A Christmas Night (and Light) Odyssey!

- An offering to all my viewers-a night drive to some familiar points, with light displays along the way. Bit first...gotta get out of the backups...
Really an impromptu ride to see how much I could capture in what time I had...especially after traffic. Did best I could here, as it's been a while since I did anything resembling a night odyssey! We do make it to Port Deposit, Holly Tree Park, Perryville and other points, stopping along the way to contemplate a very impressive and colorful display!
The Drive:
00:00 Odyssey of Sorts
00:53 Backups of Sorts
03:59 US 1/Frogtown
07:19 Port Deposit MD

A BIG shout-out to all who have supported us over the years! Here's hoping we all stay healthy during these trying times, so we may continue pursuing our happiness-whatever that might be. All the best for the New Year from Gus and Dolly!

Very cool night odyssey brother! You passed by my pad, should have stopped by. We missed each other by two nights at Holly Tree Park. I was there filming Monday night. You made your rounds and saw lots of Christmas lights and decorations. As always, great work! ✌
Thanx, bro! As you saw, all those backups robbed us of a lot of time! Never had that on Harford Rd before! Only could touch on the 'basics' really. Hoped to make the Gingerbread Village but we couldn't. Dolly and I have been attending Holly Tree festivities since 2016 and thus and so many 'locals' got to know us, and of course me with the vid production. That tree lighting is normally a BIG event! Hope you get to see it one day!
P.S. Caught many a train there myself...during visits throughout the year! Even during festivities! If you'd like-I can help you with Railfanning 101! No problem!
Hi there, I guess things may not be great right now. I love watching your films so watched this again this 2022 Christmas time. Anyway whatever your circumstances I hope 2023 can be a good year for you both x
Thank You very much! Yep-2022 was a rough year for sure! Had lots of business to take care of, and between that-and a bit of a decline in my physical condition, capped off by a life-changing slip-and-fall just before Thanksgiving-yeah, glad it's over! Got all business taken care of but that bad fall I took left me in really bad pain to this day, but I hope to get back active again when I can. I appreciate your support-really! Till I can get back out again doing remastering on some previous vids...big improvement over the originals! My YT100 is a good example.
Here's wishing you a great 2023 from me and Dolly! Hope you'll stay with us! 👌👍✌
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Glad to see you back in action. Stay warm! It has been in the low 80's here in Hollywood ,Fla.
Much appreciated, Donald! Wishing you and yours a Happy and Healthy New Year too! BTW I'm very familiar with Florida in December! Had relatives in Vero Brach and would vacation there during Christmas holidays till about Jan 2. Yep-it was warm! Went to the beach on one New Year's Day in the early 70s...and girls in swimsuits! Definitely remember that! Still have kin there, so I'll have to get down there again.
Enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights! Thanks for the tour! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank You very much, Jean! Hope your Christmas was great and you have a safe and happy 2022! From Gus and Dolly.

@@bullfrog1954 I hope to meet you again somewhere out on the rails
Hey-you never know! There are times I do cross paths with viewers! I think it's great!
Merry Christmas bullfrog!
You too! Also hoping your New Year is a great-and healthy-one! Your support is appreciated!
My brother took me to see the display near Kingsville when I was visiting at Christmas. The 4 faces were singing the Chipmunk song. We tuned into the radio station to hear the 4 faces better. He parked in the little park driveway across the street.
Those four faces actually sing, and there's actually a radio station that carries the audio from them? Never knew that! You don't happen to remember what station, do you? I'd like to look into that!
@@bullfrog1954 it was something in the 80 point something. I believe it was AM. My brother drove down the road. Once away from the house it was out of range. I took pictures. If we're lucky, I might have the sign with the radio station on it.
Thank You for the info! Much appreciated! The way you describe it leads me to believe it's just a low-power "broadcast (actually more like a 'narrowcast')," only there just to enhance the displays, and thus and so can't be received beyond a certain distance-and won't interfere with commercial broadcasts. I'm familiar with radio; just never heard of it used for displays like this! Wish I knew; I too parked in that park driveway across the street and set my tripod up. I'll keep this in mind for next Christmas! Thanx again!
@@bullfrog1954 I guess you have to wait until next Christmas to see if they do this type of broadcast again.
Might be worth it!
Great seeing you again. Hope you and Dolly have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of prosperity and good health.
Hello, Lynn! Great hearing from you too! Dolly and I would like to extend the same to you and yours too! Wishing you a great and healthy 2022-and Thank You for your support over the years!
Coming up Harford Rd. just before 152 on the right side, I guess it wasn't lit?
I know where you mean but I haven't seen any display worth noting in years now! I remember when they still went all out, though. Looked really nice.
