Sounds a bit like an Amiga tracker tune - not such a bad thing - but a bit lo-fi. Really wanted to love my SH4D, but it's gone to somebody else now - limitations on sound quality (aliasing/voice stealing with 4 layers of complex sounds) and some UX frustrations (no un-quantized recording/long recordings, patch storage mechanisms) and synth engine frustrations (no individual oscillator pan (and no voice pan spread) /only one LP filter type, limited modulation) were too much even though I love the portability of this device (USB C cable for everything was very nice and it's such a compact unit yet with plenty of controls).
I get your complains, after more than a year of use I tend to think of it as a compact-well-sounding synth module. I tend to not use its built-in sequencer, I prefer pairing it with Oxi One or an Elektron sequencer. As for the lofi sound I think you're right, that's why I will try to improve the quality of samples in the future. Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate your contribute, cheers!
