Cadets Beat Retreat at Edinburgh Castle 2024

Some extracts from the Ceremony of Beating the Retreat held at Edinburgh Castle on Saturday 20 April 2024. The ceremony was performed by the massed pipe bands, military and bugle bands of the cadet forces.

Funny I've heard the term Beating Retreat. Never knew what it meant. It's a celebration of running a foe out of a town.
