  • Saw some debates in one of my previous videos about which software artists should use, and some said Procreate isn't good professional work...
I don't think that's the case. Use whatever software you like. It's what you can create with it that really counts! 😉

Not so sure how much I agree there.
As a digital artist, depending on what part of the industry you're working in and on the job requirements, larger businesses kind of do have it in their interest to force artists to use particular software.
For myself, Photshop and illustrator are absolutely industry standard for illustration and nearly always required for the jobs i work on, so its not exactly down to the tools and the discretion of the artist.
There's still many things in photoshop that the other apps don't have, eg some print/colour profiles, layer grouping, smart objects etc etc
I work mainly on books, posters and style guide illustrations for licenced brands, and all of these things are expected to be there in the final files.
Nearly all style guide illustration is done in illustrator too.
For me and my line of work, the only real tools that the artist can choose at the moment are physical tools eg. if you use mac or pc, mouse/tablet etc.
Other than that, on everything I work on it's totally down to the clients compatibility requirements if they have them.
If there's people out there using the other software in a professional level and looking to work with well known brands at least, I would still recommend they learn to how to use adobe illustration software.
There's also a compatibility/editability issue behind it too, in case other artists have to be brought in/use the artwork afterwards, and then the print companies too.
If the client is coming to you as a result of your own particular style etc, then it's more on the artist, but if its about the businesses brand on a style they have created and you're working to, they are the ones paying so you kinda have to go with it 😁

Thank for sharing you experience on the subject 🤔 I guess this could be for in-house artist? I can only think freelance artists would have the choice of their software. I know personally a few artist that only use Procreate to create their illustration and have work for many publishing houses to create book covers, and other projects.

CSP Is actually industry standard especially for animation. The problem I have sometimes with pro create is that the brush engine is different from those PC softwares.
