one thing I always love. is that you can plan the whole mission out, looking at the map and seeing the perfect approach to the objective, flank around the sides, and think about it tactually and going on foot most of the time. almost realistic its just awesome!
My favorite Battlefield game ever. The guns pack such a punch and the levels are so open with so many paths to take. I've beaten the campaign three times now and it never gets old.
***** I actually wasn't very familiar with the whole FPS genre (COD, BF) but it looked good and... it was :) (I got this game with lots of other games when I got my PS3 for xmas)
Joey Slávik I stated battlefield in a weird order here’s the order 1. Bad company 2 2. Battlefield 3 3.Bad company 4.battlefield 4 5. Battlefield 1943 6. Battlefield 1 7. Battlefield hardline 8. Battlefield 5
I miss the happy face grenades. Was disappointed they didn't return in BC2, and now that BC3 seems to be even further away than we initially assumed, I'm a bit worried that DICE will forget a lot of what made the first such a refreshing experience. The humor and light-hearted attitude of the whole thing - coupled with a focus on destruction - made it just plain FUN. BC2 started delving a bit too much into COD-like over-seriousness, and the campaign levels generally lacked the openness and general non-linearity that BC1's had, making it feel more like an attempt to shoehorn destruction into a typical military shooter campaign rather than its own beast. I think now that DICE has pretty much locked down the more brutal, realistic style of the main series with BF3 and BF4, they should strive to keep Bad Company as its own separate entity. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing them go back to a Teen rating. Yes, keep focusing on graphical fidelity, but make it about blowing things up, laughing, and having fun. That's what made the first game such a gem, and I'm dying to have another game like it.
I agree. I picked up BC1 at EB games at least 5-6 months ago. I love it so much. I never played the newer games because of the M rating, and now I wish EA can go back to making things less brutal. #BadCompany3
I just bought this game for £2.50 and its one of the best games i ever played buildings blow up when you grenade them and you feel like your really killing people as the shot hits the enemy, snippering is a dream 10/06 2014 yes that right a great game still holds its own.... go buy it !!!
I remember playing this game through GameFly for 360, and I didn’t think much of it. Now, 12 years later, I appreciate the game so much more. I’m having a blast with the weapons, (no pun intended) the audio, complete with cool little radio tunes, and the chaos around the destructible environments. It’s strange that I’ve come back to a game that I didn’t care for originally and really enjoying it upon a second pass through.
They dont make 'em like they used too. Seriously as their games "evolve" they get worse. Someone tell them we don't need evolution as this was by far the best console FPS ever. 6 years it took me to stop playing.
Well like he said to begin with, there wasn't a lot of first-person shooters to choose from, so he compared to the landscape, and these could've very well been the only two with a strong competitive online community back then. I do understand you though, they are nothing alike and never really has been.
I've played bfbc2 to death on my pc and now i am planning to get a ps3 and maybe this game. one of my most important questions is if the multiplayer is still alive or is everybody playing bc2 now?
Can't believe I am watching this in 2016 I just bought all the battlefield series on PS3 to replay the single player. I previously played this on 360 back in the day. But this battlefield game holds true to me
do people still play this online? I'm trying to get BFBC2 but it hasn't really dropped in price but then I saw this at gamestop cheap so I was thinking about buying it.
@@ulflarsson9693 BC1 was a console exclusive. I wonder why it hasn't seen a PC port in the years since. Seems like a rather easy way to tap into a large market.

Crazy watching this again in 2018 😄now going back to play it on the PS3 instead of Xbox my god this game was good for its time. I love the air strikes over and over and over. I can destroy the whole map. I feel bad for ps3 players you have to hold down the stick to run such a pain.
The music is what made this game to me. It is in my top 3 games of all time... I felt like such a hippster when bc1 came out and I got it and everyone else was playing CoD lol.

@ShingenTakedaa remember review was made before COD took over the gaming industry. this was when the formula was still fresh and not saturated like it is now
@TommyD758 That's because they, like most other games of the shooter genre, are competitors with eachother, very similar to how PCs compete with macs, and with mp3s and ipods.
@Seaction8 They are all great. Playing CoD gives you the basic skills for most military FPS games because it does have fantastic controls, even if you don't care for the gameplay. Halo is a difficult game because the gameplay is a lot different. Battlefield is my favorite, but you should really go for all of these games. You can get the first Bad Company for 9 bucks, Halo 3 ODST (which comes with a Halo 3 multiplayer with all of the maps) for 15 bucks, and Modern Warfare 2 for 25 bucks.
Sad to see how people have forgotten about this great game.
People are still playing it.

one question can you get trophies, badges, medals in a private match? like in boosting?
@JoaoRouxinolSongs are you buying Battle field Bad company 1 or 2?
i say 2 since theirs a bigger playerbase.

Veteran Soul well, it should be, because PlayStation 4 was invented to play older games. Battlefield 2142 is better in my opinion. What do you think?
