R and I'm looking for paddles tires but I'm not sure which ones to get: System 3, Tensor, Skat Trak, or a combination. Thanks.
Thanks they are smooth and awesome for sandy trails but you won’t win any races you need scoops on the back I’ll be putting scoops on the back of mine for big dunes
Glad it’s held up for you
Great car
Well money’s not in issue there’s a really nice Pro R with tons of accessories at my local shop it’s just no where to ride it here in NC it would be a pointless buy to me very attractive in person tho. just sold my Turbo S for a 22 pro xp ultimate black crystal 😁❤
Ya it’s a wide big car won’t fit everywhere for sure
I have a Pro R ordered from same place you got yours and supposed to be part of the October build order. So, I'm sure we'll see you around. Quick question about the tires, what is the air pressure you run them at around on those Havasu trails?
Awesome see you soon hopefully
I’m not picky about my tire pressure lol usually in the 15 area give or take a little
@@desertsxs apprecaite the info... I also plan on not being picky about my tire pressure.
@@mikfoc awesome
@@desertsxs do, you see the comment below? Is that from you?
@@mikfoc no getting spammed
Great video yall
Thanks
I really want a new SxS I'm at that point where everyone in my group has something nicer than my customized 2015 XP1000. I have no problems keeping up in the dunes, just getting up some of the larger hills makes me sad. Just have to be full throttle more often I guess. I put probably the cost of the vehicle back into it in mods, cage lights, seats sereo, belts skids arms, doors seats, suspension, radios. Not looking forward to having to do all that all over again. I have not added a turbo as I don't think it would handle the power very well, and seems better to just learn to drive it as is (I already broke both clutches, radius rods, and drive shaft at 3085 miles). Looks like with the Can Ams and some turbo mods you can get close to 300HP, most people seem to be buying those in our group. Probably going to wait to see how my friends runs with a tune and new turbo. I have never driven a Canam though. I kinda miss the old days where your vehicle wouldn't be out of date in a few years. I still have my 86 250R and 2000 Banshee.
Also are you running the ss360’s in the dunes?? How are they doing out there?
They do but I’m going to put scoops on the back this season
@Desert SXS on a stock 2 seat pro r versus a stock 2 seat turbo r, when comparing engine noise, engine exhaust noise, transmission noise, and driveline noise in the cabin while driving is one of the two models noticeable louder than the other? Also comparing engine heat, cvt heat, and radiator heat in the cabin while driving is one of the two models noticeable hotter than the other ?
Would you do a 10,000 mile review please....
I doubt I keep it that long
Are the plastics that faded or is it just oxidized looking at purchasing a pro r
Do you like the system 3 ss360s? Do you have a review video?
We don’t have a review of that but I only use them for the front now and have a scoop tire in rear
@@desertsxs have you ever used the ss360 HDs in the rear?
@@aw9680 I have friends with them they are an awesome smooth ride I recommend for that but drag up a hill not aggressive enough If you don’t care about that I recommend the hd version they are very smooth and less noise than scoops
they just don’t have the out of the whole traction
Where you at and where is that track??
Close to lake Havasu az email us if you want to come out
Ya
Is this an ultimate if not do you think the ultimate shocks would have such bad springs that need tp be replaced so soon?
it is and multiple friends diff models springs go quick if you ride hard and jump if your not going to drive it crazy hard they will last a long time
Thanks for sharing.
You bet
What’s your favorite car
#1. X3 64 inch
#2. Pro XP
@@montanamountainutv ya would the 76” be to wide up there for the trails ?
@@montanamountainutv agreed 👍
@@desertsxs not legally too wide, but it makes it tougher. Slows ya down a bit.
@@montanamountainutv ya I wouldn’t want the car to max out the width of the trail for sure
How many miles are on this car?
I think 1400 ish maybe more
Good car
I hate the pro R engine sound.
Ya it’s very loud in aftermarket we have one on it now
Shock theraphy sucks
It’s going to be a great Track season!
Oh ya
