(Privileged was a joke just incase somone doesn't realise XD but if you need to be told that you're better off not online tbh)

    As a Wave Race 64 speedrunner, I can say there is likely some small remastering done to the overall feel and play of the Shindou version of the game that makes it play better than the original 1.0 JP and US versions. All of the top IL players use the Shindou version and it is the best version for RTA as you pointed out the load time differences in your video. I appreciate the spotlight on these two awesome games and the very well made video SSFF :)

      @joshshrum2764 11 месяцев назад

      So basically your saying Waverace 64 Shindou, is the better version between the two, and Mario 64 Shindou, is worse mainly for speedrunners so all round being worse overall despite the rumbling helping you not get cramped up which would help speedrunning ironically.

    • @TheMGMfan
      @TheMGMfan 5 лет назад +1

      Dimensiom I honestly don’t mind the extra weight myself; in fact, because I only put it in for games that support it (which I started doing because of my suspicion that it drained the batteries anyway), it’s kinda jarring when I use an N64 controller without a rumble pak inserted after I used it with it.

    I had a 3rd party rumble pack that had an extra slot to use both memory card and rumble. Takes the same amount of battery a too. Sure it weighed heavier than the normal rumble pack, but did come with rumble intensity too. (back when the high setting still worked) will vibrate the controller to the point that little me couldn't hold on to it without it my hand going numb due to the vibration.
    And JFYI. Yes I did attach another rumble to it and yes it was freaking heavy for a little kid and it did work. Broke the battery cover on the 1st party rumble pack and was ungodly heavy for a little kid to hold it without resting on a table to play after picking it up for a few minutes.

    I heart the N64. It was everything the Atari Jaguar claimed to be, and so much more. The only thing I wish they had done with it is include more side scrolling action/platformers such as Rayman. Besides that, it was a fantastic console with quite a few hidden gems (not so much hidden these days in the RUclips era). Games such as Shadowgate 64, Winback, Hybrid Heaven and Space Station Silicon Valley just to name a few. Sure, it's well known for its 1st and 2nd party games, and for good reason, but there is a respectable stack of 3rd party games that most people don't talk about when discussing the N64.

    Thanks for another awesome video! How about a video about Secret of Evermore? It's made by SquareSoft, but has never been released in japan and is in my opinion very underrated. You could even extend it to other RPGs that haven't been released in japan.

    Side note: Microsoft and Sony's lawsuits were filed by a patent troll company, not a legit one.

    I wonder what kind of changes they would've made to Mario Kart 64 if it got a re-release? Boggles the mind.
