After working on my 99+, I looked under my friend's hood and realized how much more room there was in the mid 90's Fords. Maybe that has to do with the intercooler, moving the engine back a few inches or whatever.
At any rate, now I have a 6.7 and you can't even SEE the damn engine. Is there a turbo under there? Somewhere, maybe.
Lol I thought the 6.7 turbos were almost like in between the v shape of the v8
@@carter.coleman Yes, they're more or less in the same place. But with all the equipment on top of the engine, you can't actually see the engine or the turbo except in just a few gaps in between stuff.
If you bought all of that last year I welded your whole turbo kit. Lol. Might have even assembled your fuel system too.

Love your truck brother! I’m working on my #dirtyminerdieselproject myself. It’s a 2003 7.3 4x4 crew. Need to get some more stuff. I have a new turbo but it’s stock and a full Banks with tuner, trans controller and cold air.
What CAC are you using in this truck? Looks to run pretty good. Hows it from a stand still?

Nice build and I like the powder coating but with all due respect the 64.5mm turbo is not a BIG TURBO let alone on a 7.3.
Clean motor bay and clean truck man planning on powder coating my pipes etc on my truck.!! How much hp you pushing guessing 350-400 ?

You should have just went all out with the es480 it may take a little longer to spool but it would have been worth it but very nice build

I have an s480 with 400s and it's not street friendly at all
I'm pretty sure but if you have it you need to change them to clamp coming out the front of that turbo intake those are not the proper clamps buddy

How much are you boosting
30-33 range depending on the tune but the boost number isn’t what we are looking for here. Boost is just the amount of outward pressure on the pipes, not a representation of how much air is getting into the engine which is what we want!!
Very true, the stock turbo is only good for like 750 cfm, where this turbo is probably around 1000 cfm and stock 7.3 usually only make about 15 to 17 psi of boost so with all things considered it's a huge improvement.
My 7.3 excursion is getting 25lbs of boost with a rebuilt Garrett turbo wicked 2 wheel and chip on stock injectors.

The problem with those trucks are the front axles , garbage .
That doesnt seem like its that quick, I think my stock turbo 7.3 is quicker than that. Those injectors are holding it back.
Truck wasn’t built for speed. This customer wanted it mostly for towing and with smaller injectors with this turbo his EGTs are very low and never runs out of boost.
@@bunchsdieselperformance1255 the customer picked the wrong turbo if he just wants it for towing, its pretty lazy on that setup.

@@bunchsdieselperformance1255 a stock turbo or a drop in unit would be even more responsive, it builds boost rather slow.
