Ubisoft's biggest cash cow is one of the most inconsistent franchises of all time, and it drives me insane. Plus they've also revived and killed Rayman multiple times during their existence. Rayman shouldn't have died for this.

"Over the last nearly 20 years of the Rabbids' existence..."
WHY DO I FEEL SO OLD?
2/10th of a whole century...
Oh jesus it's you
Me: *standing as a skeleton*
I played Rayman 1 on DOS.....
Cause we are bro, we f-ing are
mario + rabbids is honestly the most underrated rpg series and people dismissing it cuz “rabbids cringe lol” despite being REALLY fun games
I mean, Rabbids are cringe.
Just because Mario + Rabbids are both great games doesn't change the fact that, as a whole, they are cringe.
With the right framing, cringe of the right type can make a game fun! Usually only the Rabbids can strike that niche however.
I played Mario plus rabbits
I definitely enjoyed it.
Agreed
I find it insane how the rabbids crossing over with Mario ended up creating one of the most polished and accessible tactical strategy games in recent memory
Dude I cannot explain to you how disappointed I was as a kid getting rabbids go home on the Wii and being absolutely obsessed and begging for travel in time when it came out only to realise it was just a mini game collection.
I’m still waiting for the go home sequel
Same man, that shit broked my heart.
I had a similar experience where my parents got me Rayman Raving Rabbids (and I think they almost got me Rabbids Land?) because I loved Rabbids Go Home so much, only to be disappointed that it wasn’t a similar game at all. I still have no clue why Ubisoft continues their mini game collection schtick during a renaissance of platformers.
Same
I owned both games when I was younger I remember liking travel in time but I’m pretty sure I preferred rabbids go home way more
Pretty sure in amongst the mobile games I saw one titled "Rabbids Go Home Again"... wait, no, it said "Rabbids Go PHONE"... ... ... "again". WAIT AGAIN?
Cool thing about that prototype, it’s being turned into a full fan game called Raving Rabbids Reburrowed which sets out to see what if the game was completed as originally intended.
Thanks for the shoutout. We're working hard on it!
prototype was a rabbids game?

@@ShowinGrowin Do you guys have a showcase channel or something?
Fun Fact:
The Rabbids helped of the creation of Just Dance.
Not lying. The dance minigame in Tv party was the inspiration of the dance with motion controls.
That's why Ubisoft cares about them more then Rayman
One of the trailers for the first Just Dance even had the Rabbids messing around the game's set as the dancer dances to "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer.
32:39 the only time I heard any dude scream that loud
Rabbits go home, my childhood by that I mean shaking the rabbit in the Wii remote that made me laugh so much
I spent hours customising my rabbids on Go Home as a kid, loved that game
“Bātutā din moldova”
Many hours of my time spent on Rabbids Go Home was just abusing the Rabbid in the Wii Remote. Seeing him just fly around like some slapstick character that gets flung down a hill is the funniest thing ever. Also the idea of making it literally INSIDE the Wii Remote and modeling the interior components was really creative
You know that part is actually reminds me of that PS4 "Game", the name of which i forgot, that uses camera addon, but it weren't that fun.
And the customisation element kinda resembles LBP...Oh god.
I remember making countless custom rabbids of fictional characters
I heard the delevoper of mario rabbids said hes planning on creating a new rayman game after they did the Phantom Show DLC.
Quote: "giving him the love he deserves".
...he knows what we fans want.
I did the Phantom Show DLC to 100% completion, but the message you get for doing it doesn't make any sense to me.
If that's true I'm hopeful for what we'll see next for Rayman, he seems to genuinely care about the characters he works with and want to do them justice.
Well, he wants too but ubisoft needs to get the green light from the higher ups
Please give us a new rayman game a 3d one
With the insane design and art style Rayman has in the DLC.
I'm hyped. One of if not the best design I've seen him with.
Fun fact: Usually, Nintendo usually send 3D models of Mario as a reference point for other studios designing him. In Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, the Mario designs were done from scratch at Ubisoft and that was a surprise to Shigeru Miyamoto on how well they did it.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that Sparks of Hope also brought in Yoko Shimomura of Mario & Luigi and Kingdom Hearts fame to help out Grant Kirkhope and Gareth Corker. That makes it that she composed 3 out of 4 of the Mario RPG series. 😊
Rabbids Go home is one of those games that deserves to be a cult classic. Absolutely wonderfully creative title.
A little correction on 18:32
That ain't jazz dude, A Romanian Brass Band named "Fanfare Vagabontu" are the ones responsible for the soundtrack of RGH and imo the music is def one of the best aspects of this game, its so unique and it fits the chaotic nature of the rabbids near perfectly for this game
I should mention that some of the songs featured in RGH like "Bubamara" and "Sanie Cu Zurgalai" are arrangements of classic romanian folk pieces
It was an odd choice but damn it paid off so well in the end, I hope the man responsible for this decision got a raise
Lmao it seems like “jazz” is the de-facto genre these type of videos tend to label the music.
Game is about stealing? Hire a Romanian band
Unironically genius move
You can just say Romanian fyi. G***y is a slur from what I’ve read. I’ve heard the musical genre called Klezmer also, but I don’t know how accurate that one is
@@gavternoon3426 oh I apologize, I didn't know that, I just edited the comment to remove that
I’d like to think the painter Rabbid is the multiversal explanation for _yellow_ painted objects in games today
It pays the bills.
I was just thinking about the yellow paint 😂
Here's my two cents: If the Rabbids had stuck to minor appearances, a couple of side games, and then the Mario crossovers then they wouldn't have been as hated. Especially if Rayman had kept getting games with his crew.
Literally all it takes to make people not hate them is make rayman games
Same with spyro and skylanders
It's not even the fact that they get a lot of screen time, it's the fact that Rayman never had enough
The fact is: Rabbids killed Rayman and then almost killed Mario.
If they just kept making Rabbids Go Home games I think that would be enough for forgiveness
@susans-dead-son
No that’s the headcannon.
Ubisoft put Rayman in a coma then bought him back only to put him in ANOTHER coma.
I am relieved that my positivity for Rabbids Go Home isn't unfounded. I tend to like things that end up being bad (I thought the Shadow the Hedgehog game was the coolest thing ever as a 5 year old), so knowing it's an actual quality game and not garbage like the other Rabbids games (outside of Mario + Rabbids, of course) feels good.
Did you know that they actually made a dedicated Wii Channel for Rabbids Go Home? It was basically the Check Mii Out Channel but with a Rabbids skin
32:39 that scream alone was enough to get the like
That was a Scott the Woz style of video ending XD
Same 😂
This feels like a follow-up to the Rayman video.
Because it is
A damn shame we’re never gonna get a Switch port of Rabbids go Home anytime soon. That was my childhood and I remember turning my Rabbid into a Frog.
I remember I used to always watch videos on that game, and always used to wish I could play it. The switch was my first and only console, but
too bad I will never be able to play rabbids go home, at least i got to play kingdom battle.
Apparently, the same team who were supposed to work on Rayman 4 (aka the Rayman Raving Rabbids prototype), worked on Rabbids Go Home rather than the RRR trilogy. That's probably why the game is so good, they probably thought "well, even if Rayman isn't gonna be in this game, we might as well do something creative and fun with the Rabbids."

13:49 rabbids becoming skibidi toilet before skibidi toilet
They predicted skibidi toilet
I don't know why, but I remember the most hyped I'd ever gotten for a game release as a kid was for _Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party_ of all things. It was to the point where I was drawing little comic advertisements where the Rabbids crossed over with other games, and I was even incorporating into some of the stories I was writing. Just a weird fact about my childhood.
Fun fact: the dancing minigame in the Rabbids games was fleshed out and served as the basis for the Just Dance games. Just Dance is a pseudo-spinoff of Rabbids, which is itself a Rayman spinoff. The more you know
"Insane? I was insane once. They locked me in a room. A rubber room. A rubber room with Rabbids. And Rabbids make me insane."
If there is 1000 Rabbids: Alive and Kicking fans, I am one of them.
If there are 10 Rabbids: Alive and Kicking fans, I am one of them.
If there are no Rabbids: Alive and Kicking fans, I am dead.
I have a lot of nostalgia for the first Raving Rabbids.
I had a recent experience going back and replaying the full game with my sibling.
Some of the stuff I got stuck on as a kid was way easier.
The on rails shooter segments become so much more fun when you figure out how to grab the rabbids. Its literally that holding fat rat meme.
You also get to throw them back at the other rabbids, a very funny idea.
I’ve never been a fan of Rabbids… but when I see an Antdude video covering Rabbids… I can make do.

One of the things I LOVE about go home is its music, its incredibly unique, truly shows the passion the composers puted in the game
Was surprised to see my Rayman 4 Proto video in here lol. Fanstastic video, been watching your stuff for a long time!
13:13 - i guess they were trying to go for 'Edge points', putting a word like Ass into a game otherwise mainly-aimed towards Children...
...but i mean, JackRabbid was Right THERE!
i broke two nunchucks obsessively playing rabbids go home, and i had multiple rabbid little figures that i would get for my birthday and christmas. i adore rayman but the rabbids will always have a place in my childhood
Rabbids walk so minions could run .
I hate how true this is lol
And no one has been able to make them stop
@@EnzoRPereira😂😂
@@EnzoRPereira their legs are unbreakable
Rabbids are a million times better
What pisses me off the most is the fact they got their own show on Nickelodeon, and didn’t even mention Rayman’s existence once in it.
A Rayman show would absolutely slap.
they tried to make a rayman cartoon once but it sucked so bad that it only got 3 episodes
If it's any consolation, David Gasman, the voice of Rayman (and later Rabbid Mario) voiced as several major characters in Rabbids Invasion.
@@deonparson1708No, that's not a consolation. That's a compromise and defeat.
Yep… definitely
It’s just me but I think should add a new season where Rayman appears as this alien that came from another universe like in CLH (Captain Laserhawk)
I was thinking that maybe they could make an episode and they introduce him as a threat but then the rabbids accidentally or intentionally release him and the 2 characters that were driving a car across a desert (Zak and Zoe were their names I think) and they decided to take him in before authorities get to him
But I think it’s also better they stay apart but that’s just me
I played RRR2 on the DS because it happened to be on the r4 I’d recently gotten. For some reason the sound effects that play when you tap a button on the menu play twice; once when you tap the button, once when you let go. The quality truly speaks for itself
And that's a good thing
Shoutout to the weird ass pc port of Rabbids Go home. It only released in certain european countries on disc and it's not really a full port because it has no adventure mode, you just boot a game and get a level select with random levels from the wii version, the levels are in unchronological order and it's also a portion of them compared to the wii version. after you play a level it just boots you back to the level select and it doesn't even save your score or anything. the whole thing is extremely bizzare. I have to assume that they were working on a full pc port but at some point the project got canned and they just kinda quickly released what they had in quiet manner.
The mario and rabbids games honestly are one of my favorite games I've bought.
I genuinely have rabbid brainrott. My fascination with these goofy guys goes wayyy further than you would ever think.

28:36 Rabbid Kong appearing next to Rabbid Peach for that single photo is the best joke in any media containing the Rabbids
I’ve always had a soft-spot for the Rabbids given that I grew up playing Rabbids Go Home and Rabbids Travel in Time even if I get why Rayman fans weren’t too keen on them taking the spotlight.
Edit: Glad to see you enjoyed Rabbids Go Home. I would love to see it remastered in HD even if they’re going to need to put in the work to replace the Wii Mote
It’d be cool if we ever get another Rayman game, they pulled a Kirby’s Adventure and had the Rabbids actually be revealed to trying to do good all along.
Also I’d love for a Mario + Rabbids 3 to have Mario and Rayman meet for the first time. Like there were complaints that Mario and Rayman never got to interact in the DLC for Sparks of Hope.
So why not address those complaints and make it a selling point. Imagine exploring a mashup of Rayman and Mario’s worlds.
Heck imagine a Rabbids game that brought them back to their roots as characters in Rayman’s world and have them go to war against Captain Razorbeard’s forces. Maybe it could be a Rabbids Go Home 2 in all but name by having the Rabbids collecting scrap to help aid in the war against the Robo Pirates
Anthony, with all due respect... Rabbids go Home has traditional romanian gypsy brass music, not jazz 😅. Ubisoft advertised that fact a lot back then lol
One can easily forget how threating the Rabbids once were. I was pretty confused when I played raving Rabbids 2, since my first experience was Raving Rabbids 1 DS.
They didn’t “kill” Rayman. He’s still around.
Finally! I have been waiting for you to talk about Sparks of Hope since it came out 😭😭😭
15:26 This game is like bad piggies before bad piggies….
Bad bunnies if you will.
I love it when someone else is finally willing to give Rabbids Go Home the credit it deserves. Genuinely one of my favorite games
5:50 THEIR FACES LOLOLOL HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE THEM 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I have been researching this topic all day, just out on a whim, only to see that ant Dude has uploaded a video covering the full Series that same day.
Get out of my head Anthony
Thank you
The "Rabbidass" actually got me to laugh out loud 😂
For me the Rabbids will always have a good place in my heart. Love these silly little guys.
Finally i have been waiting to hear your thoughts thoughts on the rabbids.
Was not expecting that Captain laserhawk clip
wasn't expecting there was an watch dogs movie after legion was a biggest dissapointment sequel courtesy of ubisoft
That shot from Captain Laserhawk is one hell of a flashbang, what the hell
Rabbids Go Home (wii) is still one of the most underrated games ever in my eyes.
Always get happy to see people genuinely like it.
I don't know about you but I really would love a Mario + Rabbids series despite a bit of poor sales on the 2nd game. Sparks of Hope became like my Top 5 favorite RPGs of all time. People should really give that series a chance besides how outlandish it sounds. Mario with guns working with those annoying rabbits wouldn't feel like a fun game, but it really became my favorite among all the Switch games I own
Glad to see rabbids go home getting the respect it deserves.
I am so incredibly happy that you were a fan of RGH, it’s genuinely one of my favorite Wii games ever
The Rabbids are loud and obnoxious gremlins. And THAT'S why I LOVE them! Especially now that some of them have personality and character thanks to the Mario + Rabbids games!
Happy new year broooo
30:24 sounds like a reference to the Ted tv show
Antdude screaming at the end was surprisingly unsettling…
Crash also captures the feeling of "We're Back!" "It's Over..." "Oh, We Are SO Back!"
and Spyro as well.
Love the vids antdude!
Not gonna lie, that caprisun bit around 17:10 had me cackling XD perfect sound usage, perfect take XD

So far I enjoy both mario + rabbids games. Edge being my favorite character .It was so much fun playing through them.I just need to get the dlcs
the rhythm game on rayman raving rabbids tv party on Wii with the instruments made my childhood
I remember having so much fun with rayman raving rabbids 2 as a kid
Haven't heard him scream like that since Caddicarus reached 1 million subscribers.
with that ending, i'm glad
but with your earlier comment
now I want to see an AntDude video on Skylanders
YOU ARE SO REAL FOR THIS. THANK YOU.
I think I'd tolerate the Rabbids a bit more if they looked like they did in the Go Home cutsenes. They're actually kinda cute there. Vanilla Rabbids are raw overused potato sacks.
Mmm potatoes.
Idea for the Rabbids franchise: No minigame collection
hey man I am new on your channel, and I love your vids, specially the banjo kazooie and tooie videos. I wish you woud make a video to Donkeykong 64 because i love this game soooo much for me it is one of the moste underratet games ever. Love you bro, you make an amizing job
I think The Phantom said it best when he said "A flash in the pan, second fiddle to the rabbids, RAYMAN!"
Hearing Anthony gush about the Rabbids series for even a minute is something I never thought I see.

You know what, I'm glad you made this Rabids Go Home video with extra steps because both the DS and the Wii version looks really fun and I would not have known otherwise because before Mario & Rabids Kingdom Battle (or whatever it is called) I avoided those little screaming fuckers like the plague
3:45 Bro, I was looking for this early development game all my childhood, I would find screenshots thinking it's the Rayman 4 or something, but it always was Rayman Raving Rabbids, freaking finally, my search is over
My first exposure to Rayman was through the DS version of Rayman raving Rabbids TV Party. Thank you for awakening my PTSD.
Rabbids build my childhood and seing them doing a collab with mario was a dream.Sparks of hope was the reason i bought my switch before i knew about kirby, smash and the other mario games
I honestly got so over my rabid hatred of Rabbids when that Rayman 4 prototype leaked, I finally came to understand that the game it was going to turn out to be was not in a million years going to be what I wanted out of another Rayman release. If things hadn't gone the way they did, we may never have gotten Origins and Legends in its stead. I'm kind of happy about it, looking back -- and Rayman's not dead yet. As long as he keeps popping up here and there, that spark of hope™ for a new game will always linger...
also rabbid peach is h--
I remember as a kid i had a nightmare that these little fucks were chasing me and ever since i was scared/hated them.
I think the first time i’ve encountered them was on capri sun boxes/pouches
The video about human culture in the beginning of Raving Rabbids 2 always reminded me of the Arceus intro to the Sinjho Ruins from Pokemon
I said I would never click on a rabbids video. You're lucky I really like your content, Ant.
rabbids go home is one of my favorite games as a kid!! i never got the rabbids hatred because that was my first introduction to rabbids!!
FINALLY!!! Someone talked about this
I really hate how the Rabbids took over it all and threw away Rayman in the shadows
Great video, but I personally feel like you undersold the GBA version of the first Rayman Raving Rabbids game. Its honestly a really good on-the-go platformer!
We going home with this one 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I want to see Antdude talk about the "Ty the Tasmanian Tiger" series and the "Skylanders" series.
4:03 oh my gosh. That explains Rayman Legends. It's a 1 million lum easter egg!
Comparing Skylanders to this is a crime, it’s like he didn’t even play Skylanders…
I haven't played Go Home in years and was wondering if it still holds up, its good to know it does!
I used to have Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 and it was one of my favorite games for awhile. I'd still play it today if I freed up some space
Woah, I remember reading about Ray Man 4 in Nintendo Power!!! Wild it never got made.
I had no idea that Rayman was in Sparks of Hope. That so cool, I love seeing him animated so well!
