I love seeing people say that his accent is terrible, when Gambit is in fact, not french, but cajun, which is the weirdest sub-language with french ever.
It's the people complaining about his "offensive" accent that are actually the racists here. Channing Tatums dad talks exactly like that. He's just playing his favorite marvel character while imitating his father's accent and people are hating him for it. It's kinda hilarious. 😂
Other people who saw the movie that I talked to said they hated how he talked. Idk man. For some reason I freaking love it even though I definitely couldn’t understand him sometimes. After watching clips of him a few times, I now understand most of what he’s saying. There’s something so satisfying about his accent lol.
"Maybe I was born here. It's hard to know for sure. " "...or never learned about us." "You know how long I've been waiting for this? Woo, I'm about to make a name for myself." These are the meta dialogue about how the character (maybe the actor) was promised a movie, but never got it.
As a Cajun from South Central Louisiana, this is pretty damn good. He used couyon and chere(sha) right. And he threw in laissez bon temps rouler (let the good times roll)! Not bad. If he said baw that would have been perfect. We speak Cajun/Creole French or broken French.
Bro killed the theater with the first line and kept going 🤣 "Yeah he was landing them buttery nuts all up in my mama and i shot up there like what's up doc?"

Watching people get mad at this is like watching people get mad at how Taika Waititi used the Auckland Māori accent for Korg. Anyone from the local finds it fantastic and funny, and anyone not from that part of the world has no idea what’s being said. Brilliance.
@@ashlingemberstone3913 you know people - they get mad at everything. It’s a deeply unusual take, and rather uncommon to come across, but the amount of people who don’t do their research before crying wolf is something I choose to see as amusing. We’d live a life of disappointment otherwise heheh
I used to watch a show called Swamp People, which is about irl gator hunters in the bayous of the Deep South in America. There were a few cajuns on the show, but there was one guy in particular (whose name escapes me) who had this same accent but even THICKER somehow. They had subtitles on the show just for him, lol.

lol it’s more fun when you have a character speak a dialect that no one understands but only the character knows what he’s saying lol

Now, I want a whole Gambit movie just to hear the man speak that Cajun. Channing Tatum KILLED DAT!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
lol it’s hilarious that the guy who plays gambit actually has a shaved head so just needed to put that cowl on with the hair and vola he’s gambit!!!

Who’s your dialect coach, the minions?
Channing Tatyum is Gambit
This comment deserves more thumbs up.
I love how he speaks it touches parts of my brain I ain’t know existed🗿💅

i'm so out of touch with x-men stuff that I had no idea gambit was french😭😭😭

He’s Cajun
His Cajun actually. Somehow Channing Tatum put a lot of french more in there

He isn’t french, he’s a Cajun… you can hear that a lot coming from Wolverine as a nickname to Gambit because that’s what he is

They do a bit when he uses his powers.
They do in a scene that shows Gambit survived
They do....
I actually understood most of what he said.
Which for me is quite an accomplishment...😊
