Admit it, it's a versatile, reliable vehicle.
And a solid tank.
+ You'll never complain about no room or cup holders.
This blinking red square. Almost take my Tv back to Costco.
I’ve got a 2000 excursion with the 7.3, only 40k miles, everywhere I go, people are constantly asking me to sell/trade in...never getting rid of it
Never selling mine either
Whats that flashing red square?
Your no Doug Demureo but you need to do more car reviews this was the best review of a car I was laughing my ass off the entire time!!
I hope that Ford brings the Excursion back since they are bringing back older models and building trucks and SUV’s only. I think a completely truck based suv is the perfect competition to other car makers. Great Truck 👍
I hope so. They will compete again with GM's Yukon and Suburbans
The Excursion has a 44 gallon tank. I have the 6.0 diesel and get about 700 miles out of a tank (HIGHWAY)!
Nice Excursion man! 😎
Good morning from The Woodlands, TX!!
Love the Excursion!! Red & black are my favorite colors.... And it looks amazing on that Excursion.
Stay well brother!
My mother has a 2001 Excursion with the 7.3 in it. My whole family loves it!
The rear vent windows are used for getting all the gas station food fart smells out. Open them up and roll down the front windows. Pretty efficient.
One of my friends parents had a 2001 excursion and I loved riding in it
I liked this car very much because a large family can sit comfortably in it, 10 seats can be enjoyed in India....
I'm a fan of the V10 310 hp 425 lb-ft torque. I had a 02 XLT and that truck would pull anything you put behind it.
2021 people ? happy to know that youre still alive😊
Thank you for taking the time for everything for this video. No complaints. I bought your kit. And all the extras for the kit (11-15) appreciate it
Great looking Excursion! I am still trying to find one with the 7.3
My grandpa's sister and her husband has one and I rode in it when I was 12 im now 30. These things are the best SUVs ever made.
Thanks for the tour of your new truck. Congratulations!
Awesome excursion! I got a 2002 excursion 7.3 myself! The KING of SUVs!
This car was made for you in size and definitely color. Cheers n stay safe
So a few things from a fellow 7.3 X owner:
1) It has a 44 gallon tank. Better fill it now while fuel is cheap.....
2) The mpg reading on the overhead screen is never accurate. It's amazing that it even works.
3) The 6.0 can be a good motor if you spend the $6k to 'bulletproof' it.
Just filled it up!!!
@Eugene Coursey we have a,2001, with a V10! TRITON. POWERFUL.
Looks like you have a lense problem Bob there are some flashing pixels.
My wife is the primary driver on our excursion.. she loves it.7.3 with 6" lift
It's a company down south takes a f250 or 350 and weld it to the excursion rear end. The company's called CABT OUT OF OKLAHOMA
What's with the flashing trousers...?😉 04:00
I thought his pants had flashing LED's on them. :)
Bob looks so small standing by all these massive vehicles like this and the Phantom lol. At least he fits inside them well!
You definitely have a win with this Ford!
The 7.3 will benefit tremendously with a GEAR VENDER over under drive when towing heavy trailers . RPMs are lowered by 750 rpm s
When engaged saving lots of money $ on fuel ,watching the RPM gauge at 3000+ for hours is nerve racking and noisy AS FU cruising ( no trailer ) at 75 MPH the RPM s will be around 1200 . Save a lot of fuel
Ware and tare and less noise they bolt on to the back of your transmission and the drive shaft will need to be shortened and rebalanced .
Don't forget to install a Alloy steel forward control drum when rebuilding the transmission, I had it done 3 times and it was the stock ford control drum that failed each time , ask anyone that has this , its the best 3000$ ever spent for the serious towing enthusiast . It's all about comfort and pice of mind.
I have an 03 6.0 powerstroke excursion I have 180000 miles truck still runs like when I left the dealership never had issues
I have a 1850 10.0 powerstrong excursion that has 1.6 million miles and it drives like when it was not assembled yet.
love your video your funny and thanks for the info on the BOLT hitch pin i have been a subscriber for 2 months great stuff
I have an Excursion it has a 6.8 v10 and I drove my uncle's 7.3 power stroke I wanted to do and engine swap. Sweet Excursion
I love my '05 ford expedition. Wish I had the mighty sheer power of the excursion but I love older ford SUVs!!
Nice truck! I've always wanted an Expedition or Excursion. Place I used to work 20 years ago had an Expedition we used for hauling and delivery work. Got to drive it cross country and it was just fantastic. Best road trip vehicle ever. The only downside was the fuel use. But I still want one!
That excursion is gorgeous Bob, yes the taillights are the same as the econoline vans. I worked at a ford dealership when these first came out and got to do the pre delivery inspection on the first excursion on our lot and thought it was the coolest thing as i already was in love with the super duty's. I have an early 99 F-250 Super Duty with the 7.3 ltr in it. Its in a bit of a project state as of right now, but can't wait to get it back on the road. It has sat since 2016 so its needs some attention. I absolutely love the paint combo. I used to be a volunteer fire fighter and the company i was a member at had there trucks painted black over red like that. Just love that color combo. Enjoy it Bob. And as for the windshield, heres a good new change for there jingle, "Safelite Disgrace, Safelite don't care!"
Maybe now that gas has gotten expensive you can get them for less but those are 50,000-100,000 for good models. You got a SMOKEN hot deal. I’ll buy it today for 30,000. Not kidding. I live in the Dallas area.
Enjoy your new truck Bob.
Awesome deal for the price. Front end alone is 8k in mods alone
Great video Bob, the truck is very "You"! Pity you weren't in Edinburgh longer back in February, would have loved to have met you, maybe next time. To you and yours, stay safe.
Yup! I love them so much, I have two! Hahaha!!! Beautiful rig! Great buy!
Great looking SUV 👌
I love this truck it’s a beast
Bob with the came like this package excursion. I love it!
Proud owner of one of these and love it more than my Cayenne Turbo and GL
do you have have a glitch in the camera you were using that caused the flashing red spot ? , things are just bigger in Texas
I was waiting for someone to pick that up. I was beginning to think it was my screen playing up, then noticed it came and went and came back as he edited the video.
It's just part of the camera autofocus.
Bruh this truck is dope! Great job Bob 🙌🏾🔥
I've seen one in early 2018 it was a six door power stroke it was so good looking
We have one .We will never sale it. IT'S BUILT TO LAST.👍👍👍👍👍
I have one. They are great for long trips if you have to carry a lot of stuff.
How are they on fuel ?
Very nice excursion looks amazing
Sick looks brand new from inside
I got 550+ miles per tank going from miami to north carolina
going the speed limit... so going on the right most lane
all 7.3 of it just powerstrocking away.. 💯👌😂
Have a nice driving..regards from Athens Greece!
Love your new truck bob you got to do a oil change video on it soon!
Great looking truck. Of course Red and black. 😍😍
Ford Excursion is the best SUV ever made and better will be only new Excursion. I hope Ford will produce new Excursions. Anyway, this old Excursions are still way stronger and much durable, than Expedition L, Expedition MAX or new Suburban/Yukon XL. Excursion is the best SUV for towing and it has the roomiest interior and the largest cargo space. So, Excursion is the King in Full-Size SUV segment. Better than any new or used full-size SUV. You bought the greatest SUV. Excursion is absolutely unique vehicle.
I swear we watch all the same videos haha. You've got that right! Ford excursions are amazing!
That is one sweet ride and for only $15,000 I think you got a great deal, especially with that front end modification. A lot of Excursions were bought and used by fire departments and a few police departments. The sales to the general public were never great, so I think that's why Ford dropped it. It was designed to be a competitor to the Hummer. You never fully comprehend how big an Excursion is until you stand next to one. You being 6'2" look positively tiny standing next to it. I agree with you about SafeLite. I only used them once for a rock damaged windshield on one of my Crown Vics. The guy showed up on time and did a fair, job but took two hours. He clearly didn't know what he was doing, but thankfully he didn't do any damage. I'll never use them again.
Ford has to bring back the Excursion because these Excursion’s are the best
Price tag is going to be low to mid 80,000.
Truck looks kickass!
I actually like the temp/fan control on the steering. Nice rare feature. I've a Jeep GC 3.0 turbo diesel. No problem to tow my 25' camping trailer but a 7.3 turbo diesel is demential !!
Safelite ran my local mom and pop glass repair shop out of town a couple years ago. These big companies have no compassion or personal interest in establishing good customer rapport. The company I used for over 15 years is no longer and at least in my neck of the woods, I would have to drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest Mom and Pop shop to get the personalized compassionate treatment that only home brew business owners possess. I feel your pain Bob! Beautiful Excursion! You didn't come anywhere near over paying. Enjoy it in good health! Zip~
Nice Truck it looks greatttttt. I have a all black 2003. Ill post a video on it soon
I have a 2004 Limited with the 6.0 and have 275000 miles on it. I did have the bullet proof done at 200000 miles and it gets 20 mpg at 80 mph
That is a very nice truck 👍👍👍
The golden age of big SUVs!
Beautiful car! 😊👍🏻
Excellent review I love those excursions even the gas burners with the 3 valve I'm a mechanic I don't mind changing those nasty plugs never had to pull a head to get one out just got to do it right LOL
Is that the Excursion or the Excursion XL extra-long LOL yes they make an XL?? extra long
I do believe that one can handle some donuts lol you know what I mean!
As far as i'm aware, they were all 2 valve gas engines.
That's a cool SUV! It's mind blowing how small it looks though compared to the phantom! : o
I agree about Safelite! I will never use them either, and I tell everyone I can, not to use them, or beware if they do!
Lifted Suburbans, Excursions and Tahoe’s are SMOKIN HOT right now. You’re crazy if you lower it. Google OVERLANDING or check out the Suboverland channel. Cool rig Broseph.
Great vid!👍 crazy what happened with Safelite
Great video man, looks like your in San Antonio, im in houston Cheers!!!
That Homelink does require some special steps to program it. I've put them from Lincolns in several of my other cars and they are nice, once you get it working. There are a couple of types, so you might have to try the old style and new style programming. Sometimes you have to use the original remote to program it, and sometimes you can program it directly to the opener. The truck looks great. Good luck with it!
Nice facelift. Sounds similar to the '72 presidential Lincoln used by Nixon, received a facelift in '79...new 1979 Lincoln front clip......and a '79 rear clip. This was the car that roared to the hospital with Reagan in the back seat after he was shot in 1980.
Because it looks cool as hell
Absolutely love that excursion would love one over hear in the uk imagine trying to park it in the uk lol
I own a 2000 ford excursion I love driving it I dont like driving small suvs etc
Melissa Wo I Agree every time I see a guy that’s driving a crossover or a minivan I say why would anyone ever agree to pay for that and put their family in something like that I have my wife in a Chevy z71 pick up and I know if they ever get in a accident they will will have an advantage over all the little cars on the road plus my wife loves having 4x4 when it snows
@@bg5561742 I didnt mind small cars until I had kids and now that I have 3 I did major upgrade I had 2002 explorer before upgrading to the excursion.......got use to driving thr husbands excursion and so happen his brother was selling his and we snatched it up lol so we have 2 excursions in the driveway yea still have some damage probably and I love the 4x4 as well
I would love to have the 7.3L on my '03 Excursion Limited. Unfortunately mines came with the gas guzzling 6.8L V-10. Great truck though.
Nice truck!
Lol, We said WOW the sametime. that is crazy on RR being bigger.,
Lovely Jubbly, it had to be yours with that paint design.
12:43 Press and hold buttons 1 and 3 for 30 seconds and you will erase the old Homelink programming, then open the owner's manual which will walk you through programming.
You should put some sound proofing in it make super quiet
That Monolith matches your outift Bobby. What a giant of a car !
The pedal thing was funny too. Don't worry Bob, there are plenty of Big guys with small genitalia too. Unfortunately, the pedal thing can't help those people lol !!
Finally something positive again from you :)
14:45 the excursion and super duty community commonly refer to that hook as the panty hanger. It's surprisingly useful
Digging your new to you suv. I will avoid Safelite glass in the future.
I hope you see this comment: on the second row where that flap velcros, that panel is plastic. Go out and feel the square indention on that panel. On Expeditions, they have seat back clips and they are designed to fit right in that hole, you just have to cut it out. There are videos on it. It automatically latches on when you fold it up and you press a release button to let them down.
Post a link if you want.
Built from 99-06
Engines:
7.3 diesel
6.0 diesel
6.8l v10 gas
5.4l v8
Damn! Thought it was a brand new truck with that front end.
I do miss my 05 now... buuuut then I remember the $15,000.00 time bomb 6.0 ticking under the hood... nice 7.3!
great video FORD need to make this again id buy it right now if i could get one in 10speed and the 6.7 diesel looking at a 2020 450 but really need the EXCURSION
CABT excursion out of OK, fully converted
@@Mtothec23 great site i wish i had 140k i can squeak by around 70 but thats wish rice and beans
Nice truck, but it needs a rear fender flare to match the look of the front flares to balance it out. Other than that, mint as is.
Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus beat me to it
Exterior is fantastic, Trunk very good, seats excellent, engine wow, but the cockpit and dashboard need serious upgrade.
I always wanted one 😍🔥
it's a boost gauge that has a tuner built into it for the turbos and it gives you more torque
how old do u think he was when he decided to go with this look
Bob..you can swap out the rear view mirror for one that has dual function...a rear reversing camera plus a dash cam
Amazon has them.
wow! new windscreen ;)
love that truck
I have the same wheels on my 2005 Silverado, hummer yellow with black wheels 😎
Cool that you matched your outfit to the paint……ditch them rockstars though if you wanna keep your truck safe…..we’ll actually it’s been 3 yrs, lol, hope the wheels didn’t fail.
