      @@peteshobbies5383 Thank you so much for this review! I'm looking to start painting my bikes myself. I'm looking at Ntools Mini 888, 1000B and this 4000B, but was rightfully very unsure about the quality, since a lot of these CN guns get really bad reviews on Amazon (Ntools aren't really sold on Amazon). This review helped me tremendously, it gave me the guts to throw some money after this manufacture. Only toke 7 weeks of thinking ;) Again, thank you!

    TCP Global paint even has a addendum about base sitting over 24 hrs. It says scuff the base and clear your good. It's nice you do the lower end gun reviews cause as you said a lot of people cant's afford a $800/$1000 gun . But a 50 to 150 seems attainable to get started nice job on the videos .

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад

      Hi mate, yeah, scuffing the base with a grey scotchbright is what most people do, I don't like doing that as you can sometimes see it after clear. It does depend on colour but it does happen.
      I've had real opposite luck with the cheaper guns, some aren't particularly good but ok, some, like the R100 I recently purchased are rubbish, and some, like this one, are very good, but that's the whole idea of having a RUclips channel, so I can share my findings and stear people away from the not so good stuff, cheers buddy, thanks for watching. 👍

    Thanks Pete, I was looking for an inexpensive spray gun to paint my old 89 Silverado. I bought the black hvlp gun that you show in the video and another chrome plated ntools 4000b RP version. The RP version has a higher max pressure written on it. Max pressure on it is 43.5 psi.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  11 месяцев назад

      Hi buddy, the pressure on the size as a max is often misleading. Some manufacturers put a max, so you know what the maximum pressure the gun should be subjected to. Some is a recommended maximum spray pressure, which obviously is quite different.
      Have you had a chance to use them yet? , It'll be interesting to hear what you think, cheers mate, appreciate the comments 👍

      I just had an operation so it will be awhile before I can try it. The chrome spray gun has the same box but with different printing on it. Strange, it has printed on it "German technology professional manufacturing" along with the address Komwestheim, Germany.

      Yes, typical of a lot of Chinese manufacturers' claims, it's based on a Sata 4000, hence the "German Technology" obviously without asking them if they mind which of course they would 🙄, cheers mate, hope you recover soon ?

    I'm really suspicious of this gun. Not that it doesn't perform, but rather that it is the same gun as a current popular model in the states called the Spectrum Black Widow. Ironically, the Black Widow is touted by fans by being a very good Sata copy, has the same CFM ratings as you've guessed, and here's the kicker.... the air cap coincidentally has the same amount of holes in the same configuration.
    The Black Widow now has an updated version with rear fan adjustment that again looks mysteriously like another Ntools gun except for a few minor aesthetics in the body. The same air cap configuration. While I suspect these things, people are going gaga for an $180 gun, yet the Ntools versions are readily available for possibly less than half that price.
    I hope I don't come up missing for that conspiracy theory 😢 😂
    Great shooting, Pete!

    Pete, first off, thanks for these videos. Im trying to find a good gun to paint my truck and you're helping me alot. I have two questions. 1. Would you buy this over a Kiwami4? (they are 275-300 dollars now). 2. I have an Ingersoll Rand 5hp, 60 gallon, 14cfm at 90psi and 16cfm at 40psi, would it work with this gun? Merry Christmas!!!

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад

      Hi Mate, you're welcome, buddy. I genuinely enjoy making the videos and sharing it with you guys.
      If you are just going to paint your truck and probably not use it afterwards, then I would buy this.
      If, however, you think you will be doing more after your truck and like quality tools and your not starving the family, then the Kiwami4 would be a good choice.
      Your compressor should run either, although I estimate this 4000B to be around 10.5CFM @ 29psi , the Kiwami4 BA4J is 8CFM @29psi, I think this 4000B is better performance wise than the R500 Aeropro/Rongpeng type gun but the R500 is not too bad and cheap, and uses about the same air as the Kiwami4 BA4J cap.
      Cheers, buddy, Happy Christmas 👍

      I have both the 4000B and the Bellaria(basically the same as the Kiwami4). They are both very good and I like both. Both are well built and will last. I was impressed how nice the 4000B is for the money. The cup is really nice compared to ones that usually come with cheap guns. The controls are nice and smooth. Nice air cap. It has a big even fan like the Iwata maybe a tad bigger but not noticable. Dont like the swivel air inlet but not a deal breaker. Spare parts are gonna be hard to find but honestly I dont see anything wearing out. Its got thick teflon washers behind the nozzle and under the cup and should last forever if you dont overtighten anything. The cup just hand tightens and I just snug the nozzle on, no leaks. If I had to pick one and money was no issue Id pick the Iwata just because its a reputable brand and parts are readily availablle but I would not feel lacking using the 4000B. The 4000B cost me $50usd off aliexp. Kiwami4's are now around $275-300usd and my W400 Bellaria cost $450usd. They all spray very nice so it all comes down to budget and preference

    Thanks Pete for taking the time to do the videos. I ordered one mainly just to see how it sprays. I really only paint old Volvos as a hobby but going to paint a mate’s Defender in a few months. How flat does it lay down the clear coat compared to say a Prolite T110 cap? The fan looks huge so looks like a gun that would be pretty good to use.

      As to a comparison with the T110, the Devilbiss cap would give you a slightly flatter finish.
      Most people, particularly if they don't have good facilities, will need to cut and polish so many won't notice the difference.

    Hi Pete, very interesting video mate I've been looking at these guns on Ali Ex and was thinking that they look well made so if you say they are then they must be good with your engineering background we can rely on your opinion👌
    It certainly laid the base very smoothly and the clearcoat looked amazing mate it got a very nice finish from the Upol clear which as you said isn't the most gun friendly product🤭😅so do you think this gun is better than our Astro gun or about the same🤔
    I think the open time for our basecoat is around 2 hours after that you need to either scuff it back or as you said give it a coat of basecoat binder, I know I do mine totally wrong as sometimes it's 24 hours before I clear it🤠but for what I do it just doesn't matter🙄🫣

      Hola, cuál te gusta más, la R500 o la Ntools mini 800? pensé que sería mejor opción la Ntools 4000B que trata éste vídeo, pero parece consume mucho aire según comentarios. Deseo aplicar base y clear en reparación de lienzos automotriz con 2 pistolas. Mis opciones de compra son las 3 pistolas mencionadas más la mini Iwata W71, todas en 1.3 y la 888 en 1.2. ¿Qué me aconsejas en mi compra? saludos desde México.

      Hola amigo, el 4000b usa mucho aire, el R500 usa menos pero no tan bajo como dice la gente, es alrededor de 9.5cfm a 2.5bar. El 888 es el mismo que las copias Sri Pro Lite en Aliexpress, por lo que usa mucho menos aire. pero también es más lento ya que es una pistola más pequeña, nunca he usado una W71, así que no puedo comentar sobre eso, ciertamente si quieres una pistola de tamaño completo, la R500 consume poco aire en comparación con la mayoría de las pistolas de tamaño completo.

      Hi buddy, if something goes wrong, you would just have to buy another.
      The price of the gun is very low, for example a tip set from Iwata is the same cost as 2 1/2 of these guns so spare part aren't really something that's thought about, not good in this day and age I know but these should last quiet well.
      Obviously, if a painter is doing a lot of painting, they could get problems with parts

      I like guns that you can get parts for but this gun is very well built and sprays most materials with the 1.3 nozzle very well. Nice big even fan, built well, nice cup that doesn't feel cheap. It's got flat teflon orings behind the nozzle and where the cup screws in but if you dont overtighten they will last forever.

    Hi Pete, back again, could you do a video dedicated to air compressors? I went with the 3300 GTO EPA gun (250L/min), but my Dynamac 100L compressor can't keep up. I've been searching the market and I found one with 350L/min 3Hp. But when checking videos on RUclips about it, from empty to full it takes more than two minutes. So, in reality, what does it mean when the manufacturer states those 350L/min? This is going to be a big investment and I wouldn't want to spend close to 1000 quid to then have an air compressor that can't keep up with the gun.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад

      Hi mate, yes, I will try. Regulators and compressors always come up.
      First off, you really don't need to spend £1000 to get 350lmin, are you talking about a screw or piston compressor?, screw types are very expensive and very good but not really needed most of the time, a piston belt drive should be enough.
      A compressor that's rated at say 350lmin will actually be somewhere around 260lmin free air. Free air is more of a true reflection of the output of a compressor.
      A lot of compressors are more or less the same, but with a different name on the side, they can double in price for the same thing.
      Let me know what type you are looking at for a grand, and I'll try and help. Cheers 👍

      @@peteshobbies5383 the 1000 is for a belt driven 3HP Fini or Fiac. Currently I have a Dynamac of 100L, don't know the specs as they desappeared, but with a tornador, at 8 bar, consuming 200L/min, the compressor comes up in twenty seconds and can't keep up with the air for the tornador. At 30 seconds of work the tornador starts to slow down.
      I've found off brands claiming 350L/min for 299, but I'm not sure that's realistic. (Cevik PRO 50VX)

      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад +1

      @PauloAmaral2U Hi Paulo, I have a Cevik Pro 50 VX in Spain, and it will keep up with a Sagola GTO 3300 1.3 EPA cap at 2 bar
      It's not a belt drive, so it is noisy, but it works well. You can link the 50lt compressor up to your 100lt compressor. That way, you would have 150L, which will also help. You can also have them running together if you wish and have the power supply for 2 together

    • @PauloAmaral2U
      @PauloAmaral2U Год назад +1

      @@peteshobbies5383 that's what I was thinking, linking both tanks. I'll go for that solution, if the cevik alone can handle the sagola, then together will work for sure. Thank you for your time and patience Pete 🙏

      @jonot8547 Yes, this does use quite a lot of air, so it isn't ideal if you have a smaller compressor. The R500 type guns use around 8 CFM at 36 psi so is a little less than the NVE or the 4000B

    I just recieved this gun in the mail. I paid under $50 from Aliexpress. I was a bit skeptical. First impressions. WOW! I can't believe this cost so little. The build quality was awesome. I got the copper/orange color one and it looks really good. Nice trigger and controls. The cup is nice and doesn't leak. I haven't sprayed paint yet but I ran some water through it to check the pattern and its really wide and even. I sprayed it at 20psi and I can tell by the way the water atomized that its gonna spray nice. Loads better than the R500. Uses quite a bit more air tho so it's not gonna work well with small compressors. I don't too much care for the swivel air inlet. Other than that I think this ones gonna be a winner👍
