Personally, I just pull the pallet to the middle of the aisle and walk back and forth. The time spent walking back, i'm breaking down the cardboard and putting it on the cart. I like to keep my aisle clean as possible with minimum obstacles on the floor. There isn't really a wrong method, unless of course the person is failing to reach time limits constantly. So whatever works best for each person seems good enough. Your advice about the work environment and communicating and helping others is spot on. I finish early quite often and get sent to another aisle to help someone else and I have no issue with it. My coworkers usually apologize for me being sent to them but I see no issue with it. I'm paid by the hour, not the aisle. I do what is asked of me, don't complain, and leave. I've had no negative feedback or coaching. Plus, if I do have a day where i'm a little behind, the people being sent to me are going to be less resentful and actually want to help me finish and lessen my burden because I do it just as often for them. While we do a lot of working alone, there is still a lot of team effort involved, so it's best to communicate, be helpful, respectful, and reliable. While it may seem like nothing, staying those extra 9 minutes to help a coworker bin overstock so he or she can leave on time doesn't go unnoticed. We have great team leads where I work which I understand can make or break someone's experience at Walmart. The only people that really get fired is either due to points from days missed or because they are negative minded and can't work well with others, and if you're like that, they are going to make your job as miserable as possible until you're terminated or quit. So it's basically keep a positive outlook and do what is asked, or you're not going to be employed there very long. The longer you work there, the more often you're rewarded with easier tasks like top steal which can eat up an hour of your time before the shift ends.

Well i can tell you if u worked for me..we would have a talk. To much time wasted. Way to long. Stocking needs to be way faster, specially for those soap aisles.. i seen you handle the same case 4 to 6 times. You do have alot of good points. But still alot of improvement needed. I have been doing this for 18yrs and a manager for 16. I like the video and the tips. Great job. Just try and work on speed and location of spotting items out. Keep it up.
it means to stock and then "condition and face" the product. The label must be facing towards you. Which is the "front" of the item. Conditioned means either to turn it so it is "faced" or to front it so that it is flush with the shelf. I.E, a standard stock controller/team lead will say the item must cover the holes of the shelf. But a really good stock controller or manager will want you to have the item to the edge completely flush. for A+rating "zoning and conditioning" of the aisle.
Stock and block and pull riser the first 2 sections in that order not only that look with your eyes not your head if you can't find the item just skip it and find it later like example it's like skipping a test question but coming back to it later when you "find" out the answer or in this case find where the items goes also don't beat yourself up by not finding it if your new it take 3 month to know the layout of the store and then you will be faster knowing were some of the product go just try to simplify it so you can remember the general area helps out
There is also fast way breaking boxing efficiently with your hand and box quitter hard to explain but it would be easy to show If you have ig you can message me and I will demonstrate it @nathan_akaz
@kevinthomas6924 they will tell you you need to pick up the speed, but they will also tell you to do the heb method. If you still are slow even using their method then they will tell you to pick up the pace and rush you but if you keep showing you're not interested then they will warn you multiple times if that doesn't work they may let you go possibly but that last resort but as long you show you are there to work you will be fin

How do regular grocery stores work in terms of inventory? For us, we have a Front of House (FOH) and a Back of House (BOH). Let's say 24 units come in, and 12 fit in the lane (1 home). We then destock 12 units to a BOH bin, like D.100.RACK10.C01. On the handheld device, we have a replenishment tool that guides us in the store on where to go and restock the items. I assume for you guys, you guys get exactly what they need for the most part, and if any overstock is left, they just put it on pallets and general storage carts. The overstock will get stocked throughout the day. Is that correct?
You don’t need to remember. You match the last 4 digits of the UPC (barcode you scan to buy the item) with the UPC on the shelf and that’s where it goes. Eventually you will get a handle on where everything goes but it’s not a huge deal. Been at Walmart for 2 years and still don’t know exactly where everything goes.

My back hurts watching this
i start working monday for the very first time during thanksgiving week , any other tips anyone can share ?
Holidays are going to be hecked ok so don't stress about it just get a pod cast listen to them or have music or creepypasta scary stories while you work Whatever you like just make sure you have a pair of headphones
@@AKassassinzthanks and can you elaborate on straight stock/stack and block ? any tips to perfect it
Like when you stock that section, you start blocking it right away.
straight stocking is when you only stock you don't block you'll block later, but you're stuck that entire aisle of that section.
@@AKassassinz got it , thank you for the tips
Easy bro I’m over night frozen stocker
What kind of kneepads are you wearing and where'd you buy them at?
Heb should provide them as ppe
@@Jay5hundo yep. Indeed. And a cutter. And a brace. Its policy. Also you have to get new blades every time. I dont bother because I kept losing so many cutters that even the Night coverage officer got pissed when I kept asking for a new one.
I’m about to become one at heb is it more easier to use your kneepads and toolbelt or do I need any of those?
Got an overnight interview at HEB in a few days, here's hoping!
how did it go?
Wage?
Same but I have a interview at Walmart instead for overnight stocker

What does blocking mean
can i ask what "stock and block" means? applied for overnight at two grocery stores so just trying to understand.
it's when you stock the item and then you start blocking it like you start, have yet to clean up the shelf like let's say you have a shelf and I stalk all of your groceries by make it nice and neat. That's what blocking is pulling all the items up forward, so all the customers can see, but you do at the same time stock and blocked
My job calls it facing.
thank u for the tip am soon i’ll get this overnight job
Hey bro hope u could reply to my comment, I had just recently applied for overnight stocker at my heb and I got a in person interview and it went well, but this morning I got email saying I wasn’t selected, should I apply again or do u think they just don’t want me ?
Apply again it shows that you want the job
What happened
Did they start u part time then do you have a chance at full time?
You start at part time over the course if you do really well they will ask you to be part time
That's me with breaks I don't need them
Are there people that bring their speakers with them to work over there?
Yes sometimes
One question. Whats stock and block?
@ClemenDawg stocking= stocking the items to the shelf and blocking= blocking said items like pulling them 2 items up front of the edge to the shelfs top to bottom the whole aisle and pulling= is pulling the riser of the very top where we keep our back stock and pulling them down to see if they go out or not
@AKassassinz ooooh. So is blocking the same as zoning? That's what we call it
@ClemenDawg yes
How many boxes can you do per hour?
What are your hours? If you don’t mind me asking?
sounds like it's 10pm-6am
Good day , im filipino from the Philippines and im a merchanders for a long yrs. pls help me to apply for this kind of job , i need to support my family 😥
Im calling tomorrow to ask to work in overnight stocker at walmart what should i say to the manger .i really need this job
What do you do if you stocked the shelf fully but still there some of the same item on the floor not stocked? Do you have to stock everything and not return anything to the backroom?
Depends on the company. We put whatever is leftover on the overhead, like this dude is doing here.
@@louiehernandez1477like on top of the shelf or on top of the product just placed
Do the hardest isles cause the one ur doin is super easy 😂 but good tips tho 💯

Well i can tell you if u worked for me..we would have a talk. To much time wasted. Way to long. Stocking needs to be way faster, specially for those soap aisles.. i seen you handle the same case 4 to 6 times. You do have alot of good points. But still alot of improvement needed. I have been doing this for 18yrs and a manager for 16. I like the video and the tips. Great job. Just try and work on speed and location of spotting items out. Keep it up.
exactly
Its pieces of crap like you us why i no longer do this kind of work, hes doing a great job
You only get 6 hours of sleep?
yeah that my minimum requirements at least the first 3hours you body at rest the next it recovers cycle🔃 start all over so it depends on you
Shiii i worked overnight stockers at lowes and one time only had 2hrs of sleep. Since the last shift
Stock to the back, quality over quantity (case count) but still try to throw decent numbers. spot nice and neat.
Did you ever do dairy how was that ?
What the hell does block mean on the phrase stock and block
it means to stock and then "condition and face" the product. The label must be facing towards you. Which is the "front" of the item. Conditioned means either to turn it so it is "faced" or to front it so that it is flush with the shelf. I.E, a standard stock controller/team lead will say the item must cover the holes of the shelf. But a really good stock controller or manager will want you to have the item to the edge completely flush. for A+rating "zoning and conditioning" of the aisle.
that’s a ridiculous way to stock - picking up case 2 or 3 times then throwing empty boxes on floor - so inefficient
How do i go faster in one hour?
Stock and block and pull riser the first 2 sections in that order not only that look with your eyes not your head if you can't find the item just skip it and find it later like example it's like skipping a test question but coming back to it later when you "find" out the answer or in this case find where the items goes also don't beat yourself up by not finding it if your new it take 3 month to know the layout of the store and then you will be faster knowing were some of the product go just try to simplify it so you can remember the general area helps out
There is also fast way breaking boxing efficiently with your hand and box quitter hard to explain but it would be easy to show
If you have ig you can message me and I will demonstrate it @nathan_akaz
What happens if you get don't move fast but you get the job done
@kevinthomas6924 they will tell you you need to pick up the speed, but they will also tell you to do the heb method. If you still are slow even using their method then they will tell you to pick up the pace and rush you but if you keep showing you're not interested then they will warn you multiple times if that doesn't work they may let you go possibly but that last resort but as long you show you are there to work you will be fin
@@AKassassinz okay thanks I just got hired for Walmart overnight stock
@kevinthomas6924 ooo you don't have to worry about that , just do the task time and you're good when it comes to Walmart
@kevinthomas6924 my wife works at Walmart overnight stocking this is info what she said
@@AKassassinz I guess cuz the supervisors I got are two assholes and I just started they already gave me the wrong impression everybody told me to look out for them can I see why
Nice channel banner 😏
Big mess in the isle, you should be breaking down boxes as you go. How could anyone possibly make it to anything they need ??
overnight btw😅
You don’t break down the super strong boxes of jugs. They’re a waste of time. You break down boxes as you go but those boxes get stacked on a pallet and taken straight to the compactor by a pallet jack.
Look at the title of the video. Overnight stocking, they are most likely closed.
overnight - no one is trying to get in this aisle right now
@@lightsout176 I actually do break down those boxes. I do it by standing the box on its smallest face and stomping down the center, then doing the same to the other side. it's because I work a day shift and we need to keep our shit in order, and it also allows me to shove all of my trash in the baler in one cycle
Thanks for tips it helps
17:50 bro gave up💀💀💀
its not an easy job. Like at all. Lmao
no hate but your slow af💀 You’re doing double the work opening boxes just to set them aside after.
yep. Blows my mind with the 90cph claim. More like 60cph or 45 at times. Ive read the excel spreadsheets of this particular location. Its pure nonsense.
Friends and family ha oof I got like 2 friends and one of them is my coworkers🤣and family eh not so big on my family kinda the black sheep but Ong this job is for introverts and also great for people with tourette's as long as someone else is there to do the glass🤣

The most part yes but we put our overstock on the riser we pull rise stock block then whatever can't be stock on the riser and repeat
Ima a night stocker at heb. Could i work overtime like 4 or 5 hours a week over?
Depends have to ask your stock controler
Hello how long did it take for you to remember where everything goes exactly?
You don’t need to remember. You match the last 4 digits of the UPC (barcode you scan to buy the item) with the UPC on the shelf and that’s where it goes. Eventually you will get a handle on where everything goes but it’s not a huge deal. Been at Walmart for 2 years and still don’t know exactly where everything goes.
