Would you go over the rigs that you’re comparing? They are not all stock or new. The YXZ is a pre-2019 model with an aftermarket cage, exhaust, and tire size at least. Some are carrying heavy accessories while others aren’t.
A spare tire and lights aren’t going to make much of a difference. If we do this again we would definitely talk about the year and model. The chalking part was finding unmolested drivetrains

They appear to be so bad i would consider it a serious safety concern and could see legal safety issues. Robby should hurry and fix the issue. It is totally unacceptable for a performance utv.
Don't take Desert SXS as the Holy Grail of testing, far far from it. The brake test was so flawed and they did mention that the brakes may have needed to be bled....funny that they were raeching out to SPEED for a solution instead of bleeding the brakes themselves. LOL

Driving style is why there can be a variety of different machines that sell well. I own an x3 and I thought this would be the last season with it and I would get a Maverick R. After seeing the videos of it and in person at the sand show, I am not a fan. I am now looking at pro-r or speed. I want to see the speed in the dunes for a season and with the speed key. I do really like how light the x3 is, none of the new machines are light and none seem as nimble.
Something’s gotta be done about those speed brakes and it shouldn’t have to be the Wilwood upgrade. I find it very strange that Robby would put these cars out with brakes that bad. This is the third speed car I’ve seen with horrible brakes. The XX has awesome brakes, mine will lock up all 4 at just about any speed. Granted, it’s lighter and has smaller tires.
No. They said my car should have the updated compound. They tested their cars on the pavement. This is a true dirt test. I think my brakes need to be bled, I did make speed aware of that.

Need the new updated pads from Speed. That car clearly still has the old ones. Also the XRC brakes suck on that test car or the ones on my XRC are really good.

My pro r completely fell apart with less than 200 miles on it. One minute we were driving at 30 mph on a flat dirt road, the next we were stopped with a sheared main frame and broken ball joints around $17k in repairs. Very disappointed in polaris.

It’s crazy there are no Honda Talons. I love my 2019 Honda Talon. It’s no speed Demond by any means and is way under powered compared to what’s out there. Honda won’t do what the people ask for so I’m doing it myself. I have the full HCR 72” Long Travel. Full Shock Therapy spring kit. Rock Crusher Wheels. 33” System3 RT320 tires. Krash Off Road cage. There is a full Alba Racing motor in the works. With the 25% gear reduction from Reduction Boss it should give me around 150 - 155 HP none Turbo to the wheels. Fingers are crossed.
As a talon owner they just dont stack up against the turbo machines in the big stuff stock here on the east in the woods theres a ton of them would be cool to compare honda to can am dct though but thats about it lol
Seems the more truly independent reviews come out for the Maverick R, the less impressive it is. Not really surprised. The fact there was literally no one saying anything negative at all about the car during the canam events was suspicious.
There is a reason they avoided specific people when it came to those events. It's been made clear in the past that some manufactures were offering quite a bit to youtubers that would be willing to hype up their products.
Cool to see this test. I understand the challenges of getting a group of completely stock cars together. There’s just too many variables such as spare tires, different tire sizes, aftermarket parts that add weight like cages etc. Again appreciate the effort but hard to put too much stock into it
Speed car also had a spare. Not Speed fault the other mfgs didn’t make it safer to carry a spare like most will do in the desert. With speed you get a lower center of gravity.

It seems that as much R&D went into the Speed I feel it has a lot of disappointing shortcomings. Tons of anticipation was focused on that machine! In my opinion it fell short of the hype. Although I will say it’s a sweet looking ride.

Sure it still needs “the red key” to reach its full potential. So maybe “ a lot “ was a bit strong. Nevertheless this machine was supposed to be leaps and bounds better than the competitors .Polaris and Can Am caught up before the Speed even showed up to the party. Just my opinion, I’m not trying to change your mind and you aren’t changing mine. Cool looking machine though.
@@Rubbermeetsrd The amount of years/R&D that went into the Speed is actually substantially less than Polaris or Can-Am put into the ProR or the MavR. Yet, you see the same amount of small issues in both of those manufacturers. While you didn't see it, or probably know about it. The ProR and MavR were both in testing/R&D for 5 years before they were released.
Interesting, the Speed car ranked highest in suspension among the new technology electronics and smart shocks of the other cars. 👍

Can't go wrong with the proven Pro R. Just put the first 100 miles on mine.

Pro Rs now have rebates and no more dealer mark ups, add turbo or super charger and the Pro R will wipe the floor with all these cars

All I can say is I would never buy a first gen.
I've rode in a Maverick R they are fast, handle flat and large bumps well.

What UTV are you talking about? The Pro R is more then 72, the Mav R is over 72 as is the Speed. 77-78 is the new standard.
I dont feel this is a fair shootout. Need to compare like vehicles, not vehicles of different sizes, weights, and horsepower.
Please get a 19+ Yamaha yxz , add a ping travel kit and seller turbo and put it up against these ugh dollar rigs and see what you think.
