    It was disrespectful not to show or give any interest to the pixel 7 pro's camera comparison in portrait, video and main lens for the rest of the video. In my conclusion you were biased as you failed to give examples for the viewer to decide and make that call for themselfs. Becca, next time dont just take out a smartphone in the middle of a comparison video because of your bias decisions, in doing so you lose credibility as it was not a fair comparison of the other features not shown.

    Wait, so just because you didn't prefer the color science and the style of photos that the Pixel takes for it's main wide camera You just removed it entirely from showing us the sample photos? Instead of letting the audience decide what they like out of the three? Photography is up to the users preference, i understand and respect you don't like Pixels photos but you should as a reviewer leave it up to your viewers to decide what they think

      @Jeffry Chen She is inconsistent in the comparisons. She throws out the Pixel for inconsistent "system choices" and then goes on to praise everything about the S22 Ultra's manual calibrations in pro mode. She never once mentions the pro mode in the Pixel or that you can get way more out of the iPhone camera with a 3rd party app. Just a poor ending to the test.

    • @mrcraggle
      @mrcraggle Год назад +13

      @Jeffry Chen but later in the video, she also said the Samsung was unpredictable in what the photo will look like. That's just the same as the Pixel 7 Pro not being consistent. She negates said unpredictability with the Samsung having the best portrait mode. By that same logic, you could negate the colour science of the Pixel for having the best Astrophotography mode or motion blur or the ability to unblur photos which is great for taking pictures of kids.

    • @wittynclever

      I like the Pixel photos better than Samsung, and in most cases better than iPhone. Idk what she's talking about with the Pixel being behind Samsung and iPhone when it comes to the main camera sensor. I could see maybe PREFERRING the iPhone, but if anything Samsung is behind unless it's in regard to the telephoto in daylight. I think iPhone is great too but it tends to over-expose especially in low light. They're all great cameras, but Pixel still looks the best imo. Every time I'm at a party or something take some photos, people ask me to use my phone instead of theirs. And they own Samsungs and iPhones for the most part. Not too many Pixel owners out there but they all love the camera.

Every time I take photos somewhere with other people they talk about how great they are and ask me to take photos with my Pixel. And these people are largely Samsung and iPhone users.

      I wasn't expecting this conclusion. When I had my S22 Ultra, regardless of the lens I used, I found the images to be noisy with crushed shadows, blown highlights and over processing leading to artifacts and over saturation. I've found my Pixel 7 Pro to be far more consistent with more natural colours, less noise and better balanced dynamic range across its cameras. Very good flexibility in its RAW files too.

If it would have used the f/4.9m 10x lens it would have been much darker and clearer than the 3x cropped photo shown in the video. So interesting to see how much opinions differ.
    I'm about to buy a new phone and your review was comparing exactly these phones that are in my list of phones to select.
    Very most of my pictures I take during daylight, hardly I use the front camera and I don't use videos a lot.
    And with taking photos from the main cameras on the back during dayime in my opinion the winner couldn't be any more obvious than the Google Pixel 7 Pro from what I have seen in your review. Especially with high contrast pictures, which most pictures are when taking them outdoors, it looks most natural, kind of what the human eye would see, where the iPhone makes dark areas far too dark and the Samsung looses colors in brighter areas. The perfect example is the picture at 1:08 where the iPhone renders the lower part of the sky white and the Samsung keeps it all an unnatrual constant blue and at the same time making the trees far too bright where with the Google the whole scene gives details without looking too artificial - basiclaly coming very close to what my eye would see.
    Unfortunately the main part of your review was focusing a lot more on Samsung/iPhone and the Google came quite short. So I would have loved to see that in the main compare, too.
    Anyway, your review makes it a lot easier for me to make a selection - most likely it will be the Pixel 7 Pro.
    Thank you!

    Great job on the comparisons! Seems like a lot of thought and effort was put into the review. Some things that may be good to include/look at in the review are the settings that the phones offer to adjust how it focuses or processes the image (Samsung for instance uses a "scene optimizer" that adjusts colors based on what the user is taking a picture of). Another thing that kind of helps address almost all of the downfalls with the S22U is Samsung's Expert Raw app, which does a much better job at removing/reducing grain and gives an overall better quality image (and as of right now just improved the lag, and added new modes for exposure and long exposures of stars). While I myself own the S22U and will praise it for days, I want to mention that I have a family member who also has an iPhone 14 and what I love about the phone is what you can get out of it (especially with subjects) for essentially no thinking.

  • @namandhimole1815
    @namandhimole1815 Год назад

    Hey Becca, one thing which I have seen on Samsung flagships since s20 ultra came out is that when taking night shots, sometimes the higher telephoto camera won’t be activated because of lower aperture size. Shifting to night mode sometimes reduces the probability of this happening. I would request you to try this yourself. There is a subtle, up visible difference on longer telephoto lenses when the software actually makes the switch between lenses. Another aspect to this is the focal distance. More often than not, the closer objects use digital zoom from a lower telephoto than optical zoom at higher telephoto. In my experience, the longer telephoto almost always produces a better image. Not sure why Samsung does this.

    Sadly... reality kicks in. Comparing smartphone shots even the top of the line is only very important for reviewers and enthusiasts 'cause the rest of world just couldn't or wouldn't be able to distinguish differences shots made by a midrange or flagship smartphone. Reviews like these be like "look at the super sharpening going on, look how the machine learning boost this shot, did you notice the artifacts on the image' Sure a lot of people would praise a shot taken by a Galaxy, a Pixel, a Xiaomi or Apple device but then they continue with their life, choose the midrange one, shot a photo, apply a filter or edit and then upload it. Camera on midrange and flagship has small negligible differences as years went by and only reviewers are looking for different tiny details from one shot to another. Comparing shots in the upcoming years will be harder for reviewers while majority of the buyers would just be happy with the shot they've taken.
