Man, that musta been a garage princess! Thats unreal condition, esp considering where you live. The interior condition is remarkable for being original.
I thought the same! That's why I pounced on it. It was originally in Windsor Ontario near where it was built, so I think maybe it avoided the sea salty air for a long time.
I can't believe how minty fresh this car is. The vinyl top is a miracle, the interior pristine. I've had an 88 Cadillac for 10 years now. She looks pretty rough and lots of stuff is non operational, but I'll be damned if shes not the best car I've ever had.
I have a similar car I bought in January of 2022. Mine is also a 1989 but in addition to being a LS model it is one of only 250 built as a 50th Anniversary model with gold anodized exterior trim and full canvas ( Carriage ) roof. It only had 67,000.0 miles on it when I bought it and I am the second owner. It is painted a dark shadow blue metallic with dark blue crushed velour interior. The car is in excellent shape and runs as good as it looks. I have taken it on several long trips and have gotten over 24 miles per gallon. My other two cars are Crown Victoria wagons a 1991 and a 1987 both of which are great cars but do not give as comfortable a ride as the Mercury.
I have a 1989 mercury colony park station wagon that I have, enter it on car shows and won ,I've got so many people that remember those cars it has the 3rd row seats in it I love it!!!!
Having previously only seen pictures of your Mercury Grand Marquis all I can say is what a set of wheels. It certainly has a presence that modern cars don’t seem to have these days, and that interior looked superb. Smiled when you mentioned ‘swear word quota’ during the tour of the behemoth of an engine, which must sound fantastic by the way, as having worked on cars myself I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for this tour of one amazing classic car, any plans to feature it in future video? Have a great weekend. 🙂👍
Thanks Rich! Yeah the new exhaust makes the whole thing sound nice too, just got that put on today. Definitely plan to have and ASMR Driving video with it!
I had 2 Grand Marquis & 1 crown Victoria. They considered the Grand Marquis the poor man Lincoln lol. They were the best cars I've ever owned in my life and I never had any problems with them other than regular maintenance. Seeing this video brings back good memories of having them. I'd love to get another one someday & I'd rather have it over anything on the road today. I call today's cars ipads on wheels and they are all garbage 😂.
Thank you! I had to Google map St Thomas to see where it was,but it was all demolished after the last GM rolled off the line in 2011 as I understand it.
Yeah, this is a Canadian model, but awesome classic Panther! Looks like an LS. Nothing beats the original generation! I once had an LTD Crown Victoria LX of the same year, but the Grand Marquis is still a bit more on the luxury side while being built the same.
You know I already love this motor via Discord. But my god she's a beauty Muzz. Have you named her yet? Call me basic but a man with a nice car is... Defo agree on getting the professionals to do the exhaust, let someone else deal with it haha. Looking forward to any nighttime ASMR rides in such a car if you're planning on it, with the exterior and interior lights it could be especially comfy. I'm very jealous. Big up Ken too.
The plastic cable in the antenna will be broken. They get brittle over time and just snap. I know on Toyota you just get a new antenna rod and cable. Pretty easy to change.
Omg I had to Google that, now that I know what a slab is, I'm probably not going to do that to my car haha. But I may or may not have some cheesy led lights that you will see in the near future
Seeing this reminded me of my dads old car that also had a middle seat in the front between the driver and the passenger loooollll Quick question tho, what that new old car smell like?
!!! Dude. This car stank when I got it. Smoke, weed smoke the lot. But after some cleaning and lots of airing out alongwith dryer sheets, incense and microban, I'm happy to say it smells great now. It just doesn't really smell of anything I guess...
Yeah I almost forgot about it to be honest. Thankfully it was only a year or so of smoke by the previous owner, I think generally it's been fine. So it was nothing too deep rooted
Ooooo very nice our Muzz! Yes I must admit ai got tingles with the door handle too. I've never noticed it before but in the video I got tingles.
Thanks Jodie! Going to have to make more ASMR with this car!
@@ASMRMuzz It's honestly a lovely car I love the older cars
Same here! I only ever saw cars like this in the movies, so I'm delighted to finally have my own! 😆❤️
@@ASMRMuzz my Grandad used to own an old car. I'd watch him work on it most weekends ☺️
That's lovely. I'm hoping my kids will remember watching me working on this, although they will also recall the excessive swearing at certain times.

"Just like driving a couch..." I think that sums it up perfectly. I'd get ASMR just from sitting in it. Beautiful car.
Yeah the soft fabric of the seats alone will be worth a whole ASMR video!
The chrome, the white walls, the wood paneling...😍 A beauty inside and out. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks buddy!!
Oh my she is a beauty. I have a 1962 GT Hawk myself but I highly enjoy the tour ❤ The woodgrain is absolutely stunning and such beautiful chrome
Oh thank you! I'm going to Google your car right now

I love it too, although I only ever saw cars like this in the movies!
Great Tour Muzz!! “Driving a couch…”🤣🤣. Thanks for the shoutout at the end, you squared it away like an old pro mechanic!!
Thanks brother and thanks again for all your assistance!

That car looks so nice and classy!
nice car , really love these oldschool - sqaure looking cars, way way better than roundish modern crap
Hell yes! Nice to see others who appreciate the design and era!
That was a brilliant vid - would love to see an update / discussion of any trips you’ve had in it

Ha, I thought I was in GTA 5 at the start of this video. Loved this! So cool to see the ins and outs of that pimp ride! 😄

Those cars do have some charm don't they! You ain't old! 😎

Nice car, i like the color. Btw the headlights grew on me by the end of the vid lol
Glad you liked it! I've sinced changed the lights and will include em in a future video

Thanks bro! Yeah it's in a pretty tricky location to access. I'll figure it out and look for the cable!
Wow, Muzz! She's pretty. Congratulations! I like your '89 much better than my Mom's 2005.
Thanks pal! Yeah the 80's ones have that awesome boxy design that I appreciate. The 05s are nice too much more curvy
Wow! Nice ride.
Thanks pal!
Hi Muzz make sure the mechanic checks the TV cable for the transmission there's a bushing that goes bad and could cook the tranny.
Good to know! I've already been to the mechanic, but that's something I'll have a look at doing for the next visit. Thx
Now that's a shaggin wagon.
Suspension replaced. Ready for action
How long you had this vehicle and had you drove out of state lately
Had it for two months. I'm in Canada, we don't have states. :-)
