On her new album Nightfall, set for release on 24 August 2018, Alice Sara Ott takes a very personal look at the magical moment in time and space between day and night, light and darkness, basing her explorations on works by Debussy, Satie and Ravel. With meticulous attention to detail, she traces the shifting moods in these works, revealing the fascinating interplay of the light and dark tones used by Debussy, Satie and Ravel to create such wide-ranging atmospheres. I certainly liked this one more than other versions. although, I do not think it is cinsiderably influenced or different from others.

My junior high music teacher introduced her classes to "Clair de Lune" and Debussy. She said she hoped both would be favorites of ours, and it has been mine 70 years out. If Lois Fasig could see and hear Alice Sara Ott play it, she would have thought she was transported to heaven, or that a piece of heaven was transported to Earth. I love this woman, don't each one of you? And I know all of us, her fans, pray for her and hope she can cope with MS and continue, at least in part, with her great career. I love you, Alice Sara Ott. And all your fans do.

Alors pour qu'on comprenne bien que c'est l'ombre et la lumière, on a eu une idée : on va plonger la scène dans l'ombre, on n'y verra qu'à peine, et on va mettre des boules de Noël lumineuses partout, et on va surtout bouger la caméra tout le temps, ça fera comme la musique, qui bouge et tout. Debussy c'est ça, des reflets qui bougent, quoi. Ça sera poétique en diable.

Alice Sara Ott is the only pianist who makes this piece sound to me like it's actually from the moon. I don't know how to explain it
Sublime performance & Claire de Lune is my favorite piece. (But - too much camera movement made me dizzy!!!!!)
No matter the latitude there's a calm clarity in the fading daylight but a reflectiveness to the enveloping night.
Claude Debussy must have been experiencing a loving period in his life when he penned this piece.
Inspired doesn’t seem adequate enough to describe it.
