I love my 2017 Tucson, I own it since new and I already have 88,000 kms. This car has been out of any kind of trouble driving it in Mexico city, a city full of holes and bumps. I love it. I had a corolla before this one and I had to replace engine mounts every 35,000 kms.. In the Tucson nothing has been replaced and it runs perfect. It was made in Czeck Republic and from 2021 on will be made also in Alabama, USA.
@@raiderfly dcts from any brand pretty much sucks it hasn't been around long enough and isn't a reliable transmission quite yet. Had a Hyundai 05 Elantra and now got a Prius 07 and 21 Tucson but its the base model with no turbo or dct straight automatic

You missed the door lock actuator. This is the most common issue in all Hyundai 2016 Tucsons, according to my dealership. Should have been a safety recall. You nailed the airbag sensor issue. This airbag sensor problem seems to be common in many vehicle makes and models. My dad had his go out in his Mini Cooper and my friend had the same problem in his Mercedes. There must be a third party manufacturer who makes the faulty sensor. I have not verified this. Thank you for this informative video.
2017 Tucson 1.6T, 64,000 miles and zero issues since bought new. Also use Valvoline Modern GDI full synthetic and the BG MOA PN115 oil additive every 4,000 miles. Engine purrs. On top of all maintenance.

This doesn't apply to the tucson's with the 2.0l engines and 6 speed transmissions. This vehicle seems like it's the 1.6 turbo with the dct transmission. Why dont you be more clear on the specific engine and transmission that give these issues instead of putting all under the same category.
Are they bulletproof? I got one and the dealer says they got a couple of pretty high mileage ones alrrady I know Hyundai automatics and certain engines tend to be bulletproof
My 2017 tucson 1.6T accelerates so fast it leaves me breathless. At the stop lights without any efforts or intent I see all other vehicles thr wing mirrors, still at the stop after 10seconds. It amazes me. Bought and serviced at Munganest Lexus. I also dont know why it's so fast with such a small engine.
My 2017 Tucson has the problem with acceleration after being stopped. Sometimes it actually doesn't respond at all and won't shift into gear. I have taken my Hyundai into the 3 different dealerships and none of them can resolve the issue.
Power window actuators. First the driver's door window needed the actuator replaced after about three years. Then a few months later the passenger door actuator. Finally just two days ago both back door window actuators. 2016 Tucson bought new in 2017.

I have a 2016 on the second owner. I think I’m about to have to buy a motor for the second time. Hopefully I still have a little bit of warranty on my second replacement.
I have a Hyundai Tucson Se 2016 2.0L. It has 50.000 miles and the only issue I’ve had it’s the compressor. I had to change it due to low cold air and I was cooling just when accelerating the car. I changed the tires, rotors, breaks, alignments and a coolant flush. It works good the only thing I complaint about is the gas consumption that is usually 22mpg pretty bad.
Well I’m not sure what’s happening to mine (2016 AT 4WD but I’ve been to 3 mechanics already and no one has found a problem but sometimes when I’m in a high way and start reducing the speed, the car increases the rpm to 4000 and sounds like if I have pushed the gas pedal but I didn’t, I was trying to pull over (the car does not move faster, it just sounds like if it did and then increases the rpm)… I guess I better take it to Hyundai then since there is no any issue or any alerts on the dash

Besides those, people are experiencing (1) repeated failures on the plastic window pulley resulting in the windows not working - eventually happens to all doors repeatedly.. (2) Door handle/lock mechanism failure to the point where the door can't be opened from inside or outside (3) AC compressor failure in under 5 years...(4) transmission issue .. Where if you hit a bump the gear sometimes gets knocked temporarily into neutral.. And then goes back into gear... All that in a 2016 Tucson..2.0 gas version
Yes My 2018 Hyundai Tucson 2.0l with 70k miles had driver side window stopped rolling yesterday. I am dead sure it is reputed plastic gear problem. Hyundai should issue a recall on it.
My 2016 Tucson is a POS... Bought it brand new with 11 miles on it back in 2016. Everything you've mentioned has happened. I've replaced the window regulators in 2/4 with the back passenger window broken now too. (Refuse to pay for that right now) The door latches to both front doors have been replaced, AC compressor broke last year, left blinker switch went out just before I lost warranty, and I've had the alternator replaced twice just after warranty went out. Save yourself the hassle and don't ever get one of these garbage cars...
It’s crazy because I’m having the door issue where I can’t open my passenger door from the outside and now the window doesn’t want to go down, and on top of that a week ago the AC evap sensor went out 🥲
I've had nothing but acceleration problems. And most recently while driving on the highway I was trying to increase my speed...I had my foot all the way down and it was like it was stuck, started making this tea kettle whistling noise, and my speed decreased. I thought I was going to die.
I have an issue with my car 2017 Tucson. the car starts, but when put in Drive and pressing the gas it does not accelerate at all, does not move. Or when in reverse. What could be the problem? When on ?Neutral or parking there is RPM, the car has only 63400 miles.
I returned leased 2022 tuscon after 3 years. Had issues with transmission where loss gas power. I have a 2017 base model and is currently in the shop. Definitely sounds like I have that acceleration issue. Hoping it's a minor fix and/or covered under warranty! (i'm at 93000 miles)
My 2016 Tucson, which has about 80.000 km and is 5 tears old, as the older 2010 model that I also owned, have an issue with the front right passenger air vent, at low air flow you can bearly hear a screech, ir seems that I am the only one noticing it, other passengers don't hear anything. Additionaly, the 2016 model developed sounds in the insulating rubbers mounted on the driver door, dust cleaning and applying sillicone grease on them, fixed it. Otherwise, the car is techincally sound, I didn't experience any of the issues presented here. Actually it is the only one which run perfectly that long, I am talking here comparing it to other models I used as new, like Toyota CR-H or VW Tiguan.
Anyone got a fix or know the cause of the delayed acceleration? This is almost got to be killed a few times. Have it scheduled to take into the dealer next week.
I have a 2019 which I purchased around November of 2018, I use it a lot, so far it has 45K miles on it. That was about 20K a year, it’s been good so far. Only got 1 check engine light which is the P0420 code
Tuscon showing driver door open when closed.Locking sometimes then not..Just out of warranty and showing no faults? Would this be door jam sensor or lock?
My Tucson is a 2018 2.0L Crdi it has about 140k Kms it’s been so reliable but now it makes a weird noise in the engine i think it’s The tensioner i don’t know 🤷♂️
My 2021 Hyundai Kona has been at Reliable Hyundai (Springfield MO) for 10 months now! 8,000 miles and it has had 2 failed transmissions and they are putting in the third one! This has been a nightmare. Dealership is a joke. Hyundai corporate is a joke. Go see for your self. It’s next to the service car wash. It’s the dark grey color. They have lied and lied about the repair or lack there of. I regret getting a Hyundai.
I had my transmission replaced in my 2017 Hyundai Tucson shortly after buying it with less than 25k miles or so. Problems with acceleration from speed position can't be fixed. Taken to 3 different dealerships with no resolution.
I'm always confused by the EVAP sensor which is related to the AC and the EVAP system the recirculates gases from the fuel tank.. Are they both called the same?
+sagi fern The evaporator temperature sensor or switch is a component commonly found on many road going vehicles. It is a part of the vehicle's AC system, and as its name implies, detects and monitors the temperature of the AC system's evaporator. The EVAP's function is to keep gas fumes in the gasoline tank from reaching the atmosphere. This keeps air pollution down, and keeps the smell of fuel from reaching the inside of your vehicle.
Hello my friend. Great video, congrats. I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson GLS with no day time running lamps on it. Do you know how can I install it using the original wire installation? Thank you very much.
This mechanic is giving alot of misinformation about this vehicle. This specific tucson in the video had the 1.6 turbo engine with the cvt transmission which are notorious for issues. Stick to the 2.0l non turbo engine with the 6speed transmission and you will be fine. I would go with the 2018 since it's the last model year with all the upgrades.
2.0L petrol 2WD, 60km, occurs handbrake malfunctions/EPB failure. It locks the wheel all the time until the lock system motor is changed, which costs around 500 USD.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited. & I have the 4th problem. Slow acceleration and a delay in picking up speed while trying to accelerate. I have taken it to the dealership that I bought it from several times and they have done nothing about the problem. What else can I do?? Because it is frustrating and becomes a safety issue especially while driving on the highway... 😩
Yes, same problem I am having with my 2017 Hyundai Tucson Limited!! I have taken mine to 3 Hyundai dealerships actually and none of them able to resolve it.
I'm having the same problem. I asked about it when i went to the dealership for an oil change and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. It happens almost every time for me. Very low power at low gear and RPM, stuttering and hesitation. And if I give it a lot of gas it kind of 'gets over it' and jerks up to speed way too fast.
Take it to a 3rd party mechanic shop to get a full diagnosis you will have to pay out of pocket but it will be worth it. What dealerships try to do is patch whatever they can to save money even if its covered under warranty. The last thing you want is your engine stalling after your coverage is up.
+Kidus Gebremichael We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

I've been driving my hyundai tucson 2016 1.7 for almost 5 years now and haven't had any issues untill today when I went out and when I've changed from 3rd to 4th gear I've heard a crackling noise. It only makes the noise when I go to 4th gear all other gears are fine. The car is currently 45750 miles. Any ideas what could be the problem.
Hello .. how you doing .. i have problem i need u to help me please .... I have Tucson 1.6 turbo 2016 ... I replace signal lamp to led signal so in display there is a problem message that told me to ( chech turn signal ) how can i solve this problem ?
2016-Tucson Sport, 1.6 turbo. 77K miles 1-Replaced air condition evaporator. 2-Burns front headlights and sockets. 3-Burns break lights, sockets are also bad. Replaced with Leds and sockets are bad. 4-rear door lock jam, this is a known issue and no-recalls from Hyundai. 5-Rear window bad motor assy. 6-when in 1st gear transmission jerks. I’ve had my 2016 Tucson limited 1.6t for over 2 years and yesterday during 2 hour slightly up hill stop n go traffic on the way to the renaissance faire the transmission was giving a hear warning so i had to pull over twice to let it cool down, i believe the dual clutch was starting to burn because it let out an unusual odor my car hasn’t ever done before, i figured out it was a 1.6t problem because another one 2 years newer also had the same problem and had to pull over, other than that its been great!
Dont lay on the brakes amd the gas pedal at the same time when creeping forward. The DCT transmission in your car is operates like a manual and you shouldnt lay on the clutch. Wait for the car in front of you to start moving and then go. Dont hold the car from rolling with the accelerator, use your brakes.

Anyone got a fix or know the cause of the delayed acceleration? This is almost got to be killed a few times. Have it scheduled to take into the dealer next week.
Having an issue currently when I accelerate & take the foot off the pedal it feels like is still accelerating
2018 Tucson, eats a lot of oil. I mean a lot.
I have a 2020 Tucson. And it has been great not one issue at all. Thanks for the videos.
It's brand new ..
@@nickr3441 Exactly.. Hope he doesn't park it in a garage.
I have a 2019 which I purchased around November of 2018,
I use it a lot, so far it has 45K miles on it. That was about 20K a year, it’s been good so far. Only got 1 check engine light which is the P0420 code
Brah, I have a 09 tucson and 2013 audi q3 rs engine and itll sound crazy but it was given as a birthday present, will that engine fit my tucson ?
Where is the heater block cord for 2020 Tucson I looked but can't locate so I can plug in my car for cold nights.
Tuscon showing driver door open when closed.Locking sometimes then not..Just out of warranty and showing no faults? Would this be door jam sensor or lock?
I have a 2017 ticoson and i just bought it from dealer and when i acelerated does not go tskes time to go
I would like to where is the IAT sensor located on 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1,6 l engine?
I have a active hood sensor light on ... How do I reset
Can you show how the Problem 1 one can be solved, I mean how to change the speed sensor. thanks in advance
My biggest regret is getting a Hyundai
I had my transmission replaced in my 2017 Hyundai Tucson shortly after buying it with less than 25k miles or so. Problems with acceleration from speed position can't be fixed. Taken to 3 different dealerships with no resolution.
My 2018 is great but the P0456 code has popped up and I’m trying to solve that one
(Very small exhaust leak)
need part for transmission and air condition part what parts do i nee and is it something i can do myself
Maybe next time include a bit more info on each "Problem". ie: common/average mileage people had reported the "problem". Good video👍
+Cody Schleiger Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
Can you suggest to buy used tucson 2016, 2017, 2018 or 2019.
2019 is the newer body style
Have a 2019 ultimate. Love the car. My tail light is glitching. God damn it. Lol
What about the gdi engine are they problematic? Does anybody know?
2.0L petrol 2WD, 60km, occurs handbrake malfunctions/EPB failure. It locks the wheel all the time until the lock system motor is changed, which costs around 500 USD.
My 2018 hatch opens correctly then closes about a foot. Why?
oil problems around 70.000kms 2017 new engine they will give you check vin number
I’ll try the hard reset, my speaker is not working when using bluetooth on phone. Thank you!
+Heidi Ibale Thanks for the feedback!
@@AndyPlaysGames That's the exact same thing with mine as well! 😩
@@shannoninalaska Ughh it's so frustrating!! Clearly it's a common issue for owners of these particular models, something definitely needs to be done.
Take it to a 3rd party mechanic shop to get a full diagnosis you will have to pay out of pocket but it will be worth it.
What dealerships try to do is patch whatever they can to save money even if its covered under warranty. The last thing you want is your engine stalling after your coverage is up.
I have tucson 2019 I notice high temperature in transmission what is the main reason .
+Kidus Gebremichael We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
If you have a DCT transmission or dual-clutch, don't feather the brakes the brakes act like an electronic clutch and just driving up car ramps I caused that overheat light to come on by constantly Feathering the brakes
Buena informacion.
77K miles
1-Replaced air condition evaporator.
I would not recommend this car.
2019 with 50k miles. No issues at all!
I have this delay on my new i30 and its getting worse... The dealership just plugged the obd scanner and said there is nothing wrong...
Can you do any videos on the 2nd generation Tucson I can’t find many for my car like I changed the ac hi side pressure switch can’t find the low side switch 🙏

Are the transmission spd sensor and acceleration issues also model specific? That is to say both 6spd auto/2.0 and DCT/1.6t models affected?
what about 2014 models?
2018/ 1.6T/ DCT- I have 80,000 hard miles on mine driving it like an idiot with sport mode. Not once have I had any serious concerns. Just regular oil change and transmission flush maintenance
I just got mines 2018 22000 miles on it rides smooth when do you usually change the oil

After the software update they did as part of a recall, my Tucson 2016 is using 30% more fuel 🤬 They refuse to restore to original. Anyone else have seen this problem?
Great video!
I have a 2016 Tucson ECO and have not experiences any of the 5 problems.
I have none of these problems. Manual transmission and it’s a 2019 model. Always go with the 2 version. Never buy a car if it’s not facelifted
