Finally joined Vero, it's a great app for photographers. Thanks Vero for such platform and Mark for the information about Vero and it's features. 🙌🙏😊😊👍🏼
This is what annoys me, I'm not posting for "Photographers" I couldn't care less what other photographers think of my work. I want my CLIENTS to see it. Unfortunately Insta is where my clients currently are and I don't see them ever going to VERO, Especially to PAY to see stuff.
Instagram sucks, I really hate the fact that I have to resize my photos and add black boarder around some just to fit all the portrait and landscape styles in one posting with multiple images. Drives me literally insane. Plus the downsizing and image quality loss is so bad. Thanks Vero for being awesome.
I may not get 1,000,000 likes (not that I was getting that on IG) but the engagement on Vero is way more genuine in my opinion.
I was really excited about VERO…I’ve pretty much gotten tired of it already, even after been featured repeatedly by large hub’s and posting daily I have 30 followers 🥴 lol

Recommend to export your images with a maximum long edge of 3000px; above 3000 VERO will start do downsize after upload. Thankfully no format restrictions anymore, halleluja

Well said I started on Vero a couple of months ago and it took a little while for people to start following me but I’m not the best photographer just a keen amateur. What I like is you can recommend other accounts and I get inspired to take better photographs by looking at other photographers work.
The only way Vero will take off and people stay is if photographers make it a community.That means not posting and running. You yourself have a fair number of followers, but you only follow 15 people. This is something I notice with a lot of social media personalities/influencers. It's like 'Come follow me here, but I am not going to put in any effort to find other photographers cause everyone elses work is crap, Vero is just another place to dump photos.'

Not trying to be a contrarian, but everyone has different motivations behind following. Some people follow to be fans, some people follow to be inspired, some people follow for community and friendship. I follow to be inspired, so I can’t follow 100 people. So if this dude only follows 15 people, that’s fine. He doesn’t have to look for more people to follow just for the sake of following more people to not look like a snob. Everyone has their why for following.
We really need an instagram competitor for photography but Vero feels so overwhelming. They seriously need to simplify the UI a lot

Been on it a month. NOBODY follows you as there's no casual audience for photography like on INSTA, only photographers. Most photographers of a certain level will NEVER follow anyone they perceive to be beneath them.
Vero is slow asf too. Never take off

All that feature of sharing other artists you like will be is the small people like us sharing the bigger photographers making them more popular or the big one sharing other big ones but them never sharing the random small photographers.
Great video as always. I downloaded Vero a while back but forgot about it. After watching this video, I will certainly pick it up again. Instagram is dead as we used to know it, and has since become a tragic and trashy copy of TikTok. See you at Vero photographers!

Signed up today. Every new platform has to start with little to no users and grow from there. We decide which ones fail and which ones succeed. If you want to stick with Instagram, that's your choice but given some of the poor anti-photography decisions they have made lately, I'm happy to give another platform a try. I'd rather have a small community of genuine people than a large community of bots and randoms.
You’re right, but to become popular on internet in general you kinda have to use the popular medias. I hope that vero will become more popular and revelent and will make a name out here
Yeah …. Vero is nice and all that, you try convincing non photography friends/family that this is the place to be to see your photos.

True. Instagram has veered off of its original trajectory since the beginning of the "social media war" every social media seems so bland and alike lately, with many of them copying TikTok .
I stopped using Instagram a while back precisely for many of the reasons you mentioned. Thanks im going to give it a try.
No Ads. No subsciption. How is Vero making money to survive/evolve?
After 5 years still no desktop "app" (in my case it's a big problem for my workflow).
I hope it evolves and maybe I'll create an account but I'm not putting much effort into it, yet.

Vero has been out since 2015. I guess they've fixed all the bugs if everyone's using it all of a sudden 😅
I would like to try Vero but they don't want to make their app compatible with Huawei smartphones and you can't do anything from a pc as you have to create an account from the app.

What I like about Vero is that the small amount of followers I get compared to Instagram are actually following me because they are fellow photographers and appreciate my work. Not because they are irrelevant accounts trying to get me to buy shares in this or flog me x rated videos
Thank You for the video, as I will consider it in doing it, and switch to Vero, and is that a Olympus SP 35mm Camera? If it is as I have one too, and mine is Black, Great camera - sharp lens. Good Video. This is will be the time that I will have to say to Zuckerberg this: "Hey Data, As your name is still on my Hospital, But your Instagram site will be a thing of the past like Facebook...".

Man i love you're channel but was wondering if you are affiliated with Vero cause when I went to down load it, it's only ranked 3 stars. Doesn't seem very good. A lot of people reported that it's really buggy and have problems uploading and writing a description.
App got boring. Little to no interaction with anybody.
Why WOULDN'T Vero overtake IG? IG sucks now, period! I think Vero is the next platform for us photographers sharing our pics in HQ for people to enjoy as they're meant to be enjoyed; IG is just a money train at this point and has lost ALL its integrity.

Why is it you're filming yourself from the side once in a while? As I, the viewer, suddenly teleported to another place in your living room? To underline how unnecessary distractions can make the experience annoying?

100% agree with this instagram have gone I started using VERO about a month ago and wouldn’t look back amazing app.
Ig = TikTok = big shit reels and contents now … all good photographer and content creator that I love now move to vero !!! Hurraaaaa !!
One of the best reviews of Vero yet! I’ve been using it for a few months and got rid of my Instagram account entirely, that’s how sick of the algorithm I was!

I love Vero. No stupid crop ratio limitations, no compression or file size reduction, and best all... No ads or reels! Just photography the way it should be.
Not a huge IG fan but I suggest people research before jumping to V.

Vero is gonna cost money. Even if its dirt cheap, thats gonna keep it from ever being what i think people hope vero is gonna be. Atleast imo. I think best case, vero takes people away, makes some of these features popular....then instagram is just gonna copy those features

I agree with the annoyances you share about IG. But VERO… I had never heard of it, I’ve since downloaded the app, created an account and looked around. I’m not impressed and don’t see how VERO is actually better than IG. I see nothing at VERO until I subscribe to someone. NOTHING. Horrible! Say what you say about IG, it’s still the best way to promote your art. Yes, pictures are not the way to go with IG. You need to make reels. In that way, it’s not just the people that follow that will see your content.
Awful attempt to promote the app. Instagram is not good for photographers because of the features, or time savings, is good because EVERYBODY is there! Give me a break!
I used to really have respect for you and what you do, but this is just a sales pitch for VERO and not realistic… you haven’t left instagram since I still see your images being posted there… not to convinced that this is the way to go… nice try
Personally, I tried the app in '18 or so, when a lot of tattoo artists were giving it a go. But they all quickly abandoned it, when nobody would come over to follow them there. Lots of photographers that I've talked to said the same thing now: they've already abandoned it again.
To me, it's just boring. As much as people say they don't like seeing so many recommended posts on Instagram, it's a great way to get discovered too. And a good way to find new people. I'm not the kind of guy who goes out searching for people to follow. But if I get recommended something I like, I'll check it out.
And as someone else said in a video weeks ago (can't recall who it was): "Your potential clients aren't on Vero."
Add in the fact that my sister's name is Vero(nique) as well, I'll never proudly say "I'm on" or "checking out" Vero.
I get at least 4x as many likes as an amateur on Vero vs Instacrap. The kids want TikTok and Insta wants to be TikTok. No thanks
