These are the real numbers, but keep in mind the power loss in 4x4. The speed would not Dyno in 2x4 because of the built in Torque Management system. There is an estimated 9 HP power loss from the power train according to speed. If the clutch was tuned just for 91 pump gas the stock tune would probably deliver another 15-20 HP but since the clutching is designed for both the 91 pump gas and Speed key on E85 there is a convenience factor there. Just wait for the Speed key and watch the car dominate! I’m not sure what the Speed key is going for, but mine was $1

EVO dyno'd the Maverick R several days ago. They were manually shifting it to see which gears gave better results on the dyno. It made 217 at the tire in fourth and 214 at the tire in fifth. Then they tuned it......
Plus they already have a few Beta tunes and are probably the only company that can unlock the ECU
@heathdietz115 evo said its the easy ecu to get into not the one that needs to be unlocked
EVO told me it is the MG1 ECU, so it is tough to crack.

The different transmissions make a big difference on how the power gets to the ground. The Can Am DCT trans is a more efficient than the CVT belt transmission. There is a reason the top performance cars are running DCT transmissions. The Porsche PDK is a prime example. Awesome vid guys, keep them coming!
Totally agree gear to gear trans is by far more efficient to putting power down.
I’m going to say there is no way that speed car is passing the sound regs. 93 decibels not very far away at all from that exhaust tip. Just no way it’s passing to get the certification

For everyone saying the 140-150 whp number is bogus, why did it get waxed by a car that makes 160-170 and weighs the same?
Not saying it isn’t bogus, but the speed is very heavy haha so even with 300 hp it won’t be spectacular

Appreciate you guys showing all these cars. What a time to be alive honestly, when all of the manufacturers have cool cars. Right now I'm looking at a 23 X3 XRC, which is still 4-5 thousand cheaper than the baseline R with QS3's and I think it fits what I want the most. Really curious about the longevity of these DCT's as I love the concept/driving experience but we know this is an expensive game.
That is a very good question. What is the life span of DCT? Slamming all those gears, you would think would wear or have issues in time. What is the repair cost on these? Other than throwing belts, you hardly hear anything about transmission problems for the belt driven rigs. How well do the Honda Tallons DCT hold up?

@@rzrbanshee8588 we have actually raced a pror 2 pror 4 many times against each other and with friends same with a turbos2 and turbos4 many times and shown that the difference is shocking similar on dirt I was surprised every time how close they have been. we only did pavement here because there wasn’t dirt close by.

Hard cause you introduced another factor. Speed in 4wd. The amount of drag ur getting outta the front diff axels cv wheel bearings. For reference 1 degree of cv angle is 7hp. So be nice to dyno the polaris and can am in 4wd and see difference. Could always pulled front prop shaft out run it 2wd.

I believe the speed car doesn’t get full 225 hours until after it gets some miles on it. Part of the break in tuning. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that’s what I heard from Todd R.
That sounds like bs. I figured these would be the numbers. Robby never posted numbers. He is probably talking 225 at the crank. The only disadvantage is that the speed wasn't running in just 2wd. I have a speed on order. This is disappointing but hopefully the suspension will be able to push through the whoops over the other high hp cars

@@VetStrand doesn't bother me that much. Just a disappointment. I didn't expect it to have 225 to the wheels but 75 hp lost through the drive train seems like a lot. Would be curious to see second opinions on the dyno

On the Maverick R 215 at the wheels would equate to a 11% drive train loss. Thats pretty normal for a automatic transmission. 👍

So was wondering if theres a way to dyno them all in 4x4 and a rolling start at 30mph or whatever the speed is limited at? Agree, as something wasn't right about not being able to disengage 4wd on the Speed. And I believe Robby went a little too safe on customer car tuning. I do know they are capable of way more than what was put down here.

If the clutch was tuned just for 91 pump gas the stock tune would probably deliver another 15-20 HP but since the clutching is designed for both the 91 pump gas and Speed key on E85 there is a convenience factor there. Just wait for the Speed key and watch the car dominate! I’m not sure what the Speed key is going for, but mine was $1

Which is best for desert track and dune driving? do either fly balanced or both nose heavy ?
Dune hands down mav r track depends upon how fast you want to go and if you are heavy on throttle mav r will do okay on a jump

@@desertsxs oh it has a manual? At the beginning that first sxs on the dyno seemed like it was just like a 2 second pull and done.
I like hub dyno numbers to eliminate traction and tire variables. I still believe Can Am has the two fastest out of the box cars. I think polaris made a mistake with the NA motor most people don't have 6 grand for a turbo.
Most people don’t need or want that much h.p.. most people are just rock climbing or trail riding.
Chupacabra off-road already did a comparison showing the maverick x3 smoke the pro r and speed. They didn’t even need to drop a new car yet 😂

I'm curious why there is such a large difference in your drag race with the pro R and chupacabra vs the pro R. Makes me wonder if Robby detuned your batch of cars. Maybe chupacabra did clutching? Or maybe the wheel and tire package he runs? It's about a 2-3 car length difference, and that's pretty significant.
We did the drag race multiple times with the same results. It’s the torque management system at the first 30 MPH

I have a pro r 4 w/stage 3 bikeman kit and it rocks. Beat my friends x3 that has bigger turbo on pump. His car is a 2 seat so I weigh almost 1000 pounds more. I have an x3 2 seater also with Whalen turbo kit and I don’t think my pro r would take it on e85 but pump gas the pro r I’m pretty sure would win handily. My x3 on e85 would probably take it but I think it would be close.
The Speed cars look like a huge disappointment power wise.

Crazy that the can am maverick x3 is advertised at 200hp and puts 160-170 on the dyno yet speed is advertising 225 and only putting out 150. It sounds like Robby seriously exaggerated those numbers on the speed. The turbo r is advertised at 180 and is putting down similar numbers to the speed on the dyno 😂
Its a Maverick R advertised 240HP not 200
The other car is Pro R 225HP not 180hp
They also had to run the speed in 4x4 other cars in 2 wheel drive.
X3 is 200 just like he said. And 4wd without the front tires is very little difference

You should talk to RG to request those Expensive utv to come next time with DCT, with CVT you cant gave 6 speed on the fly. speed with 1-3 is just H L and Crawling mode

Are you referring to his trophy truck? Why would anyone put a cvt behind a high horse power v8 with 1000 plus horsepower that makes no sense when they have specially designed transmission’s that they run in trophy trucks.

@@porroco Yamaha runs a geared synchronized style trans similar to a dirt bike not a dct. Explain a little more about what you mean with the cvt and his race truck maybe read back what you wrote.

Wow. Speed is looking anemic compared to the competition. It appears that Robby exaggerated actual HP numbers or has way more loss than all the competition. It is kinda a downer if ya are waiting for a car.
Pro r stock is 180hp. Then when you tell these speed guys the numbers are down they bring up the speed key. They all bring up the speed key like they have been brainwashed. Best thing to tell them is tell them your gonna turn your car aswell.
The Speed Key only adds 75 hp. It would need to put 95% of that to the tires to match the Mav R on pump gas. It is supposed to be 225 hp stock, but only puts 150 to the tires. That's 33% loss. Based on those numbers, the Speed Key will put 200 hp to the tires.
