This is one truly great movie. Marlene's snide remark to Congress woman Jean Arthur.."that's a lovely gown my dear, are you sure you're not wearing it backwards?" always cracks me up. So much of this film is dead serious and it's always been very moving to me.

I THANK GOD MY PARENTS LIVED. THEY MET RIGHT AFTER THE WAR. MY DAD IS FROM BRAUNLAUGE HARTZ MOUNTAINS GERMANY. THEY MARRIED IN BAVARIA. MARRIED 6WEEKS AFTER THEY MET. MARRIED FOR 60YEARS AND 2 MONTHS. TO THE DATE MY MOM WOULD SAY. GREAT HARD WORKING HONEST LOVING CHRISTIAN PARENTS. DAD DIED 85. 2007. MOM DIED 96 2016. THEY WERE FAITHFUL TO EACH OTHER.
