Great Video, the 757 have the best SOUND EVER!!!
Its Because the B757 Has 2 overpowered RB211's on it (RR) its not the plane that has the best sound its the engines that were put on it :)

Tim Miles RB211 may have one of the coolest sounds..............but they are also (then/now ) the most unreliable(gas guzzling/heavy) and expensive engine to maintain compared to the CF6/JT9D equivalent.
Rolls Royce builds (then/NOW) Engines that always fail on promises.
Boeing probably awarded the RR contract 30 years ago............on a Pity Basis.i.e.Diplomacy........even though a variation of the CF6 would have been a better choice......not to mention 5,000lbs+ weight savings with a P&W or CF6

I flew on this beast twice in a round trip. I tell you, I was facing sideways as I watched and I was pushed so hard back into my seat when the plane hit N1. It was ridiculous. So over powered, I LOVE IT!

I saw one up close and personal at the science museum in London last year. Amazing machine in itself.

Airbus say the 757 is overpowered, but I think it is the most elegant commercial passenger plane and for that reason I wish Boeing had developed the 757 instead of the 737. However, I am sure they knew what they were doing.
Bruh....Boeing owns the 757 and all 7x7 airlines ( x representing whtever number)...airbus owns a3 airlines.

At 7:22 - Simultaneous approach by(another 767?).
Seriously: If this was my first flight in over 50 years(a frequent flyer in 707s & DC-8s), I'd be frightened out of my MIND! LOL The takeoff angle in the 757 would feel like a rocket launch to passengers from the Eisenhower-Kennedy-Beatles era.

Alright, then you identify it! Like cars built since 2000, pax jets are also more homogenized and looking more alike. Only one standout since 2003(when Concorde was retired): Airbus A380 double decker.

How surprising...on takeoff, it sounds just like an Airbus A320! I actually hate that "buzzing" sound, it scares me.

Aahhh... the RB211 "whine" #loveit We have BA to thank for insisting that Boeing install the British made power-plant onto the 757 before they made the decision to purchase it together with its bigger brother, the 767! The application of the RB211 on the 757 resulted in a massively overpowered craft which is why it's able to spool down quicker after its take off run... I've flown on the 757 many a time, I was gutted when it left the BA fleet and with Boeing stating just 2 days ago (interesting read: bit.ly/1730M6v) that they have ruled out re-engining the 757 it won't be long before we see less of this awesome craft in the skies.
None of that is true.

@@thefullsp77 BA didn’t pressure Boeing. The U.K. government, which was the sole owner of RR because the RB211 drained the company by 1971, had planned on launching a competitive engine on all new aircraft. Boeing went to RR, PW, and GE for engines on the 757. BA didn’t purchase the 757 and 767 together, they didn’t want the 767 until Boeing launched the -300ER ten years later. That is when BA pressured Boeing and RR to make a 767 adapted RB211. The 757 is not massively overpowered. It was designed for hot and high performance from the start and has a sophisticated wing. You can get the same performance on a 757 with RR or PW engines. This spool down for climb thrust is not attributed to its “over powered”, it’s just a wide chord fan. Read John Newhouses book The Sporty Game. Also read the 757s performance charts, it’s free on the Boeing website under airport planning and aircraft performance.
