I did something similar recently when replaying Super Mario Galaxy. I only performed actions that were expressly taught to me by the game. Not even a long jump or wall kick was allowed until I found the relevant instructional sign. It was pretty neat. I had to restrain myself from using the crazy maneuvers I usually do.
